Pros +
- Convenient to the town centre
- - Great position- Staff was very friendly - Very clean- Good quality, given the price- Breakfast was very nice (although not particularly cheap).
- A good value for money and affordable stay in Nantes. Beds were comfy, room was clean and it was in a great location - close to lots of bars, restaurants, museum, train station and the bus stop for the airport. There’s also a good supermarket across the road.
Cons -
- Too small Difficult to move about
- - Very small bathroom (barely space for legs in front of the toilet!)- We would have appreciated a water boiler in the room.
- They were not able to extend my stay.

It is a youth hostel, so the facilities are simple. However the lady that runs it was such a joy. It really made the stay.
They were not able to extend my stay.
I appreciate that it was really very clean and no bad smell at all. Pillows were fluffy and comfortable. Towels were ok and not too thin and old. Bed was very comfortable. Sheets were really clean. The heating works very well so the room and bathroom are warm enough. Good location ofcourse.
The receptionist tried to put me in a not desirable room which is an annex in the Hotel Duquesne. He said there was no other available room but I was on that time seeing on the booking.com app that there were still 2 rooms for the same room I paid for. It was dark and not really pleasant so no wonder it was the ‘only’ available room. His English was not good so communication was utterly poor! I don’t think he is suitable being a receptionist as he didn’t have that natural friendly, helpful, welcoming attitude. He seemed confused and not confident about his work. Maybe he is new. I don’t know. After demanding that the room was unacceptable he gave me another room in the original Le Petite Duquesne. It was an unpleasant experience in this place.
Location is great, in the main street with walking access to everything you need. Staff was always really helpfull.
The facilities were not bad at all but they show some signs of being a bit old now.
Good value for money. The staff was helpful and we could leave our luggage at the reception. Very clean and nice.
Good bed and shower, very nice and helpful staff.Clean structure and good sound insulation.
We were placed on the fourth floor with no elevators.
Centrally located traditional hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It had a homely feel
Good size room, our room was on the same floor as the reception area. Was able to check in early by going to their sister hotel up the block. Okay wifi speed. Comfy bed. Great location near busy shopping area with plenty of restaurants, bus/metro lines right outside. Requested hot water kettle from the receptionist.
Slightly dirty carpet. Did not like the open shower with no curtain and just 1/3 third of a wall, water splashed over into bathroom floor. Slight bad sewer smell coming from the bathroom. Could hear water running from upstairs rooms from toilets. Tiny television mounted on other side of room.
Located in city centre close to all amenities, tramp and bus. Very easy to get from airport to the hotel and only for 1.80€ per person. A TIP if you are going to get the breakfast much better the one for 10€ you get fresh bread, crepes, fresh soya milk… It is really worth it.
Good value for money. Great central location. Comfortable, well sized room. Clean. Friendly, helpful staff. I regularly stay here and will again
No desk or table in some rooms.
I asked for a quiet room and they gave me a tidy quiet studio on the top floor which was perfect. Very clean, excellent shower, comfy bed, fridge, microwave and basic cooking utensils. Great value for money and close to the historic centre of Nantes with numerous restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay here again.
The female manager was very personable, professional and helpful. She made us feel very welcome.
Location and price
Having to climb to the third floor.
I actually stayed at The Duquesne, the larger hotel up the road from the Petit Duquesne. I was upgraded and I wasn’t disappointed. The two members of staff that I saw were amazing and very helpful. I shall definitely stay again.
Bad bad bad...
Despite asking for a room in upper floors months in advance, they gave me a room on the ground floor with no windows (there is one glass door facing the street but being on the ground floor, the blind needs to be completely down). The room has just very basic facilities, no kettle/coffee maker or anything at all.Being at the street level, it was very noisy at all times as there is no insulation whatsoever and every guest entering the place, you could hear them since it's the first room just next to the entrance. Also I booked for Le petit Duquesne but the room they gave me is in a different location (close enough though).
Clean spacious room, hotel well located, friendly welcome and farewell.
Location of this hotel is great, and it was very good value for money. I arrived at 3 but I was able to check in, even though official check in time is 5 pm. I checked in in the hotel Duquesne which is just down the road. The room was a good size and very clean, the bed was comfy too. After I checked out I was able to leave my luggage in the hotel Duquesne again, since my flight wasn't until the evening. There is a supermarket across the road, cafe on one side of the hotel and boulangerie on the other, so I didn't get breakfast in the hotel.
There is no kettle in the room, I missed it. My room was on the 4th floor without a lift, so it was a bit of a trek and the staircase is fairly narrow - it could be a pain if you have a big suitcase. My room was missing the "do not disturb" sign even though I saw it on other room's door.
Good location, staff were welcoming. Bed was comfy for the price
We were given the accessibility room and the floor of the toilet was the same as the shower. Water got everywhere and clothes were wet even put on the toilet seat. Also harder to change because floor is wet.
