Dom Jose Beach Hotel (Plus)

The hotel is in a great area, right on the beach. Make sure you get a room that is water-facing, as the balconies are basic but offer a nice view. The pool is nice, and the lobby and restaurant/bar area are too.

The rooms themselves are pretty unimpressive and dated. The elevator is slow and cramped and you may have to wait awhile to get on one. Many things, like hallway motion detector lights, seemed to only sporadically work. Ants in the bathroom.

The Hotel was located in an excellent location area, with the beach right across the boardwalk. The hotel personnel were very professional and helpful. The bedroom was always spotless upon returning from our day trips.

Not having a fixed parking spot for my rental car was the only issue I really encountered.

Had an issue with breakfast on the day of arrival They would not allow us to eat since we were 10 minutes past serving time Otherwise everything was fantastic

Having to pay additional cost for water in our room . I would also recommend having tissues in the room.

Great view from the top floor, very delicious breakfast served, rooms are well equipped and beds are comfy to let you rest after the long day.

Location was the best

Not a dislike just things could be better. Bar food could have been HOT. Bar staff could have been more on top of things. I wish the pool was heated.

The location is amazing, right in front of the beach and with a lot of nice restaurants nearby.

They charge per day for beach towels and you have to leave a deposit for each towel. They charge extra to sit at the beach! Even if you are a guest, the beach chairs cost extra… that’s just not right.

Family traveling from the US. Property seemed to cater to retirement vacations. Reminds me of not the best of Daytona Beach.

I did not have breakfast on the property, only French fries and they were tasty. The beach was beautiful and clean. I was not a fan of the restaurants and other shops in the area. When we were not on the beach we hung out in the vilamoura area.

Location is great, rooms are very clean and comfortable, nicely updated furnishings. Restaurants are good with great views and live guitar music. Breakfast was a nice too. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The showers/grout was not updated like the rest of the bathroom and room, minor mold.Street parking only, be prepared to spend a lot of time hunting for a spot on busy beach days. The “city” view is of neighboring apartment building, pay for the ocean view and balcony if you can. Minor but for the price worth mentioning - The hair dryers are awful awfuland should be upgraded.
