Pros +
- The breakfast was very complete, the location was great, lots of (tiny) windows for a good aircirculation!
- The hotel decorations look really great and oldish. But it comes with a price (no elevator, no ac). The location is a little bit far from the centre (20 minutes walking), so for some people it could be an issue.
- Hotel is beautiful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing.
Cons -
- The showersink left a strong smell which was only to be stopped temporarily by running water through; there were quite some musquito's, and a lot of traces from other people's fights with them too
- The bed was a little too worn/soft for our liking!
- No airconditioning in the room and neither a fan. They didn't hadn't any, so the first 2 nights was horrible. And also no elevators. Faucet was broken and the water dripping all night, als well as the toilet

The workers were nice

Breakfast was amazing, location is good and staff lovely. I liked the building, especially the reception area and the breakfast room.
Bathroom would need refurbishment.
Quiet but very ease to walk to the old town or take a tram or bus.Delightfully old building, creaking floorboards, but definitely not a "could be anywhere" hotel.Plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast.
Not a full range of toiletries in the bathroom.
The old fashioned style. The location for the centre.Good breakfast.
Breakfast was amazing!
Bed was too low and not comfortable. There is no fridge and no lift and, most importantly, the curtains didn’t close all the way. I barely got any sleep.
We were unexpectedly upgraded to a very big room which was maybe a bit old fashioned but so charming and nice, big bathroom with shower and bubble bath..The breakfast is exceptional, variety and quantity, excellent and fresh
some repair in the room (plinth)
Brilliant breakfasts and nice large rooms. Very characterful building.
Creaky floors...very loud.
The chap at reception was responsive to the problems I encountered (see below) e.g. getting the shower fixed the day after I complained. There is a bus and tram stop just at the end of the road so it's easy to get around. Breakfast was very good for me but not big range of hot options if that is what you prefer.Giant bed.
Contents of another room's toilet ended up in mine! Pretty unpleasant and I'm not sure what is wrong with their plumbing to cause that. After I complained the chap at reception did put some extra product down in the other rooms which made the situation better in the final couple of days.Shower unbearably hot - this was fixed with a new temperature regulator the next day and I was allowed to use the shower of an unoccupied room instead. Small flush didn't work on my toilet (nor in the unoccupied room either). If you have a front room, be aware the road outside, while not busy at all, is cobbled so when cars drive past it's pretty loud - I'd recommend earplugs.General feeling of the upstairs having seen better days and somewhat unloved: rotting skirting boards, very creaky floorboards, fire escape directions on the wrong door, things like that.
The hotel is conveniently situated. I loved the interior, which was the main reason why I booked it.
However, the hotel is not very well maintained. The plants need some love. The room could be cleaner and was antique smell to it. The curtains were a bit outdated, and if they are down, the heating doesn't get to the room. Overall, a very stylish place, small adjustments have the potential to make it even better.
Friendly staff, super breakfast, parking secure but an extra cost. Room really needs a deep clean and total refurbishment. Bed was uncomfortable, and on the 3rd floor, so it meant going up 6 flights of stairs as there is no lift.
Breakfast, décor and architecture
Cheap mattress
I loved the charm of the building, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The overnight parking was very reasonable at €15 & check in was from 3pm, check-out time not until 12pm. Plus, we were able to leave the car in their garage until 1pm on day of departure, which was helpful. The breakfast was plentiful, with a great deal of choice. The bed was very comfortable and the teas and coffee in the room were welcoming.
It was a little too hot in the room for our liking, but that's maybe a personal thing. If I had to criticise anything else, the breakfast room was a little cold, so if it's winter time you're visiting, just make sure you dress warmly for breakfast. It can't really be helped, as the building is very old (& beautiful) & I imagine pretty difficult to heat. We arrived for breakfast at nine am, with an hour of breakfast time left and there were no eggs, or hot pancakes left and although the server was replenishing everything else frequently, she never replaced the hot food.I didn't ask though to be fair, so they may well have cooked some, had I asked.
We loved the design and feeling of the hotel. The bedroom was very nice and cozy. We generally enjoyed our stay, only a few things were sub-optimal
We stayed for only 2 nights so this wasn’t a problem enough to complain, but there wasn’t hot water. Best we got was lukewarm water in the bath and rather cold water in the shower. The bathroom generally was very cold at all times despite the radiator being set for full. It was also a bit dirty, especially the shower.
Stepping in the property seemed a little dowdy, but with charm. Very old school, which was inviting instead of super modern, bland facilities. I thought the bed might be uncomfortable but I slept soundly. The breakfast was exceptional!
Nothing!
Great location, walkable distance to the center and train station. Beautiful interior, friendly receptionist, and tasty breakfast.
No fan in the bathroom. No control over temperature.
The room was spacious and very friendly helpful staff.
Rooms are old and they could do with some up keep in places
Friendly staff, the hotal has character
A lot of black mold in our room. We had to check-out earlier and find another hotel last minute
