About
The 4-star-superior Continental Hotel Budapest opened in 2010 at the former site of Hungaria Bath, a protected Art Nouveau building. Each room category features Art Deco style and comes with free WiFi, soundproofed windows and air conditioning. Equipment includes an LCD satellite TV with an info guide to Budapest’s main attractions. The bathrooms have a hairdryer, free toiletries, shower or bathtub. A mini-bar, coffee and tea-making facilities, newspapers and a laptop-size safe are also at the guests disposal. Wellness facilities include a sauna and infrared cabin. The fitness room is equipped with high-tech cardio and isotonic machines, and there is a massage service. Overlooking the grand entrance hall, Gallery Café serves traditional coffee specialties, such as the Kapucíner, with whipped cream and chocolate chips. The Hotel Continental's lobby lounge area faces the inner courtyard and offers live piano music. Araz Restaurant serves Hungarian-French dishes, uses 21st century technologies and includes a cocktail bar. Guests can also dine on the terrace located in the inner courtyard. A rich buffet breakfast is served daily. Blaha Lujza tér M2 Metro Station, on the M2 line, is 820 feet away and the Great Synagogue is 1476 feet down the road.

Pros +
- The hotel was in a good location close to public transportation, cafes, and restaurants. The lobby was beautiful and the breakfast was an added value. The rest of the hotel is a bit boring. The standard room was too small so I paid for an upgrade.
- The rooftop pool was a plus, with plenty of seating. The sauna and gym were not the biggest but were nice. Felt secure and our room was always clean when we returned. Helpful staff at the front desk. Great location - walking distance to so much.
- Lovely lobby. Room very comfortable and well appointed. Bar is lovely (but didnt discover it till last day - it's on the mezzanine floor). HVAC didnt work the first day- superb service recovery by staff to repair (chocolates delivered form my trouble).
Cons -
- The rooms are not very large and nice for the hotel rating.
- There was construction happening in the lobby area. Not a big deal but was loud at times. Also, the hair dryer would only operate for about a minute or so and then shut off. Would take some time for the hair dryer to turn on again.
- May seem trivial- but in room coffee maker is for instant coffee. Missed having drip coffee first thing in morning

The location was excellent.
The staff weee rude and the hotel was gilded. The outlets didn¿t work in the room and the thermostat was broken. The staff when asked about it refused to do anything or have maintenance work on it.
