    • The staff was professional and very kind, they made me feel truly welcome. Great breakfast with fresh french pastries, fresh fruit and individual items made to order.
    • Ambience of the hotel
    • Location and staff. Add to that the splendid surroundings of the old Courthouse. No parking at the hotel but there is a carpark beside it.

    Cons -

    • 2 days before arriving I was told the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment and no restaurant would be available for evening dining. This SHOULD have been advised at the time I booked the hotel stay !!
    • No restaurant for dinner when we were there but it is undergoing refurbishment.
    • Everything was great.

We loved our stay here. The room we booked was lovely, and very reasonably priced. Beautiful building, and fantastic location. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. Staff were fantastic, very kind and ready to help with whatever we needed. We asked to leave our bags there after we checked out while we did some sightseeing, and it was not a problem. Highly recommend.

    Everything was great.

    The rooms are spacious.

Large and empty lobby. There are no slippers, robes, or minibar in the room. A deposit is required upon check-in, its purpose is unclear. When booking, it is indicated that there is a parking lot, in fact, there is a public parking lot nearby, not critical. The location is 20-30 minutes to the main attractions, not the most convenient. The mattress and pillows are very uncomfortable.

    Exceptional

Absolutely spotless! Brilliant on everything, location, services and nevertheless the hotel's architecture / design, wich is fabulous!

The fact that they had a room!

I had to book very last minute after a cancelled flight and was given a room in the eaves - no window as such but a skylight, genuinely unsettling artwork, low humming noise all night long. Lobby is awful and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel.

Lovely large room. Quiet night. Location central. Gorgeous building. Beautiful breakfast. Lovely staff.

No signage for the entrance to the hotel while under renovation. .

    7KimPosted on: 6-17-2025

Breakfast was great plenty of choice

I didn't know about the renovation works when booking. The corridors were quite dark.

The location is central and close to the old town, and restaurants. It is recently renovated, with attention to artistic, contemporary decoration.

The building was undergoing major renovations, which prevented us from enjoying one of its main attractions—the historic features. Additionally, we had booked a room with a city view but were initially assigned one without it. After bringing this to the staff’s attention, we were promptly moved to a room with the correct view.

    Location , nice room

    Room very warm

    1SusanPosted on: 5-28-2025

    The room was ok

It was under massive renovation with vast internal scaffolding which had closed all the usual reception and central communal areas. There was no warning of this when I booked it. I had booked a nights stay as a birthday treat for my husband and of course it was a washout. The hotel felt like a ghost town and the first receptionist wasn’t even nice to us.

    Very friendly staff.

Room and hotel could use maintenance / upkeep. Main entrance area and lobby was mostly closed off for maintenance. This wasn't mentioned anywhere at time of booking. Overall, I'm not sure it represents good value.

The location of the hotel is good and the building itself is stunning , staff were lovely and gave good recommendations . The rooms are spacious and good size bathroom .

The hotel is in the process of being refurbished which I didn’t know when booking . Personally from the work done so far I think the interior design is disappointing . The new reception in white plastic just not in keeping with the building . The corridors are dark and stuffy . Just not my taste .

The breakfast was varied and generous, and the staff very helpful and cheerful. I understand a number of staff had been let go while the restoration was being completed, which accounted for the restaurant being largely non-functional except for breakfast and room service.

When I arrived the hotel resembled a building site and apparently will remain so for up to four more months. The Reception was reduced to a small corner on one side of the entrance, and there was no direct access to the room; two different lifts had to be used, one on either side of the building; the main entrance hall was filled with scaffolding; the restaurant was unusable except for breakfast (and possibly pre-booked external events). I had reserved a room for one person for 4 nights and paid Booking.Com over £800 in advance. I expected a great deal more than this (it certainly does not look like the photo above). Booking.Com should have arranged for better information and communication with prospective clients and reduced prices.

Super nice staff! Room was spacious and comfortable.

Breakfast could be a bit better for the price. Especially the very standard warm food: scrambled eggs, sausage and beans. We’re in France, so a nice French breakfast would’ve been more appropriate. Maybe some rillette or so… also, one couldn’t open the windows.

    9HelenPosted on: 9-26-2024

Spacious room with lots of nice treats!

Very long check in! Maybe stipulate you want Childrens ID with accompanying parents on the booking.

    6MariePosted on: 9-8-2024

    Staff were very helpful

Not a lot going on in hotel, no restaurants as such, no Atmosphere, very tired and bland

    9LucyPosted on: 9-7-2024

Amazing property . Nice to stay in a historic building. Converted very sympathetically . Staff were brilliant. Very comfortable. Usually located.

Air conditioning didn’t work very well and WiFi in dormer room was non existent
