About
The design hotel La Pérouse welcomes you to the heart of Nantes, 1640 feet from the cathedral. It features the European Union's eco-label and free Wi-Fi access. Designed by Nantes architects Barto + Barto, the hotel is a work of architecture classified as “20th-century heritage”. With its Richemont stone façade, porthole windows and sloping lines, it evokes the maritime world and blends elegantly into the city. The rooms, designed as modern cabins, reinterpret the elegance of the 1930s in a sober, minimalist and luminous spirit. Every morning, Hôtel La Pérouse serves a buffet breakfast featuring seasonal, organic, fair-trade products. The Graslin theater and the Château des Ducs de Bretagne are within easy walking distance. Nantes' SNCF train station is 0.9 mi from the hotel, while the city's three streetcar lines are less than 328 ft away.

Pros +
- location
- The location is great, in the heart of the city centre. The rooms are very spacious, clean and modern. Moreover, despite its central location, the surrounding area is quiet. The personnel is very friendly and helpful.
- Excellent location, so central, and lovely welcome, comfy bed. Great value
Cons -
- Lack of customer service
- Nothing negative. Some minor suggestions are to equip rooms with a kettle and also provide some umbrellas to the guests, since it may rain often in Nantes, especially in the winter.
- There was a problem with the room when I first entered but fortunately, staff were able to sort it. It was a basic room, not an upgrade that I was expecting. Storage facilities are limited and the lower part of the glass "cube" is not readily accessible.

The Hotel is well located, only a few minutes from Commerce. The room was quiet and comfortable. Good shower/good wifi and very good breakfast.

The location was very central and convenient. I thought it was going to be noisy because of its location near to a tram stop but it wasn't.
The hotel and our room was tastefully decorated, the staff was friendly to me and my dog. I enjoyed their lounge space with complimentary coffee, tea, and both sparkling and still water.
Nothing, it was centrally located, perfect for exploring the city.
Central location in the heart of Nantes. Nice cosy hôtel
Does not fit for 4*.. 3* is Ok
Location is great to visit the old town. Friendly staff. Besides the drawbacks the size of the room was spacious enough, the bed was comfortable and it was generally quiet.
I felt its less than 4 stars. It looks old and it needs some renovation! Noticed mold in the bathroom. There was ongoing renovation at the reception.
A decent but unspectactular stay in the heart of Nantes.
Rooms are quite small; furniture (incl. lighting) is very sparse. The bed was reasonably comfortable though the mattress sagged somewhat. The shower is the major problem with this hotel: water takes extremely long to warm up (my stay was in early October; it wasn't cold at all).Wifi is free but not password-protected, hence not secure. The breakfast spread is limited, but the croissants and cheeses are good. There is very little space in the cramped subterranean breakfast room. All things considered, I would rate this as a good 3-star hotel; it is mysterious to me how this hotel earned its 4th star.
Excellent location but very quiet at night.Interesting deco & furniture
It needs a bit of a upgrade. Would have appreciated tea/coffee facility with kettle in room.
Good location. We appreciated the email with information about transport to the hotel. Staff very obliging.
There was decorating/ painting going on in front lobby.
The bed is very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is excellent and so was the temperature. The location of the hotel is perfect, near a convenience store and tram/bus lines.
My room was on the first floor and there was a strong smell of food when I first entered it. The lights are dim and so it feels dark inside the room and in the hallway. The hotel was undergoing some renovation and the smell of paint was strong in the common areas around the reception for most of the stay. Tea and coffee were not available the first few days I was there and there was no drinking water in the room upon arrival. I wasn't informed of this before my trip and the hotel didn't offer alternatives. Finally, the towels used in the bathroom were old, stained, thinning, and not as white as one would hope to see in a four star hotel.
Excellent location, so central, and lovely welcome, comfy bed. Great value
Central place
Poor breakfast and facilities at the room was poor
Great location and super sized rooms, shower was a bit tricky to use and no tea/coffee making facilities in you room
Centrally located - within walking distance of the university along with various restaurants, cafes etc. Room was clean and tidy. Good shower. Breakfast decent also.
AC was not working throughout my stay and it was a hot summer week so room could get quite uncomfortable at night. They did provide a fan which helped somewhat. Moved to a different room after the first night but AC there did not work either. Staff were apologetic and did compensate me by refunding one night's stay. Room could do with a tea/coffee station and a couple of bottles of water. More hot options with breakfast would be nice also. Overall, this hotel is ok but I would not say it is 4 star really - 3 star max.
Cool design, perfect location, helpful staff.
This hotel is located right in the city center. It is apparently built by a famous architect, so all the exterior and interior design are unique, including the furniture. The room I stayed in was spacious and well insulated from outside noice. I also appreciated the large bathtub
The hotel offers breakfast in a room in the basement. This location wasn't pleasant due to the lack of natural light. Furthermore, there was very little variety of food available and no staff present to clean tables or help customers. So I would recommend opting out of the breakfast and find a nice coffee in town instead.Furthermore, I had some major issues during my stay and the staff of the hotel was not helpful and lacked professionalism. I had the bad luck to stay at the same time of a failure of the AC system, and a heat wave in France, leading to a temperature of 26°c in the room. I notified the staff every morning of the issue, and was told every evening that it was fixed. Instead, the problem remained for the whole duration of my stay, showing that no one took the effort to actually check the situation in my room.

Perfect location
No kettle in the room. Very weak air conditioner. The room and corridors were very smelly. Poor room service.
