Promenade City Hotel is one of those classic European boutique hotels set in a centuries old building. It's a hidden gem slipped into the perfect area for sight-seeing Budapest. It’s wonderful, Retro but yet also modern, in a great location on the Pest side of Budapest. Situated in a lively, energetic area just blocks from City Market and the Jewish Quarter with easy access to restaurants, cafes, and transit or walking to Museums and the Parliament Building. Room was spacious, very comfortable, well-appointed European modern furniture and included a nice refrigerator. Staff was wonderful. At check-in, Peter, made us feel welcomed and saw to our needs and concerns for the next days’ travel and assisted us with luggage storage while we toured the city prior to check-in. It included a great continental breakfast where we were helped by Kira.

Walls paper thin, hard to get to with taxi as it’s on a pedestrian street.

The hotel was right in the middle of Christmas Market and easy access to other shops and Danube River.

Not much we didn’t like about the property. The sign could be bigger as we walked by it initially. It is easy to miss.

Everything!The reception was very kind and called us half way to the airport because my wife forgot her phone.

Very noisy, elevator and adjoining rooms. No oversight by staff of late night parties and noise.

Major Issue with the breakfast setup. The breakfast room is tiny and cramped, with very limited seating and little space to move around. On several mornings, there were no available tables, so nowhere to sit. I had to come back later to get a table, only to find that most of the food was already gone and no more would be brought out. It seems the room simply is not large enough to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. It was disappointing to miss breakfast on a few of the days because of this issue. The hotel really needs a larger breakfast area with more seating.

We chose this hotel to position us for a river cruise to the Black Sea the next day. The location for that was perfect as our ship docked a 10 min walk away. It is in an active area with plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping close by. As I mentioned the river is close so it's perfect for strolling along the Danube. The room was nice size with all the amenities you'd expect. The breakfast was exceptional, multiple hot & cold choices and a great coffee machine.

The shower had a hinged glass door that didn't cover the whole shower. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but the water pressure was so strong (which we like) it went right through the hinge. Luckily we noticed it with minimal leakage, just be aware where that nozzle is pointing. We enjoyed our short stay there and would definitely recommend this hotel.

It was close to city center. Staff were nice.

Rooms were too small, not 218sq2, not enough room for two people to walk around, no view. Beds were uncomfortable, every time we took a shower the entire bathroom got wet from floor to walls. No lobby area to sit with friends, only one computer to check us in, so waiting was long with no where to sit and wait. Breakfast room was small and often had to wait for a table to open up. Restaurants and shops around the hotel were more expensive than others.

Location was great, but the hotel was disappointing.

The photos made it look much nicer than it really was. The bathroom — especially the shower — was quite uncomfortable and even a bit unsafe for my older mother. The breakfast was average, and the coffee was terrible. Staff could have been friendlier and more welcoming.

Nice convenient location. Nice staff, clean basic room. Very modern. LIFT. Good shower water pressure.

Toilet does not flush well.

Our room was below the dining room so in the morning there was a lot of noise of moving chairs and people working above us and moving tables also and it woke up. It woke us up. I asked the hotel to move because of the noise and they told me there was any room and that was frustrating

The location is perfect. Near to tourist spots, shopping area and restaurant or lets say almost everything you need in Budapest. Transportation to and from the airport and easy as well. The room have huge window to provide enough sunlight (No view). Bathroom is big and have small bathtub and shower. Hotel is clean as well. Staff are amazing. And Chef Reni's food selection for breakfast is amazing

Just hoping they can provide room slippers and water bottle for the duration of your stay and not just only on your 1st day and the rest you have to pay. Not a negative but the hotel does not provide any toiletries.

Location was very central to all tourist attractions and the staff was very professional, kind and helpful.

2 out of 3 night there was working during the night with electric saws and workers yyelling to each other. When I inquired at the desk the response was there was not work at the hotel. The room was in the atrium area of the elevator and it echoed through there. Un able to sleep.

Located in the main shopping street of Budapest, where cars are not allowed. This makes it both convenient for shopping, dining, and other activities, but it's hard to get to by taxi. It requires a walk through crowds to get to the hotel, which is not easy to find.

It is a good hotel for the price and location.

LocationIt’s in a great spot, close to everything you might need—shops, restaurants, and close to Danube.

NoiseIt was a bit noisy—mainly due to the elevator, which can be heard from some rooms. I had trouble sleeping the first night, but the staff were helpful and moved me to a quieter room. If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d recommend requesting a room away from the elevator.
