The Gem Society Hotel

The location is perfect, within walking distance of the Acropolis and nearby Philopappos hill. The close by meat and fish market is worth a visit, too. The hotel is comfortable and quiet (at least from the inside rooms) and the restaurant very good.

One of the best exepriences we had in accomodation in Athens. The hotel has an ideal location, walking distance from Syntagma and the main sightseeings. The room was spacious and clean. The staff extremely friendly and the offered breakfast delicious and full of choices. Definetely will come back?

The location is great!

The breakfast prices were not as we were expecting. We had been told 10 Euros each for breakfast and we were charged 20 Euros each per breakfast. This additional 60 Euros cost for 3 days seemed unfair because we had stayed at the Gem on other occasions and were never informed that the way you book impacts the breakfast rates.

The location was wonderfully convenient, just steps from the city center. Our room was clean, thoughtfully designed, and kept at a comfortable temperature. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay.

Convenient, small hotel with up to date room facilities including a very nice shower. The property was able to let us into our room many hours early for no fee after our morning flight arrival. Nice restaurant, cafe/bar area on the first floor and walking distance to all the main attractions in Athens.

This hotel met expectations for the property type and rating. It covered the basics and while priced in line with other similar properties, felt a bit expensive.

Even during my taxi ride to the airport, I was deeply impressed by their professional support!I arrived on October 6th, and the team greeted me with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine smiles. They were incredibly detail-oriented and made my check-in feel truly special. I had arrived early, exhausted from my travels, and they kindly accommodated an early check-in, which I greatly appreciated, it really set a positive tone for my stay. The hotel’s location is excellent, very central and within walking distance of everything, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city.Throughout my stay, every interaction with the hotel team was seamless and professional. Even though this hotel was not originally part of my business trip plan, the staff made everything effortless, and I am now eager to return on future trips.The food was excellent, with a great variety. The breakfast team was friendly, attentive, and highly professional, especially appreciated was the quality cappuccino, which was delightful!The highlight, however, was their honesty and support. I accidentally left all my money in the safe when departing for the airport. As I was already in the taxi, the team promptly called me to inform me and even arranged for the money to be delivered safely to the airport. I cannot express how stressed I was at that moment, and their quick action and reliability completely relieved that stress. I trusted them completely, and their support went above and beyond what I could have expected.From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank the team for their exceptional service. They made my stay unforgettable, and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

Honestly, I found no drawbacks during my stay, everything was handled flawlessly.

Looks very good on site but property needs a little more attention. A little run down, needs paint and new rugs in particular the 6th floor. Staff is stellar.

Price is cheap. The location is quiet. The room was spacious for a European hotel. AC kept room nice and cold. The staff was very helpful setting up an airport transfer and has 24 hour front desk.

The beds are uncomfortable and hard. Modern design with everything feeling cheap. The design of the room is terrible. It’s an open bathroom concept with the toilet in a frosted enclosure that felt like it was in the middle of the room. Hit our heads on the lights getting out of bed and tripped on uneven floors into bathroom in the night. Wierd plastic fake wood flooring in the shower. Noisy AC. Lobby is dark and not inviting. Check in staff was not very friendly.

The hotel is very nice, very clean, we really liked that they make the room every day and change the towels. It is super well located, close to all strategic points. The breakfast is delicious and super varied with very healthy options. The staff is very attentive, good predisposition and friendly at all times. We loved it! We would definitely come back

Excellent location near to many shops, places to eat, and multiple subway stations.

Amazing staff and hospitality. Our family felt so welcome and taken care of. Location was central and everything was a short walk away.

What a gem of a hotel! A great little restaurant on the main floor and a square only steps away with several more dining options. The rooms are large and very modern, comfy beds and all the amenities. A short walk to the Acropolis and Kala, and pretty much any else you want to go. Definitely recommend.

Our room was directly over the front door of the lobby which made it a bit noisy as people came and went.

Staff was great - free coffee while checking in, bartender was friendly.

Everything was good . The stuff, food , location!

We loved the hotel. The receptionists are all extremely friendly and welcoming, it's great to walk in to a friendly face. The restaurant has 10/10 food, and huge portions. The staff is also very friendly and hospitable.The location is quite convenient, with Monastiraki square being a 5-min walk away, Ermou street 6-min away, and Syntagma square 7-min away. It was easy moving around the city from here.

- Amenities weren't directly provided, you have to ask for them. We asked for toothbrushes and slippers, as there's a paper explaining that they are available per request. I would probably propose to have a list for guests to understand what amenities are available to them. Especially for first-time travellers who wouldn't know.- We found a bed bug one night *but* the staff was extremely quick to change our beds and had professionals check our room twice.
