    Pros +

    • Rooftop restaurant had the best views in the city, and great food
    • I loved the architecture and the interior design, the room, furniture, wonderful SPA and a decent gym. Christmas decoration was stunning and subtle at the same time. Loved the location too and the utmost priority of mine was to feel safe as a solo female traveler, in the hotel itself and its suroundings. Staff was quite polite, educated, and their uniform did not go unnoticed either. I loved small gestures such as greeting you in the corridors, lobby.
    • The view from our room of the Acropolis was fantastic. The location of the hotel was fantastic.

    Cons -

    • Room was a bit small
    • They should def. Implement a few adjustments to the replenishment of the water and coffee pods in case they have been used as a part of their daily routine. Guest shouldn’t have to especially request, however, è each time I called for the same, it was done promptly. The only thing I did not like was a concierge staff member who reassured me he will check upon something for me, without me insisting or so, he took my number but I have never really heard back from him. I travelled privately but looking for investment, so I just asked what areas in Athens would they (as locals) suggest.. that was it! It was a bit older staff member with a bit greyish hair (don’t know his name). If you cannot deliver just say I’m sorry I cannot do that, but just do not promise first and later not deliver the same. Afterward I did not even bother asking for any guidance the concierge team because I have lost trust.
    • We stayed in room 706 at the end of October 2025. Unfortunately, the room was directly underneath the rooftop restaurant on floor 8. Every movement of diners getting in and out of their chairs made a contant din of chair scraping across the floor sound from very early morning to late at night. The sounds had a tooty horn sound to it, so multipy that times 25 times per hour over your head. It was sheer torture. I googled the issue and it is a known issue to management. All they have to do is put felt stick on coasters under the feet of the chairs in the overhead restaurant, yet they do not seem to care. This is a business/government account hotel, so maybe they do not care.

Our stay at the Hotel Grande Bretagne was truly exceptional. The service was outstanding – all staff were kind, attentive, and highly professional. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and maintained to the highest standards. The rooftop restaurant and bar offered breathtaking views of the Acropolis and the city – perfect for a romantic evening. The food was delicious, and breakfast was a real highlight. The location is unbeatable – right next to Syntagma Square and steps away from Ermou Street, where you can shop for hours.Special thanks to the team for accommodating our late check-out request. We will definitely return on our next trip to Athens. Highly recommended!

location, view, restaurants, spa, gym, room service - everything was excellent. Rooms were on the smaller size, which didn't really matter because we weren't spending much time there. Shower worked well but was not a stand alone; it faced into a tub.

Rooftop - cigar lounge - everything was amazing

Payment method is outdated — blocking the amount first and releasing it later is really old school. Needs to be updated.

Location, roof top restaurant, pool, good security, and very well trained staff.

Very minor things, for example paintings and lamp shades hanging crookedly in the room, hallway and downstairs restaurant.

We had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel is very well located, making it easy to explore the city. One of the highlights is the restaurant on the 8th floor, which offers a perfect terrace with a spectacular view of the Acropolis. The waitresses at both restaurants were exceptionally attentive and helpful, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable experience.I highly recommend the hotel for its excellent location, beautiful views, and the quality of service provided by most of the staff.

I was disappointed with the front desk reception and the doormen, as they were often engaged in conversation with each other, often seemed more focused on chatting than on assisting guests.

Amazing location. High quality hotel. Staff exceptionally polite and very helpful. Restaurant on 8th floor has amazing views and also amazing cuisine. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite hotels ever. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. The food was incredible. The cigar bar was one of the nicest I have ever been to. I wish I stayed longer in Athens just to spend more time at this hotel. They helped us plan our trip to and from various airports and gave excellent advice on where we should and should not go. We will be coming back to Athens and only staying here from now on.

Very clean and great location. Best dinner at their restaurant.

First of all, photos do not do enough justice to the place. It looks great in pictures, however you get a truly "wow" feeling once you get there. Especially Alexander's Winter Palace. The best part of our stay was the anticipation to get back after a day's journey. The food was tasty, vegetables and fruits looked fresh, professional staff, clean place and fast internet speed. Why wouldn't we? :)One more thing that stood out was attention to details. For example, if you're an early morning coffee enthusiast, mini-bar is equipped with everything you need.

The gym size turned out to be small. Granted, there was an unusually large number of sport enthusiasts, it would be still great to have a couple of additional areas for weightlifting and stretching.
