Pros +
- The breakfast was excellent. Nice quiet hotel. Not too far to walk down tree lined streets to buses. Not far to walk to lovely park
- Good location. Only two blocks from Hero?s Square on a one way road.
- Breakfast is awesome, something different every day. Breakfast staff is really friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff professional. Room spacious enough for 2, fridge and safe available. Location is outstanding, geographical centre of the city
Cons -
- My room does not have air condition, but they do put a fan in the room
- Front desk personnel could be more cheerful and react quicker to the guest (or at Least acknowledge the guest With a nod or a smile if they are busy with something else) arriving to the counter. Also a smile wouldn¿t hurt¿¿
- Only complaint is that we could not get the AC to function well. If you tried to turn on power mode it would automatically go off after 30 minutes to save energy. Which is fine most of the time, but difficult in summer, making the room too warm for us.

Staff were excellent. Hotel was relatively cheap but still had a fancy feel to it. 5 minute walk to M1 metro, which made public transport easy.

Bedroom view
Humid and heating was on all the time, no thermostat in the room, aircon didnt work, TV didnt work
buffet breakfast,big room,safety box
Great location close to park and metro
A couple of the waitresses were a bit snotty
We slept well
I don't think this is a three-star hotel by any sense. Room was so-so and very dated. Staff was helpful sort of. I wouldn't recommend my friends or family to stay at this hotel at all. I would say 1.5 stars tops.
Breakfast and hotel price
great breakfast
Location and value for money are very good.
:0)
I accidentally left my dental brace in the breakfast room, wrapped in a tissue, and it was later thrown into the bin by the staff, who were unaware of it. Once I realized what had happened, they immediately helped and were able to find it. I would therefore like to say a big thank you to the breakfast staff.
It would be better for the staff to know English and to display more positive body language, including smiling.
There were a few positives. The room had good air-conditioning. Being vegan, we had low expectations of the breakfast, but I was relieved to find a few options for non-dairy milks, vegan margarine, and enough food options to get by - various bread, hummus, jams and fruit.
The staff were quite grumpy - their moods were never better than aloof/indifferent. They came across as apathetic. Certainly not happy-to-help. If you insist on staying at this hotel, definitely don't get the basic room - get one of the renovated rooms. We stayed a week (broken up into several bookings, which is why this booking appears to be a one-night stay) and I had to spend a lot of time in the room for work meetings, so I missed amenities such as a kettle and coffee/tea. The beds and pillows are worn-out and could use replacing.
Old-school hotel, but still fine and clean, works fine. Near the famous Andrassy boulevard and Heroes square.
Great location, nice staff
Old carpet, should be changed
Excellent hotel in the heart of the city, near Heroes' Square. The room was big, with new furniture, very comfy beds and pillows, above average wireless Internet, small fridge. Breakfast was very rich and tasty and beer and food at the hotel's restaurant were excellent.
Bathroom, although modern, was a bit small and of the one of the metallic towel hangers fell off during a three night stay at the hotel. Reception and restaurant/bar/breakfast area are a lot older looking than the actual room.
While the hotel could definitely use a renovation because it IS dated, it's actually a very beautiful hotel. It's located about a 6 minute walk from the metro or bus station which was VERY convenient and was about a 10 minute ride to central Buda or Pest either way. The room was pretty spacious for the price. Their breakfast had to have been one of the best European breakfasts I have ever encountered: numerous hot food items, bread, and meat, not just your cold food items and yogurt like other hotels. The staff were very nice and attentive. The shower was small (typical), but the water got very hot and the pressure was amazing. While it was quiet most of the time I was there, for some reason the last night I could hear the people in the room next to me. I wasn't sure if they were just loud or what because I didn't hear anyone any other night.
When I tell you the heat was on, the heat was ON; whether I wanted it on or not. It was almost stifling it was so hot in the room, even with the thermostat off; I ended up having to keep opening the door to the balcony to let some cool air in. I tried changing it to "cool" but I guess it was pre-set to heat. On top of that the mattress was the worst part about the room; it felt like a crib mattress: very firm and didn't have much give. So with those 2 issues I could say that I didn't get more than 4-5 hours of sleep each night because I can't sleep when it's hot AND the mattress wasn't comfortable.
breakfast good, location ok, staff friendly
price for the room ok but way too much for two people ( a whole apartment enough for a family of 10)
Plenty of hot water in the shower, air conditioner controls that didn't need batteries in the middle of the night. Really, it felt like it had just been renovated, everything was so clean. Staff was completely helpful. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent and a good value, saving us from searching the streets before heading out.
The shower enclosure didn't have a door despite mounting holes in the glass. It was difficult to keep water off the floor. We were only given one card key, so if someone wanted to go out while others were staying behind, they might need to wake up or get out of the shower to let them in, because pulling the card from the switch will affect the lights, etc.--to be clear, I didn't ask for a second card, so that may have been available. Obviously street parking can be difficult in Budapest. The parking kiosk did have a option to pay with Apple app, but not with Android. This is a problem because the payment is needed from 0730-1800. Most people don't want to be on the street at 0730 to feed coins(if they have them), or also at check in if before 1800. I propose that the hotel could use the Apple app or a hotel/city partnership to pay our parking or issue a parking card for the windshield.
It was a great location for our purposes. Nice, quiet area and very accessible by public transportation.
There was no coffee maker in the room. There was no iron. These seem to be essential items for a hotel of this quality. Breakfast was not included, but we could pay for it. It was a very continental spread with no healthy options available. We missed oatmeal, fruits, grains, yogurt, granola. These days many travelers try to avoid gluten and dairy. No options were available.
