- Stylish, minimalist yet lots of character. Really beautiful room with perfect facilities (inc amazing bathroom products!). Staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly and there was a genuine feeling they wanted it to be the best possible experience. Breakfast was fantastic too!
- We loved our stay at Emerald Hotel! The hotel was centrally located and easy to walk to all the major attractions in Athens. Our room was brand new and clean, and we loved using the rooftop tub to cool down after a long day walking around. Finally, the staff was so kind - they arranged airport taxis for us, and prepared delicious to-go sandwiches for us to take in the morning because we had an early flight home. Highly recommend this lovely hotel!
- Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were so kind and helpful, breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect. We booked the suite with the bathtub on the roof patio and I would highly recommend you do the same if you’re considering it. Despite the fact that we were there in December we sat on the patio every day of our stay and used the bathtub twice. It was wonderful
Cons -
- Nothing!
- It was very noisy, but the area is literally the cafe/bar/restaurant neighborhood. Booker should know this going in - if you can't handle noise at night, this property isn't for you.
- I didn’t find anything that I didn’t like.

The location is excellent and the rooms are very clean. In addition, the restaurant Yphes offers an exceptional culinary experience. Highly recommended!
Right in the heart of the Plaka, this hotel has access to it all

Had a great time at the Emerald Hotel! The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and great location to most of the attractions. What makes this hotel even better, is the wonderful staff that runs it. They were very welcoming and made us feel at home.
I didn’t find anything that I didn’t like.
We had a great experience! The staff notified us several days ahead of our arrival about a taxi strike. They arranged a ride for us from ferry port to the hotel amid this disruption! Hara arranged this ride as well as one back to the airport after our stay. She also got a dinner reservation for us. The food at the restaurant was amazing . We LoVED our rooftop terrace! We stayed in Uranius on top floor! The remodel was beautifully done!
The winding staircase was a little difficult to navigate and the tiny lobby with luggage.
Breakfast was superb, but the best part had to be the staff. Hara at the front desk is a superstar and made complicated travel arrangements smooth and seamless.
Great new hotel with modern design and very warm and welcoming staff. Great comfortable bed and amazing shower. Also appreciated the welcome drink & to-go breakfast since I had an early flight.
It's a small boutique hotel so no elevator but they were helpful in moving our bags.
I liked that it was close to restaurants, shops, and at least 15-20 mins to all the attractions. It was nice that breakfast was offered in a place just around the corner and that they had outdoor/indoor spaces. The building and room was kept very clean. The staff, Hara, Demetri, and others in the restaurant were extremely helpful and kind. I could not have asked for a better staff team for my first time in Athens. They checked in on me often, helped with my luggage given there wasn’t an elevator, and helped coordinate airport transportation. I appreciated their kindness as a solo, female traveler.
Emerald Hotel Athens exceeded all our expectations and made our trip truly special. It’s a newly opened hotel with beautifully curated design, high-quality furnishings, and an exceptional attention to detail. The rooms have high ceilings, elegant decor, and a sense of quiet luxury that immediately makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and refreshed daily. It was fully equipped with everything we needed: a wardrobe, cozy sitting area, in-room safe, a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules, free bottled water and snacks, and a minibar with additional drinks and treats available for purchase. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, and the bed was large, supportive yet comfortable – with soft sheets and outstanding memory foam pillows. The bathroom featured plush towels, a wonderful rainfall shower, constant hot water, and premium toiletries. One of the highlights of our stay was the location: right in the center of Athens, within walking distance of every major neighborhood and historical attraction, yet just one street away from the main Ermou pedestrian zone – so we were close to everything, but still enjoyed peace and quiet in the room.Breakfast is served at Yphes, the fantastic restaurant directly below the hotel. The breakfast menu is incredibly diverse, and every dish we tried was beautifully presented and delicious. As part of the hotel’s offering, each guest receives two different dishes from the menu plus coffee or fresh juice – a real treat every morning. The staff were kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful – every request was met quickly and always with a smile.Considering the quality of the hotel, the service, the fantastic location, and the included breakfast at Yphes – the value for money is simply outstanding.
The only things to be aware of: the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, so you’ll need to climb a (beautiful but fairly steep) staircase to reach the rooms on the first or second floor. Staff kindly carried our suitcases up at check-in, but not at check-out. Also, there’s no lobby or lounge area outside the rooms, so after checking out, there isn’t really a space to sit and relax – something to note if that’s important to you.
The staff was amazing as was the location! They were helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable.
Everything was perfect ! The place is very nicely decorated, Alike on the reception was very welcoming and helped us finding tables in the nicest restaurants. All the team in the restaurant were super efficient and super nice serving you breakfast with a smile . We would definitely come back
Breakfast is very goodLocation perfectSmall but very private, quiet Room very good
Pelows not comfortable
Personnel was welcoming and helpful. Design was original. Bedding and towel textiles were top notch.
Light and noise is coming from the hallway through the room door
This boutique hotel was brand new when we stayed in Dec 24. The rooms are exquisite. High ceilings, high end fittings and amazing decor. We stayed in ‘aide’ the name of the room. The manager was extremely attentive and engaging.
Tiny niggles on a brand new hotel. Not worth putting here as all will be ironed out. The hotel is connected to a restaurant that provides the breakfast (all the same business). There is no elevator if you have heavy luggage or need accessibility.
This is a very nice place if you want to spend few days in Athens, close to everything, Syndagma, Plaka, Monastiraki, Psiri and of course Acropolis.Rooms are very beautiful and decorated with taste and staff of this small hotel is always there for you.
Overall a wonderful experience in Athens. The rooms are very spacious with a sense of luxury, and the amenities are beyond expectations. Walking distance to many points of interest, concerts, great dinners and posh shopping experience. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special on our stay. What makes Emerald Athens so special, beyond its unique architecture and style, is its restaurant, which offers modern Greek cuisine paired with a large wine list—sure to satisfy even the most discerning food lovers. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely gorgeous property right in the heart of the city center, offering every modern amenity. Our stay at Emerald Athens exceeded our expectations in every way. The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed, spacious, and equipped with modern touches while still preserving its neoclassical style. The à la carte breakfast was amazing. The dining restaurant and bar were excellent, and all the staff were incredibly friendly. Ideally located near the sites we wished to visit and convenient to all the historic landmarks. Highly recommended!
The staff were so friendly and accommodating. This is not just another hotel - it has a personal touch.
