Zeus Essence Wyndham Athens Residence

Sadly, there was nothing enjoyable about this hotel. It was filthy and located in a sketchy area, which we realized when the cab driver hesitated at the drop-off.

This hotel was a complete letdown. This is not a five-star the hotel and needs to not be advertised as such.

The only big positive thing about our experience at the hotel was the location and proximity to the metro.

This hotel was far from our expectations as a couple honeymooning in Greece. The rooms were dirty, our shower did not work, and there were dust bunnies in the corners of the rooms and in the vents. Far from a 5 star hotel or 5 star experience in our books

The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. The room was comfortable for a family. Close to metro.

The pool was just a puddle, you cannot even call it a pool.

The hotel was average

The hotel did not have storage for clothes. The gym machines were broken. The "complimentary coffee" was in fact 1.50 pr cup. The view was of a tenement, not the classic View we were promised. The breakfast was not included in our stay so we had to pay 40

Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.

Yes! First this was supposed to be a 5* option. The area is not great. The hotel didn’t have A 24 hr gym or restaurant. The lobby was bleak and overall lacking.

Each staff member at the Wyndham Athens Residence was very attentive & helpful with all tasks we needed assistance with, even beyond what one would ordinarily expect! For example, we were patiently helped to enable my phone to work with the free WiFi.

The staffs were great, everyone were very charming and hospitable.- the receptionist- was especially extra nice. She was extremely friendly and kind! The room was massive and definitely 5 star worthy. The facility is great.

Perhaps- indoor swimming pool would be great but it's Greece so not sure if that is even needed.

Nice and it is very close to metro station and near by markets Ahmed, Diana, Elpida, Chrysa and the security Andreas the most cooperative staff. The most important thing in that hotel is the cooperation and the help of the hotel manager Mrs Anna and she is making the difficult thing very easy. She allowed us to enter early to the rooms and providing Halal food.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The view was great with Karaiskaki Square right in front, also could see Lycabettus with a backdrop of the mountains behind it. Watching the sunrise from the room or the restaurant on the top floor was incredible. The blackout curtains kept all the light out if you wanted to sleep in. Wifi was fast and always connected. The staff were very nice and helpful. Also there was a complimentary bottle of wine in my room which was greatly appreciated.Breakfast had a wide variety of food with scrambled eggs and bacon being my favourite. There was also hash browns, baked beans, roasted veggies, different types of bread, cereals, fresh fruit, cold cuts, fresh honey, sweets etc.Metaxourgeio metro station is less than 20m from the entrance. It's a 5 min metro ride to Syntagma, and a 20 min walk to Monastiraki square. Also the hop on hop off bus has a stop right in front of the hotel. There is a 24/7 bakery next door, as well as a few Greek restaurants and a Vietnamese restaurant close by. There is an ATM right next to the entrance, however card was accepted almost everywhere. There are a couple of laundromats within 500m from the hotel.

The main road in front of the hotel was very busy and noisy during the day. Also could hear the occasional car horn or ambulance at night. This didn't bother me at all as I use earplugs while sleeping, but it is worth noting.

The location was good for us to be able to walk to somethings and right at a hop on hop off stop which made getting around very easy. Breakfast was good and the hours were convenient. The room was a very nice size and we were grateful for air conditioning. The staff was very helpful in helping us set up tours and giving us advise about sightseeing.

There really was not anything that I had a problem with about the hotel. The very first day was not a great day because they didn't have a room for us at my chosen hotel but they put us up at a sister hotel. So we were not stranded but it did delay our adventures for a day.
