About
The King Charles Hotel is located in the quiet part of town of Mala Strana, below Prague Castle on the hillside. The hotel is near the famous Cathedral of St. Vitus, and is thus part of the former Royal Route. The Charles Bridge is just a short walk away. The Malostranská underground station is approximately 7 minutes walk away. This romantic boutique hotel is set in a beautiful baroque building built in 1693 - one of the most picturesque sights of the Lesser Town. A stylish lobby area with 24-hour reception, a breakfast restaurant and an inviting restaurant. In the 19 exceptional rooms you feel the atmosphere of the former, aristocratic life by the old beams, antique furniture and portraits of Czech kings. The King Charles Hotel provides historic accommodations with modern amenities. Satellite TV, a mini-bar and hairdryers are featured in every room. Due to center location, there is no parking possible in the closest proximity. Public parking is a 5-minute walk away or valet parking is available at the site.

Pros +
- Good location; short walk down to tram stops, Charles Bridge and very close to Prague Castle main entrance. Spacious, comfortable rooms.
- Nicely decorated hotel, a good location near the castle, but the rooms are rather dated, especially the bathrooms. Bathtub was not cleaned by the roomservice (the rest of the bathroom was)
- Location,breakfast wow,staff siper friendly,room incredible comfortable and lovely old style decor,highly recommend!Everything fantastic!!!
Cons -
- Bathrooms a little old, however not too bad.
- The lift was not great and doors wouldn’t open so it goes back down to the ground floor and back up again.
- The bathroom needs renovation, the bathroom window goes inside the hall and it’s really strange. They left us a gift with two snaps shots but it’s strange that it was just poured in the glass, pretty odd. The floors were dirty.

The hotel is stunning with painted ceilings and beautiful staircase and architecture, room is spacious and beds are comfy. It was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was excellent everything you would want. Location is great very near the castle and we walked everywhere to get to the old town.

It’s pretty authentic with all the design but does look better on the photos than in reality.

The water pressure in the shower was good when the shower worked. The location was quiet and accessible via taxis. The continental breakfast was perfectly fine. The bed was firm, comfortable, clean sheets, the room was generally quite clean. The staff were generally pleasant.
I'm doing a review in a photo as its not enough to write here, see photos. There is a list, I highlighted some to hotel staff, I stopped as it wasn't being solved anyway. I took photos, I also took video of the flickering lights issue which made us feel like we were having a seizure & uncomfortable. The hotel advertised services it just doesn't have, the standards are NOT there for a hotel of its advertised caliber. It is a nice, historic hotel, that alone does not 'sell' a guest nor improve the experience if basics are not met. I'm going to list items in order of severity.1A) The towels. I cannot understate how unimpressed we were at the lack of condition of the towels. On the 2nd day, we were left only a single large towel between 2 guests. I went to the front desk, who claimed there was "only 1 size of towel per room", he handed me a hand towel which was torn and ripped. I asked for the larger size, this was the only size he had to offer me. Lets be clear, there are larger towels stocked in the rooms, hand towel and bathmat for the shower. I was given a hand towel.2B) The Towels, Again, but worse! On the 3rd day we were given the most disgusting towels. It was immediately seen there were 'Brown spots' (clear feces wipes). These were not our original towels simply rehung. We used the torn hand towels between us.3) The Flickering lights. 3x Dimmer switches in room, 2 missing their knobs/dials, turned up to max, Lights flickered so often we ended up not using the main lights at all.4) The mini-bar is non existent. Mini fridge in the room, empty, useless. Should be stocked in-room. You have to call the front desk, order what you want to be delivered in 15 mins or less. That is "room service" not a minibar. Having called without answer, I went down to the lobby. unmanned at the time, most of the time I did see someone, but the appeal of something in the room & not available, was lost.
Sited close to Prague Castle, quiet location, decor and furnishings unusual and fun.
No complaints
Nice, spacious and warm room, pretty good internet, comfy beds
Loved the historic furnishings, beams and art work. Breakfast was fabulous.
Location was perfect. Close to the action but so very quiet at night. Great breakfast
Great location and nice old style room above the pedestrian alley. Breakfast was pretty good also.
Air-con would’ve been nice in summer heat, but understandable in an old building. Bathroom was big, but the showerbooth way too small.
The room and the stairs. The position is wonderful. Next to the castle in the heart of Mala Strana. Nice and professional staff.
The room was too hot, but I think they were the hottest days in Prague (and in Europe) of all time.
Interior is really cool. Feels like you are back in time!
No air con, but I understand this is difficult in Prague
Good location, close to the castle. Hotel had character, staff all friendly.
Location is great, very close to Prague Castle and walking distances to the other main touristic objectives. The room was nice and big, staff was very helpful.
The breakfast was very poor and the same every morning.
Large and very clean room, the location of the hotel was perfect, there was no noise at all and the staff was very attentive, pleasant and very professional.
everything was to our liking, recommend it to our friends and family
Very cosy room, idyllic atmosphere.Very helpful staff, although not able to sort the problems put.
Poor breakfast. Very small breakfast room; few tables, randomly occupied by unpolite guests who spend the whole morning there. At weekends you must cue for more than 20 minutes to ger your breakfast and barely get what’s left from other guest. We suggest that staff organise a better planning . All guests might need to save their time for orher activites.
Really good staff, room, bath and breakfast
