The staff was very service driven. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. The on property restaurant, GECO, is amazing.

Caution: rooms facing the street will be very noisy due to bars and nightclub.

Hard to choose just one. The staff, room, breakfast & location, all excellent.

1. The rooms are quite noisy when the hotel plays music until midnight. 2. The hotel room has a ?desk? with an ottoman chair (no back) that is too short and the desk has the coffee machine where you?d like to sit. There is no outlet near the desk.

The free breakfast was phenomenal and the hotel was beautiful and clean!

The staff was excellent, accommodating and friendly! I loved the location, beds were very comfortable, food was great and it was quiet at night! The place was clean. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Location - very noisy, service other than the reception area to not good, room is too small, no storage space in the bathroom, no decent hair dryer, striking Valentine's Day design reminiscent of a nightclub rather than a hotel.

It was winter but the rooms were hot and we couldn’t open the cool AC, they offered us fans which helped but the option of cooling was disabled for the whole building which is understandable but the rooms were hot and we couldn’t enjoy our sleep

Noise Level: Our room faced the hotel bar, and there was noticeable noise until relatively late at night. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to request a room on a higher floor or away from the bar area.

This is our second time at this hotel, and just like the first time, it was simply outstanding.If you are debating which hotel to choose in Athens, just go ahead and book this one.To start, the hotel was decorated for Christmas in the most stunning way, the most beautiful we have seen. They change the décor for every holiday according to the season.The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and it showed in absolutely everything.The rooms are beautiful and fully equipped with everything you need, including a handheld steam iron. The bed was so comfortable that you will not want to get out of it in the morning.There is real attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety. Even if you decide not to stay at this hotel, I still recommend coming for breakfast or brunch because it was genuinely great. Also, the hotel itself is one of the most beautiful we have stayed in.Every evening they left chocolates and extra water in our room.There was not a single request we made that the staff did not respond to with the utmost kindness.I always knew I would return to this hotel, and this time they exceeded themselves even more. I have no doubt I will come back again.If it were possible to give more than a 10, I would.There is no need to think twice. I truly feel this is not only the best hotel in Athens, but also one of the best hotels we have stayed in across European cities.

The Gatsby is hidden jewel. It’s a wonderful, little hotel just off the beaten path. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The rooms are great! There is a wonderful restaraunt associated with them. All in all, a great lace to stay in Athens.

The lobby is a little small but there’s not a lot they can do about that and who spends time in the lobby.

Comfortable.

breakfast is made to order. I prefer a buffet to be able to have a selection in the morning. Staff is slow and as a solo traveler, I felt invisible cappuccino ordered was always warm each morning not hot.

The service and hospitality were top notch. Our room was spacious, comfortable and lots of high end finishes including g a heated toilet seat and fancy modern bidet. Fantastic rain shower you never wanted to come out of. We loved the restaurant and bar. Great food, service and bars. Fun party vibe and very pretty. This place is in the heart of everything. Walk out the door and all over downtown Athens near the acropolis. Shops, restaurants, museums. Can’t beat it!

Wish they would have had more space to put clothes away. Plenty of room for our suitcases so it made it ok to live out of them.

Busy location, so noise past my bedtime! Also, the street was difficult to find even for locals.

Every member of the Gatsby staff is gracious and professional. 10 stars for customer service! The rooms are clean. The a la carte breakfast from their adjacent restaurant, is very nice quality. Dinner and bar options are also top quality. Excellent coffee options. The in house massage therapist is excellent, we highly recommend Katarina. We used their dry cleaning service and were very happy with the results.The location is good for walking to all major sites in the city; but you can expect lots of vehicle traffic and exhaust-- even in mid October.

As people who have traveled extensively, we feel that the Gatsby is highly overpriced for what you receive. We know it is possible to have 10 star customer service, clean and comfortable rooms with all the amenities, for less than $550/night. In fact, at this price point, a guest should expect a larger room, with a view of something special, whether a natural environment or a historic landmark. The rooms are in fact quite small, with no views at all. At this price point, one also usually receives a full breakfast buffet, as are available in the larger 5 star hotels.The second complaint: the noise from local bars is extremely loud, usually from 9 pm until midnight. The air pollution from vehicles in downtown Athens is quite bad. We would not return to this location because of the noise and air quality. If you are a person who prefers a firm/supportive mattress, you may find the beds too soft. Again, this is clearly a subjective preference. Once again, the staff of Gatsby Hotel are the BEST you can find anywhere in the world. We were grateful to have enjoyed their kindness.
