Hotel Mercure Nantes Centre Grand

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the hotel. We chose it because it is centrally-located, which is perfect for visiting a city like Nantes, which we had never visited before. Getting through the barrier to reach a hotel located in the pedestrian area was a bit challenging, but manageable in the end. Exiting at the end of the stay was smooth and easy. Hotel has parking available, for a fee. We enjoyed that everything is walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was great although, depending what time you arrive, some items are no longer available, which is surprising for this size/type of hotel. Room was fine and beds were comfortable. We would recommend it for a visit in Nantes where there is plenty to see.

Missing items during breakfast. Coffee may be better. The hotel may explore a different type of coffee machines/a different brand.

Loved the hotel…staff was great and the room excellent except for the carpet..

Breakfast was very good….the breakfast room was very crowded so go early.Our suite was very nice except for the carpet which was disgusting, filthy and smelled like dirty socks. I told the night manager who didn’t seem to care at all.

Impossible to drive to .

Never even found the hotel. The street restrictions made it impossible to access. Only received instructions on how to enter after I had already left to go elsewhere. They charged me for the night anyway.

The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice. The room was comfortable and very quiet. The hotel is located in the centre of Nantes and so close to the main sights of the city. It was close to restaurants and bars. The staff were professional and very helpful.

A very minor point, on a couple of mornings there were large tour groups at breakfast, so the restaurant was very busy and some of the breads and fruit were ran out, but the staff replenished them quickly

Location was central and easy to walk from to any locations. Breakfast was great with a varied selection of both hot and cold food. There was on going manitenance in corridor areas, this was well signed if a little smelly of the paint but bearable.

Bar prices were a little heavy

Paper cups in the room didn’t stay waterproof overnight. Disappointing for a good hotel in good area. This smacks of cheapness… also restaurant was closed at the weekend.

Fantastic location, nice room and really nice staff in particular - the customer service was brilliant and they were friendly.

Room was quite small, very tight to move around (not much free space). Fridge wasnt connected. No working space at all

Rather low water pressure in the shower. Cold bathroom, without heating. Placed near a square full of drug addicts and illegal cigarette sellers.

Great Location but sub standard for a mercure

Disappointing breakfast. Cold “hot buffet” with overcooked pastries on all 3 mornings of our stay. Bar closed early every night, one night at 6pm when meant to be open until midnight. Bathroom so small you could barely close the door when inside.

Cold room and lumpy extra bed. I have no idea how and why they got 4 *

Cold room that needed 3 hours to warm up and lumpy extra bed ( brought after we discovered that was just a double and we booked for three of us) for our daughter is not worthy of 4 * and the price tag.

The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

The layout of the bathroom was very difficult. One can’t stand in the hall while the other tried to open the door of the toilet or shower. Also I would have liked having a creamer for my coffee.

Room was beautiful

The taxi ordered by reception to the airport was 25 mins late . So we had to get our own uber and it was very stressful

Staff was friendly and helpful, and smiley and did not try too hard to sell in-house services

As a perfectionist, I believe another detailed round of cleaning would be nice but it is acceptable for 1 night or 2

1. Poor soundproof on 5 th level! Motor of the lift was noise!!!!2. No vegatables / no tomato, no paprika, no green salad for vegan at breakfast / only potato and bean/:(

Friendly staff, (one lovely one who had to come to my car and direct me to the hotel!); decent breakfast

Almost impossible to get to given pedestrianisation in old part of town, poor directions if you are travelling by car; garage very tight and difficult to get in/out of; food in restaurant very poor; non resident louts allowed in to restaurant/bar and not controlled. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Not my usual Mercure experience!

One lift was OOO, resulting in very long delays. Wayfinding for stairs very poor. Breakfast room crowded, too small for the hotel

The location

There is almost no storage area for clothes. Except for some hangers there is no any drawer or shelf for clothes. I was told when I complained that the hotel is intended to serve visitors for one night…I came for 3 nights….
