- The host was very pleasant and helpful.
- Very convenient location, close to everything. Very kindly staff, responding to and resolving all requests quickly. Highly recommend.
- Friendly staff, nice location with local food/grocery options. It was easy to get the tram from the airport to Garibaldi station and about a 10 minute walk.We ate breakfast at a local Boulanger just 2mins walk from the hotel each day which was great. We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on their food. The room was small but nice and had a balcony which was also nice.
Cons -
- Room is very small, walls do not have a good sound proof
- It would be nice to have a small kettle in the room with some mugs and tea/coffee. I can't imagine it would cost a lot but I think it would make a big difference for guests staying there. The noise of doors slamming and people talking in the corridors are quite loud so it did wake us up at times but it wasn't a massive problem for us.
- Upon arrival friday evening (April 11th) we encountered quite a rude older male receptionist we tried our best to speak french -one of our group has particularly good french but the man never engaged in conversation or even just a few polite words- not what a receptionist front of house should be like it was very off putting and unprofessional. There were lovely female receptionist who engaged alot better which is appreciated.

Hotel was in a good location, clean and overall met our requirements for the duration of our stay.

There were three beds
No hot water in the shower, super firm bed that was extremely uncomfortable, and blood stains on the carpet
I've read various reviews before our stay, so my expectations were not high. I'm happy to say the hotel exceeded my expectations.Great value for money. Yes, the room was small, but this is a 3-star hotel in France, so that's to be expected. The beds were comfortable. Everything was clean, room, sheets, towels, bathroom. Some people complained about sewage smell or mouldy bathroom, but ours was spotless. The location is great if you plan to visit the surroundings. Nice Riquier train station is 10 minutes away, so it is easy to go to Cannes, Monaco, Eze, Menton, Italy and other places along the railroad. Additionally, bus 600 stops in the street behind the hotel, I believe it also goes to Monaco/Eze/Menton. The hotel is within the walking distance from the Old Town and Garibaldi square, so it is easy to go to the airport. This location worked well for us, as sightseeing was the purpose of our trip. If you want to go to beach, that it's better to book somewhere closer to the promenade.I saw some people leaving negative reviews because of the construction works in the street in front of the hotel. We were warned about it during the booking process, so that's the risk we took. It would be unfair to complain about it. I must say that during our stay, there were no works in the street and it was quiet. Also, there were no issues with water supply, there was hot water and the pressure was great. It is also unfair to leave a bad review for hotel because there is no parking around or because the parking in Nice is expensive. Whenever I rent a car, I filter and search hotels with private parking. You cannot blame any hotel for the lack of public parking or/and high parking prices, it's on city of Nice.We were able to check in late, a bit after midnight, and there was a luggage room, so we were able to explore the city on our last day without having to drag our suitcases around. The check out time is great, you don't have to...
The internet was slow and the signal was weak, we were not always/everywhere able to connect. I would suggest hotel management to invest a little into better internet connection, that's not expensive.Yes, the walls are thin and you could hear people in the hall a bit, but I brought ear plugs and I was able to sleep very well. The tables in the dining area are to small, it's not so comfortable for two to ear. Perhaps if the tables were square, not round, it would be better. Thought, the room itself was small, so I am not sure if it would be possible to fit larger tables, or tables of different shape. Overall, it's not that big of a deal.Yes, the rooms are small, but you can see that in the pictures and it's to be expected. Nevertheless, we were comfortable in a 3-person room.
Staff was great. Room comfort and location were spot on. Breakfast was excellent. Near tram station, old town and all stores.
Comfy bed
Small bathroom, could not close the door while using the toilet.
There was good bread at the breakfast buffet, and the coffee was also fine. However, by the third day of my stay, there were hardly any fresh fruits left. The staff was in general friendly and helpful.
There was a very unpleasant gutter smell in the bathroom; also the floor of my room was strangely tilted, with one corner of the room being more than 30cm higher than the opposite corner.
Distance from Train station. Also near by bus station. Comfy bed.
Small room.
Location but there a huge renovation project going on right in front of the hotel. This was not specified by Booking.com when I made the reservation
Rooms need refurbishing, very old furniture, sound insulation in the room is very bad, I basically could hear the snoring of the guy in the next room. Huge road work going on right in front of the hotel. Noise all day long.
We wanted an active holiday to look around in Nice, Cannes, and Monaco/Monte Carlo with a nice place to sleep and have breakfast. The staff was very kind and helpful, the room was clean, the breakfast was always fresh and lovely with croasans, baguettes, delicious cheeses, crumbled eggs, bacon, cereals, olives, fresh vegetables and fruits, ect and there was gluten free options as well. There wasn't an iron and ironing board in the room, but it was accessible when we needed it. I missed the kettle from the room, but there was a coffee/tea/hot water machine available for 24/7 in the dining area. The location was perfect for us to get the tram, buses, and train and many kinds of restaurants. Lidle was close. The old part of the town with the shops and alleys was easily accessible on foot. We were absolutely satisfied with the Hotel Relais Acropolis.
It is very central and easy to walk to places or even take the public transportation. The bed was also very comfortable. Even though there is an ongoing construction in front of the hotel the windows are thick enough to not let any noise through. Also the curtains darken the room perfectly for a good night sleep. The room was very spacious as well and had a full body mirror. The cleaning lady also changed our towels daily (positive because otherwise they never dried due to the bathroom design - I do take in consideration that this isn’t environmental friendly but due to the circumstances stated in the negativ aspects this was a positive factor)
The layout of how everything was placed was not thought through. There isn’t any plug in or close enough to the bathroom, so if you want to straighten your hair/ blow dry it or do your beard etc. it’s difficult if you want to use your own tool (they have a in the wall installed hair dryer - not a powerful one though). The shielding bathtub glass for the shower doesn’t at all prevent water from spilling from the bathtub to the floor when you take a shower as it leaks. Also there isn’t any extractor hood or similar in the bathroom, which gives it an awful smell of the water that falls into the cracked bathroom floor, which you obviously cannot wipe. that smells then spreads to the room even if you keep the bathroom door closed. Since the water flows under the tiles the bathroom was always humid and therefore nothing would dry (e.g towls). I wouldn’t recommend going barefoot into the bathroom as the floor tiles aren’t set and you could cut your feet. The room also doesn’t really have a main light just one in the entrance by the door that doesn’t light up the room enough by it self. For “enough” light you need to use the two bedside lamps. I’ve stayed in a lot of 3 star hotels and this definitely wouldn’t fall under that category anymore (in my opinion and at the time of my journey September 2024). The money value for what we got wasn’t what one would expect and specially not of a 3 star hotel. The carpet floor also had many stains, that one can only assume what it was from as it was directly next to the bed. There wasn’t a fridge or a safe in the room. All in all I wouldn’t recommend a long stay at this hotel. If you are staying for 2 nights it’s fine. I took my time to write this in hopes that it either influences the hotel to improve these issues and or to help out other travelers with their bookings. <3
They didn’t have water running at night and the staff was very rude to me I tried to ask a few questions in English and he simply ignored me because I do not understand French .
Everything
The hotel was clean and everyday room service which was good, we put our towels in front of the door and got new ones everyday. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The location was good in terms of very close to the tramway and train station, we had opportunities to do day trips such as visit Villefranche-Sur-Mer and Monaco. However, we were a bit far from the beach which we didn’t like. We had to walk far and sometimes take the tramway, even though it is a bit expensive.
The rooms are a bit small and the walls are very thin which means we could hear everything, our upstairs neighbours were very loud which disrupted our sleep. The breakfast could vary a bit from day to day, so it isn’t the same thing everyday.
Location is very good and staff are helpful and nice
Small room (doesn't smell nice when you enter. Have to open the window every time)No proper isolation, can hear guests in other rooms and in hall (very annoying especially having loud guests close by)
Near beach
Not every plug was worked. Light wasn't enough. The cleaning lady wasn't nice. The room wasn't large enough
Nice clean rooms and comfy beds
Staff weren’t particularly welcoming but didn’t affect our stay
The hotel is located in the center and every sightseeing is reachable. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very enjoyable ?
Location was ok
Old, very small rooms, didn’t look like the pictures at all, stuff didn’t help girls with very heavy baggage to get to the room
