Pros +
- The hotel is centrally located, close to the bus and tram stops, walking distance to many restaurants. Quite unique with restored vintage building and high ceilings. Free champaign and chocolates as welcome gift.
- The location is perfect. Very near transit and great places to eat, beautiful, etc. etc. The building itself is amazing but I have thoughts (see next question). It sufficed as a place to sleep for two nights. It was safe, comfortable enough, and mostly clean enough.
- The only good thing about this property is the location
Cons -
- It feels like this place was set up like a hedge fund bought it. It's a shame bc the building is beautiful but the rooms are tiny and the aesthetic of the fixtures is dated and kind of feels like the furniture was bought from a discount warehouse; it doesn't match the vibe. I couldn't even open the wardrobe bc the nightstand was right in front of it. I was glad that I was alone bc otherwise there wouldn't have been enough room for luggage. Everything else was perfectly clean but the bathroom appliances had not been cleaned in a while. There was a map at the reception desk of the Christmas markets but they didn't have a copy I could take. It just feels like they're running it as cheaply as possible but while trying to give off a luxury vibe. Also I tried to work from here but the wifi was pretty slow. I wish someone would buy this hotel and make it nice. Even for the decent price per night currently, it was disappointing.
- It is not a proper hotel. It should be marketed as a hostel for student travelers. This is not a fancy boutique hotel. The “hotel” is mixed with other tenants in the same building. No proper signage, or entrance. Looks dirty all over.
- The bed was uncomfortable and other than the room, the place needed maintenance/painting.

The location was perfect!
The bed was uncomfortable and other than the room, the place needed maintenance/painting.
The location is close to the center and all the attractions we wanted to visit.Had everything you needed ie fridge safe a bottle of champagne waiting for us which was a nice touch and clean.
The entrance was a bit tricky to find, as the signage from the sidewalk was not very clear. Once inside, the aesthetic appeal was lacking. However, to note there’s a hostel and other businesses in the same building. Despite these minor issues, we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
The location was excellent - steps from the Erzebet Bridge with shorts walks to Rudas and Gellert bathhouses, Dohany Synagogue, and access to multiple forms of public transportation. I paid to upgrade to a room with a balcony, which I think was worth it - the view we had was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evening with a glass of Tokaji wine. The building is pretty old, but the rooms felt updated and had everything we needed. The bathroom was tiny but the shower was a good size, with a rainfall shower head as a bonus. When we went to one of the bathhouses, the front desk gave us towels, which was nice - you just have to ask for them. It also seemed like Giselle shared the building with a hostel called Maverick, so there was a shared kitchen area where we could get silverware and additional plates and cups. The corridors were unlocked via our room keys, so it all felt very secure even in a shared building. The front desk gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in the city, and offered to arrange an airport shuttle for us for 15000ft (around USD$45), but we ended up getting the 100E bus to the airport for around USD$7/person because the pick-up spot is about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.
It was a little difficult to find the reception area when we first arrived - even the front door to the building wasn't obvious, but it is between a pizza shop and a currency exchange place (granted, it may have been easier had we not been tired from lugging around large suitcases and luggage after traveling from Vienna via train.) I suppose it does help keep the building more secure, as it is on a busy street. There are some steps in the foyer area once you get into the building, as reception is on the first floor. There is a small elevator through the door to the left, but you don't get the door code until you check in, so I recommend having the person who did the booking go and check in while another person watches the luggage, and then go use the elevator, instead of dragging your suitcases up the stairs to reception like we did. :)
Perfect location, big room, good view from balcony, very helpful staff
No sleepers, no toothbrush
Property was in city center easy to access by public transport
The Air conditioner wasn't working properly as the day was very hot
Historic building with lots of charm and cozy, clean rooms. Located close to everything.
Historic building centrally located one the city.
Room was a little small…
Quiet, close, safe
the entrance wasn't clean and accessible
Location is exeptional. Room was spacious and clean.
The only real problem was the bed. You can feel all of the mattress springs and pillows are as hard as rocks. So neck was in pain after some hard sleep.
The location is great!! Access to public transport and walking distance to most places. There’s lidl nearby so it was convenient.
The internet connecting was terrible. Had trouble staying connected from our room.
I did a check out before 3 nights and they did not refund my money for 3 nights
Beautiful property located behind Aldi. The prior reviews set us up to expect a property that is behind shops but once inside it had a unique charm. David and the lady behind the counter were welcoming, social. They offered us a detail overview of the city with map markings, we relied on some of this during our trip. The rooms were on the 4th floor and thank god they had elevators?. The room was just like in the photos, with one level above another. Overall, highly reccomend for families and solo travelers alike.
There was only one A/C which was very weak and not sufficient at all. We also did not realize that cleaning tag needs to be put, so the rooms were uncleaned and hot when we returned at 11PM ?
Loved the location and the building. the room was incredible!
The front entrance was hard to find but I called and they were super helpful!
Old world charm and feels meets modern facility. clean and helpful staff
Location is great. Close to all manner of things.
Very small elevator and during business hours there were long waits.
I stayed here for one night and overall had a very good experience. The staff were warm, professional, and very welcoming, which made check-in quick and easy. The location is excellent — right in the center of Budapest, close to everything you’d want to see, even with limited time.
The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for a short stay. The only downside was the Wi-Fi — the connection was quite weak and unstable, which could be frustrating if you need to get work done or make video calls. Other than that, everything was great, and I’d definitely consider staying here again for a quick trip.
Looks just like the pictures! Water temp in bathroom was easy to control and view was gorgeous. The entrance is very grand, but they sent over instructions via email prior to arrival so it was easy!Front desk was helpful and luggage storage came in handy while we waited for our room.We were delighted by the space, and the loft bed was good for the 2 night stay. Enough space for 2 ladies to prepare for a night out comfortably and privately. Heater in bathroom ?
Very central for touristy stuff, I was looking for more of a local experience, but it's a good location for first timers. Also the entrance is up some steps, so beware those with rolling luggage ? These are personal preference and not reflective of the property itself!
