- I loved the clean facilities, comfy beds, curtains, and large showers. The reception staff was welcoming and always available to answer any questions I had. Nice location next to the Central Market and trams. Ended up extending my stay and staying for 6 days!
- It was close to tram and some sites. The breakfast buffet and access to shuttle to airport and things to do.
- This was my hostel for my entire stay in Budapest (July 3-July 5). I am very glad to have booked this hostel. In a nutshell: staying here is a great value for money. My comments here are in no particular order, just my comments for each general thing that I remembered.1) Very good prices. In my experience w/ hostels, all-female rooms tend to be more expensive that co-ed ones. This was not the case for this. When I booked this thru booking.com, it was just less than 5 euros more expensive than the co-ed one. You can even add 10-euros for a buffet breakfast (but I didn't in my case). For context, my room costs 74.20 eur, including the city tax and I booked this 16 days before my trip. Towel is free which is great.2) Safe. Budapest is a safe city in general but staying in an all-female room was great. I have stayed in co-ed hostels before and it was okay but I still needed to be a little more alert. The beds each had thick curtains for privacy and a huge locker for each occupant across the bunk beds. They also provide a huge locker for each bed that can only be opened with the room keycard.3) Comfortable. Budapest is known to be a party city and certainly this hostel has its own party activities. I was a little worried when I saw a videoke session going on in my first night that was still going on at 23:20-ish at the lobby/reception/bar/buffet area. But I am really glad the noise was non-existent when I went up to my room. It is also really hot in Budapest when I visited but this room has AC which is a life-saver.4) Clean. I stayed in room 105 and it shares the huge toilet-and-shower area with room 106 which is also a female only room.Shower and toilet areaThere are 3 toilets and 3 showers. Each shower cubicle is enclosed by an actual door and not a curtain like some hostels I staid in.

- The place did not correspond to the photos. It is a worn and outdated place. Thankfully the sheets at least were clean.
- Non that I can think of. I wish i would have stayed longer.

This is a hostel so expectations have to be adjusted but for a hostel it is truly excellent.
Extremely clean , great location and very social experience. The staff , particularly Luis from the reception, where very friendly
This was, without question, my favorite hostel of my entire Europe trip, and one of the safest, most compassionate places I’ve ever stayed.During my stay, I unexpectedly had to go to the emergency room. The staff didn’t just point me in the right direction, but they actively helped me find the closest ER, reassured me, and handled everything with such calm kindness. I had to check out that same day, and they took care of all my luggage for me while I was gone. When I returned, they went above and beyond: they let me shower after checkout, stay as long as I needed, and leave only once I felt well enough. When I suddenly needed feminine hygiene items, they immediately helped without hesitation or judgment.I truly cannot express how safe, supported, and genuinely cared for I felt here. Suzy and the rest of the team, including staff whose names I didn’t get, treated me like a human being, not just a guest. On top of the incredible care, the hostel itself is exceptional. The bathrooms were the best I experienced on my entire trip: spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed. There were multiple showers available at all times, all extremely clean, which made everything so much easier and more comfortable. The kitchens were beautiful and aesthetically calming, making them genuinely relaxing spaces to be in rather than just functional. The location near the Central Market is perfect, but what truly sets Maverick Central Market apart is the people and the atmosphere they create. I didn’t have a single bad experience here. This place felt like a home base during a vulnerable moment in my trip, and I will forever be grateful. If you’re deciding where to stay in Budapest, I would choose this hostel without hesitation.
This is by far the best hostel I have stayed at and experienced so far. It's a huge, gorgeous hostel located near the tram stop 'Zsil Utca'.1. The hostel was super clean. It smelt of jasmine & lavendar 24 hrs a day!2. Spacious toilet, plenty of spacious showers equipped with body wash on each floor3. There are three kitchens in the hostel. One will find plenty of crockery and kitchenware on all three of them (including fridge)4. Well decorated, beautiful interiors!5. The bar/breakfast area was super spacious, well lit & the ambience is great!6. The rooms were posh, clean, and warmly lit. Each bed had a bedside study light, curtain and space to keep personal stuffs!7. I celebrated the New Year in the hostel and it was the best thing I did in Budapest. I got the chance to socialize and celebrate with local hungarians and many like-minded travellers. 8. Don't miss out on the terrace! It's small but sexy!
1. Most of the staff were good and helpful but there was one particular lady at the reception who appeared a bit cold and kept me waiting to answer a query although there was no one before me in the queue. Her behaviour was unfriendly.2. The coffee and tea jars were empty. It stayed empty straight for the 4 nights I stayed.
Clean and nice stuff
Sharing toilet and showing room
Good atmosphere, friendly staff at reception. They make an effort making people feeling welcome. Got upgraded my room by Soroush with great service level. Thanks! Recommending!
Very affordable accommodations for people who want to explore the city. Great place for meeting people from around the world. Facilities are basic, but modern and clean. Staff was also friendly. Soroush was very kind and helpful. Definitely looking forward to a longer stay next time I'm visiting :)
Everything was perfect in this dorm, every room has its own showers and toilets the beds have full coverage curtains that block the lights. It has elevators. People were nice! Each floor has a kitchen as well.
Only if they have activities.
- spacious room with a huge locker for each bed. The locker is accessible using the room key, which is very convenient.- curtains!!! It keeps the bed very dark!!- no squeaky sound from the bed!- the bathroom is spacious and separated between the toilet and shower. - each floor has a shared kitchen, but there is no microwave on the 1st floor.- the male staff on the night shift when I arrived was very helpful. I got stuck with my key, and he came to help with a smiley face.- the location is good, close to public transport as well.
- no microwave in the 1st floor kitchen
This is best hostel i ever been! The location and facilities were excellent! We live in 4th beds room and maybe it’s sometimes small but we also had our lockers in room. Beds were like capsules (with sockets and light (Bed was very comfortable!)
i liked how comfortable the bed was and that they had a kitchen area on the floor i was staying on
the elevator didn't work so i had to carry my luggage up and down the stairs
Very convenient, within walking distance to shopping, transport and ruin bars by 10 -15 minutes. Neighborhood environment not full of push to see every thing and do on short notice. A bit more relaxed Neighborhood. Great socialising hostel, with on site bar hostel sponsored and organised activities. Helpful and kind and informative staff. Continuously attentive housekeeping staff. Good showers, spacious areas in WC.A few kitchen and eating areas throughout, though many use for work amd recovery from exploring the city. So can sometimes get busy. Housekeeping staff does best to keep everything presentable.
Dorm rooms sometimes are not fresh smelling, or absorb the personal effects of guests. Maybe more consistent air freshener. Kitchen use is kind of worn, many cooking utensils and cookware shows heavy wear, scratched non stick pans without handles. Not every kitchen space is the same, so hot kettle for water and toaster is not always available. It is common kitchen so everyone should be responsible and clean.
-The Location is good i didn’t use any transportation to explore the city. -The property is Clean.-The stuff was kind and helpful.
Overall, the service was excellent. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Rayen at the front desk stood out with his kindness and professionalism, she patiently answered all of our questions and made the check‑in experience smooth. we will stay here again on our next visit.
All was good
Very cool staff, they were so gentle, it is VERY clean, the bathrooms are large with very good showers, hot water, so much better than other hostels I’ve stayed around the world. Towels for free which is excellent (at least in my reservation they were free) - it’s so bad to have to pay 2-3 euros every time you need a towel in other hostels, it’s a shame. There is an elevator, so no problems carrying the bags, and the lockers are large with a very cool system to open and lock with your room card. Excellent!!!
Nothing, it was all perfect.
Comfort and cleanliness
Location and room was little cold
This was my second time staying here and I'm going to continue giving it a 10. It's a very clean hostel, with comfortable beds, extremely clean bathrooms, and a very friendly staff, especially Livia and Rayen. The manager from Iran is very handsome and Efficient, I had lost my bag with my documents and wallet, I missed my flight, at least they were kind enough to let me store my luggage and use the reception sofa, for that detail I am very grateful, Thank God the taxi driver getting my bag back is the most important thing,Thanks Livia!
This is constructive criticism aimed at improvement: the breakfast is very expensive for the poor quality; they advertise it as a buffet, but it isn't either, lower the price or improve the quality of the breakfast With good quality products, the girls who work at the breakfast bar who are not part of the hostel staff should take a course in good manners and good customer service, especially how to make scrambled eggs, pathetic!
