Hotel Helvetique

Location is perfect and very easy walk to amazing restaurants, cafes and other fun things to see.

I do not like the fact that you leave your key at the hotel because they rarely checked our last name or anything to confirm we were the guests staying in the room of the key we requested.

Clean and spacious room. Good location between the beach and the train station.

My room was left unlocked by housekeeping and my things had been moved/ gone through. I was very upset as a solo female traveler by this violation. I put the do not disturb sign on my door the next day and made sure to notify the concierge of the incident and asked to make sure no one would enter my room. I returned later in the day and my room was made up with the do not disturb sign placed back in my room. I felt extremely violated and upset. When I told the evening concierge, his excuse was that housekeeping didn’t speak English - the do not disturb sign had FIVE different languages on it, so not a good excuse. The next morning, the female concierge couldn’t care less and said the reason they cleaned my room is because I had the sign turned to the “please make up my room” side. I triple checked my sign before leaving because I was so paranoid about leaving my room after being violated, so I know that is untrue. Very disappointed with how the situation was handled and nothing was offered to compensate my poor experience.

The location was great, the staff were always on reception and were polite, overall it is a very nice place to stay...right in the heart of the city near to everything.

For me the bed was a bit small as I am around 190cm .. but it wasnt a big problem. It is an old building so the lift was a little small and sometimes we had to wait a bit for it to arrive.

There are a couple of points I love about this hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything. The room was super clean, tidy and nice; it was cleaned every day. Location is amazing, and it takes max 5 min to be in the main square.

Everything was super great. nothing to complain

The hotel is perfectly situated, just 5 minutes away from the Promenade des Anglais and also seconds away from Avenue Jean Médecin. Our hotel room was decent, good bed (twin beds put together), the shower was great, water pressure was great. The room had a large window which overlooked the back of the hotel, so nothing interesting there. We turned on the AC, and it didn't work. We didn't fuss about it because we would be out all day, which we were. Overall, I'd give this hotel a 7.5 due to the location, proximity to popular spots, and convenience. If you're looking for a simple place to stay while saving a few $$$, this place is perfect for you.

Wifi sucked; it seems like there was a limit to the number of devices you could connect to, and it was super slow.

Location was perfect. Right near the Place Masséna where we had lovely mornings ordering coffee and croissant in one of the cafés.Windows provided good soundproofing from street noise. Balcony was supercute.Staff was great!

A small and slow elevator. But it is a minor problem.

The location of the property was good and the staff was very nice

We did not know that you had to reserve parking so there was no parking available. We had to go to a garage and pay an extra €25 for the night. The rooms were old and very tired. The sink in the bathroom would not drain so that it was hard to wash our faces and brush our teeth. The bed was old and very uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible.

They agreed to store our luggage, as we had a gap in time between check out and our departing transport. My bag was given away to another guest who had left. They kept saying they would find and send the bag to our next destination, but did not act on it, and our next Hotel in Cagnes-sur-mer helped track it down. Hotel Indigo in Cagnes-sur-mer found the bag that Helvetique gave away!

The place was clean and well presented

I had to pay through a separate website which I was unsure of but it worked in the end, just a bit weird because I have never had to do that before.

The location is just perfect, near the old Nice, beach, shops and restaurants

Really convenient location

The room had an unpleasant odour, the furniture did not seem particularly clean, there was not enough space to access the bed from both sides. Definitely the actual room did not look like the one in the pictures.

Good location between train station and old town, close to transport to the airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Able to store luggage prior to check in.

Staff was friendly and accomodatibg, (wake up call and booked a very early taxi) Room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

Our stay was brief so we did not take full advantage of what the hotel had to offer. (ie breakfast and lounge area_
