    • Great staff! (the owner was particularly attentive). Surprisingly amazing breakfast for such a small hotel. Breakfast is in a lovely room that oversees the outdoor pool. For serious swimmers, this is a must, as access to the pool is direct from the hotel and free of charge. It was -6C outside, but the geothermal pool was a relief. A bit challenging just to get out of the water, but the hotel access is a few meters from the water. The hotel is also located next door to 2 other remarkable sauna and pool attractions and all attractions in Budapest are easily accessible by bus or tram just outside the hotel.
    • Excellent breakfast, helpful staff
    • I do not recommend this hotel.

    Cons -

    • Get your ear plugs!! The walls are extra-thin. So you spend a night between the tram running all night and the TV or the conversation of your next door neighbor. They should sell ear plugs at the reception. It would tremendously help everybody, as I can imagine not to be the only one to complain. It's sad. Else, it would be a little gem hotel.
    • Fix bathroom shower so it doesn't drain as much water on the floor.
    • Very bad experience. This hotel does not match its description at all. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, with an unpleasant smell. The noise at night was unbearable (from the street, corridors, and other guests), making it impossible to sleep. The service was very poor; the staff was unhelpful and not attentive to customers’ complaints. No solution was offered despite reporting the issues.Overall, the organization is bad and the value for money is unacceptable.

The best pool I ever seen. If swimming is important for you this place is the less expensive than trend hotels with big names.

We need more towels (for pool) and robe would be good addition.

Swimming pools are olimpic size, very good if you are an athlete or a swimmer open from 6 am

It was clean and staff was very kind. Andrea’s, the day desk clerk, was exceptionally kind and so full of great information.

Walls were thin to hear neighbors talking.

People location and the swimming pools

I booked at this location because of an old Hungarian waterpolo coach recommended the pool for morning and afternoon training.

Hardly room to sit on the toilet because space was very tight, rooms hollow and noisy neighbors did not help. Breakfast was fine

Updated, comfortable family room with easy access to the pools. The room had beautiful large windows and very high ceilings, it felt very spacious. Pools were very easy to access, and not crowded at all, despite the hot weather during our stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The family room could use some additional hooks- there were 2 towel drying racks but not enough to hang all personal and pool towels and wet swimsuits for 4 people.

Great location, old building with an atmosphere, good breakfast, nice family apartment option

The check-out time is really early for a hotel (10 am), but we had it extended till 12 as we arrived late due to the airline strike.

Great location and easy to access public transportation

Sometimes noisy next to the pool but not enough to prevent me from returning

    10LauraPosted on: 5-23-2025

The pool 100 steps from my room. Open 06:00-18:00. Plenty of time for swimming!

    8BalázsPosted on: 5-22-2025

The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. Convenient breakfast.

The room was quite small. Traffic was sometimes loud.

    8GaryPosted on: 5-1-2025

Access to the large swimming pool was a good perk. Buffet breakfast good Location handy for walking up Buda hills and the Margaret Island. Also close to tram and bus for crossing the whole city or going to airport. Reasonable price given the above.

Can be noisy when swimmers are training at the pool. Didn't bother me much being an early starter but not ideal for those who want to wake late or have a siesta.

Here’s a well-structured, professional yet critical review Disappointing Stay at Császár Hotel – Poor Service and Amenit

My recent stay at Császár Hotel in Budapest was far from satisfactory due to multiple issues with service and basic amenities. First, the air conditioning in my room had no remote control. When I asked the reception, I was told the AC "wasn’t working" and advised to either "turn off the heater" (which wasn’t even on) or open the window—an unacceptable solution, especially in warm weather. Second, when I requested water at reception to take my medicine, I was informed it was "only for staff" and told to drink tap water from the toilet sink instead. This response was unprofessional and dismissive, especially for a paying guest. Lastly, the breakfast quality was subpar, failing to meet even basic expectations. Overall, the hotel’s lack of customer care, functional amenities, and willingness to address guest needs made my stay uncomfortable. I would not recommend Császár Hotel to travelers seeking a hassle-free experience.

    nothing except access to metro

worst is bathroom . can hardky stand inside and they want guests to use the tap to drink water from the same tap inside that tiny little corner
