Fantastic location—just a 5-minute walk from the neighborhood center and subway, yet tucked away on a quiet street. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, and the room was comfortable.

The gym is quite small, but considering that most hotels in the area don’t have one at all, it’s understandable.

The property was central to where we wanted to walk. The staff was attentive very nice to help us and always cheerful.

Wonderful hotel with an unbeatable location. It made exploring Athens so easy—everything we wanted was nearby. Clean, comfortable, and well run, with friendly staff. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Small room

Breakfast is super , versatile and good quality. Location is prime. Hotel is in the heart of a fashionable district but all in the same time tucked away in a residential corner across a park. Walking distance to Kolonaki cafes and shops in one direction, National gallery in the other direction.

Rooms are a bit dark because of the black furniture, I understand the style but give the size of the room it feels condensed. The beds are on the softer side, not super comfortable

Great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the wine tasting in the evening and drinks on the roof top bar looking out to the Parthenon. Comfortable bed and very quiet throughout the night.

Everything. Stay here! Honestly, in 45 years of business and leisure travel, this was the best lodging experience I’ve ever had. From the cheerful and helpful staff, to the fresh and efficient design of the rooms, to the perfect location and balcony views for a first time Athens visitor, The Modernist was a delightful experience. Upon arrival, we learned that we had been upgraded from the mid-level room we had booked to the finest suite in the hotel (top floor, corner, wrap around balcony with hot tub, and all the amenities given to VIP). When I inquired after figuring it out, they simply said, “Yes, we like to elevate guest’s stays when better rooms are available.” In addition, the incredible breakfast buffet and complimentary evening wine tastings bookended our days beautifully!This is the second The Modernist, after one built in Thessaloniki, and I have no doubt there will e more to follow. And again, the whole experience was attended by a wonderful, helpful team of associates.

Stunning boutique hotel in Kolonaki. Spacious rooms, ideal for three, with comfy beds and luxe touches like Nespresso and rainfall showers. Breakfast is a highlight—fresh yogurt, omelets, pastries, and fruit, all delicious. Staff is incredibly attentive, arranging tours and sharing great local tips. They made us feel right at home. We traveled with our 80 year old mom and it was perfect. Quiet, stylish, and welcoming. 5/5 stars-will definitely come again next year.

We stayed at The Modernist Athens for our last night in the city, and it was such a beautiful experience. The hotel has a very modern style design, and everything felt clean, classy, and stylish. Our Large Room was spacious and came with two balconies – such a treat! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the AC kept the room perfectly cool (very fast as well). I enjoyed the views from our balcony. The location is fantastic – right next to a lovely park, close to several embassies, boutiques, restaurants, and cafe’s.The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful – a great way to start the day. The shower and bathroom in general was perfect and overall, the stay felt like a chic little retreat in the heart of Athens. It was honestly the perfect way to wrap up our two-week trip in Greece.All in all, though, it was a stylish, and comfortable stay – I’d happily return!

That said, a few small downsides: when you first enter, there are only stairs leading up to the reception, and no one is immediately available to help with luggage – you have to go up and ask, which isn’t ideal. There’s also no actual “wardrobe” but I guess it’s part of the theme. It would also be nice if the rooms included robes, and the hotel slippers were very cheap quality (they ripped easily).

The breakfasts were exceptional. The facilities are very pleasant. Location is perfect.

The fitness room is a bit lacking, but I made it work with the equipment that was available. Would recommend more dumbbells.

We stayed at a family room which was very spacious and comfy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing!! Metro station 4 minutes walk and you are 1 stop away from sintagma. We were with a car and it was easy to find a spot to take our luggage in/out. Parking lot 5 mintes walk from the hotel.We highly recommemd this hotel and we will defenitelly be back ?

Staff members are the hotel were efficient, and genuinely warm. Asprilla, the manager, has built a fantastic team and you feel welcomed from the moment you set foot in the lobby.
