    • Most amazing view! Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very kind.
    • Proximity to multiple archeological sites including the Acropolis and slopes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent views of the Acropolis from the balcony. The rooms were spacious and our family was given connected room making it a comfortable stay for all.

    Cons -

    • Incredible view of the SAcropolis from our balconuy. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Excellent restaurant.
    • The room’s heat was faulty throughout the travel, leaving the room unbearably hot in the night to sleep. We had to crack the window to get some cool air in - which meant the weekend sounds came with as well :) The hot water also takes a long time to come in and lasts only enough for one person’s shower. 2nd person showering got cold water showers in winter!
    • Pretty much everything is dated and wasn't upgraded in the last years. The bathroom layout was really weird. The weight balance wasn't working. Although i am sure that the staff is doing a great job with cleaning, everything feels a bit unpleasant.

So much to like about this place. The location couldn't be better. It is a close walk to everything and just far enough away from the noisey downtown area. The view of the acropolis from this place was amazing! I got to spend every morning sipping coffee and every evening relaxing on my balcony just taking in the beautiful view of the acropolis. The staff were all sp wonderful and accommodating. Even surprised me with a custom made birthday cake and candle waiting for me at my room when I only briefly mentioned I was there for my birthday trip to one person. If I come back to Athens, I will only stay at this hotel. What a wonderful experience.

The view from the balcony and room is the best in Athens. Also the location is excellent.

I recently stayed at Hotel Thissio in Athens and found it to be a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers. What really sets this place apart is the unbeatable location—steps away from major sights like the Acropolis and lively neighborhoods full of cafes and shops. For the price, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal in the heart of Athens.

The room was on the smaller side, but clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. While the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, it was manageable.

The location cannot be beat. A very walkable area for sightseeing, dining and shopping. The hotel team is very kind for providing answers to local questions, language, history, arranging transportation and meals. Our room was the standard size for Europe. Bed very comfortable with a wonderful balcony and close view of the Parthenon, if you choose that option. The price was reasonable and included a full cook to order breakfast with awesome coffee! The manager, Terry is dedicated to ensure your stay is great which we certainly appreciated!

Great location, very clean room, free bottle of wine in restaurant, exceptional front desk staff.

It was a perfect location - incredible views of the acropolis and neighborhood great restaurants. Short walk to main historic sites. The staff, especially Alex, were amazing, treated my children and I just like family. In all my 30 years of travel I appreciate this hotel and its team above all else.

Great view of Acropolis. Terry and the bar staff were also great and very accommodating.

Location, location, location - lovely hotel with attentive staff - you really are in the heart of Athens right next to the Acropolis - the rooms were great, breakfast was solid - the staff were very helpful. The top floor restaurant has beautiful evening views of the Acropolis - it is very special! We'd for sure stay with them again the next time we are in Athens!

Nothing too specific comes to mind to be honest.

Literally everything. From the view to the staff. From the room to the food on the top floor restaurant. Literally EVERYTHING about this hotel was amazing from beginning to end. We loved how quiet the neighborhood of Thissio is and how calm the atmosphere is. The hotel is on a pedestrian street called Apostolou Pavlou which is about a 10 minute walk on the other side of the Acropolis to the busier centers like Monastiraki and Psyrri. Just an all around great place to stay.

    Absolutely nothing.

We love staying at Hotel Thisseio every time we land in Athens. It’s the perfect way to start our time in Greece!! Accommodating facilities and welcoming staff make our stay delightful. Garifalia is so sweet and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is always smiling, thank you once again!!! We can’t wait to return!

Loved it-great location with acropolis view, friendly staff. Small room but nice and you can walk to acropolis.

Staff was very helpful and friendly except for waitress at the rooftop restaurant. She was kind of rude, and not helpful or nice at all. She's probably not working there anymore, hopefully. Also it was a little noisy being right above a busy pedestrian street with restaurants.

Location in Thissio is perfect. Corner room Zeus is perfect to watch the sun rise above the Acropolis. Breakfast is scrumptious and portions are very generous- fit for soldiers! Everyone here is so nice and helpful.

    Nothing- everything was great

Some Staffs attitude Comments from Barman when ordering another coffee at breakfast. Having breakfast outside was refused which we had in the past Main waiter at breakfast worked really hard

The service, location, view , amazing! Best of all, the kindness of the people in charge. Wonderful. The neighborhood is beautiful.

    We stayed only one night

The place was clean and modern. Was located in the best part of the city, next to the Acropolis. Breakfast was good with enough to choose from.

We spent four nights at the hotel at the end of April in a family room, which is two normal double rooms with a door between them – meaning that the kids also had a separate, fully quipped bathroom!! The rooms are spacious, well furnished, the beds are very comfortable (not too soft, as in many places). The outside wall of the rooms are made of two huge sliding doors – leading to a nice little terrace –, which provide an amazing panoramic view to the Acropolis! From the bed!! If you don’t like it or want to sleep until late in the morning (or take a nap in the afternoon), you can close the curtains and make total darkness inside. The bathrooms are nice as well, the hotel doesn’t only provide shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, but also toothbrush and toothpaste too!Located on the walking street Apostolou Pavlou 800m from the main entrance of the Acropolis (to avoid big queues, buy tickets online in advance to a chosen 1 hour time slot!!!), this is one of the closest point to the heart of Athens! As our primary (and secondary) aim was sightseeing in Athens, we were expecting basic features: besides having a proper room, we wanted tasty food and cold drinks! Hotel Thissio provides them both: in the street terrace and on the roof garden restaurant area as well! Not to mention the a-la-carte breakfast menus with good portions: eggs prepared in various styles, toast, fruits, fresh orange juice, coffee, tea.Last but not least – a big thank to every member of the staff, who are very kind, helpful and make your Athens tour a really unforgettable memory!

We were only missing some shelves in the bathroom (there were only towel hangers), so we had to keep our bathroom accessories on a shelf in the room.
