    Pros +

    • location and staff
    • The staff was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay here. The room was small, but clean. The neighborhood is close to the museum. There are shops, restaurants and musicians down the street.
    • The front desk was very friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage for us (for free) before we checked in and after we checked out so that we could maximize our touring without suitcases weighing us down.

    Cons -

    • there was a bathtub/shower that had a very big step in - it would have been better if it was just a shower
    • The room was small, but adequate.
    • The shower did not drain. We called the front desk and were informed that there is nothing to do about it because the drainage system in the city is just bad.

This hotel was PERFECT. The location is great, the room is cozy, and the staff is so nice. The breakfast buffet was €15, but it ended up being very worth it.

I loved everything about this hotel. It was affordable, and very great quality!

The location, helpful staff, rooftop restaurant, smaller sized hotel.

    Can't think of anything.

The spectacular view on the rooftop.

Very close to attractions, lots of restaurants, close to Metro.

We rented a car, parking was available at the property with an addition Euro 15 per day. I booked the room at Hera Hotel, because it mentioned parking was available, but did not clearly state that it comes with a price.

The Hera Hotel is beautiful. The staff are well informed, and helpful. They gave me excellent advice on everything from places to go, how to take the metro, and stored our suitcases when we went on a 2 day trip. They sell stamps and will mail your postcards for you.The hotel is beautiful. The lobby your room were beautiful. The view means you need to step out onto your balcony and look to the side to see the Acropolis (it doesn't fill the window), but it's okay. The breakfast was amazing. Location is ideal. Walk to the Acropolis Museum, site, metro, Prison of Socrates, shopping in 5 minutes. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch.In 15 minutes you can be a the Parlement and see the changing of the guards, or go a different direction and be on the midst of bakeries, restaurants, stores

The location was great. The rooftop view and food are excellent. The breakfast is fantastic.

The outside noise. Both on the street side and the back....

Excellent breakfast. Loved the balcony. Near awesome restaurants and Platko. The bar and restaurant upstairs had good cocktails and food. I will be traveling in and out of Athens over the next year. I plan to stay at the Hera each time. Great neighborhood- always safe. Near museum. Perfect neighborhood to just walk around. Well treated by staff who always spoke to us. Our cleaning lady thanked us profusely for her tip before we left. Very good people.

I was there 8 days. I'd love to stay 8 more.

    Great location and breakfast.

Shower isn’t that great and tub is difficult to step up into.

    5JohanPosted on: 7-17-2025

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The room allocated to us was too small for 3 beds, the view from the window was atrocious, and the aircon had a thermostat that caused it to go on and off throughout the night. Furthermore was impossible to adjust the direction of the airflow from the aircon and instead of blowing towards the roof or parallel to the roof, it blew on the bed.

Close to all amenities and sightseeing areas.(Parthenon , Acropolis )Walking distance to all the shops

Rooms were small but overall very clean .

    Location was great

The photos of this properties are NOT representative of the room we were given. I booked a room for 3 adults, which by photos looked like two bedrooms. When we arrived, we were given a room with three twin beds in a row with little circulation space, no where to open suitcases, and the third bed was a fold up child’s bed that collapsed on the adult that had to sleep on it. The property would not give us a second room without charging us or allow us to cancel and find a new stay the first night. After the bed collapsed and there was a new customer friendly person at the front desk, we were given a second room for the second nights stay. The most frustrating part was this required two hours of my time in Athens wasted on the phone with Bookings.com, that offered no solutions and at least and hour discussing with staff at the property.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice view room, quiet. A drink on rooftop with view was special.

    10MarinaPosted on: 4-20-2025

It was so close to everything and best restaurants and tourist spots. The staff at the hotel was amazing and super friendly. They were the best, thank you for one of the best stays, we wished we’d stay a day or two longer. THANK YOU! ❤️

Nothing! We really loved this hotel.

It was very welcoming. Clean, good breakfast and great location

Restaurant was under renovation and missed out on our first night dining with Acropolis view. We made due and found somewhere else to eat. We understood that this was early in the season, and you have to renovate sometime.

Small hotel with good view of Acropolis from some rooms. Road can however be a bit noisy. Super location - Acropolis museum and Acropolis a short walk away, Plaka also near, and hop-on-hop-off bus stops nearby. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. Hotel breakfast a fairly standard buffet, but fine.

This was my second stay at the Hera. The location is superb—around the corner from the Parthenon museum and the Acropolis and within walking distance of Plaka!!! The rooms are small but adequate since you're in Athens and there is so much to see outside!! I was disappointed that the rooftop restaurant was under renovation, but it is due to reopen in April. Their view is spectacular!! Breakfast in the lobby restaurant was very comprehensive and delicious. The staff was very congenial and helpful in making suggestions and in fixing a computer glitch.

No complaints other than the disappointment about the rooftop restaurant.

We loved the staff at this hotel. They are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and smelled wonderful. We had breakfast twice and it was expansive with multiple choices and the quality was excellent. The rooms were very nice and beds super comfortable. It’s very close to the Acropolis and Acropolis museum. Lots of places in the neighborhood to shop and eat. It’s very close to the Plaka shopping as well.

The rooftop dining was under some construction so we didn’t eat dinner with a view of the Acropolis.
