Pros +
- Staff was wonderful - very gracious and helpful. Rooftop bar and pool with amazing views with well appointed rooms. Location on the piazza was excellent !
- This hotel was perfect for our stay in Florence. Our room was incredible, the breakfast was amazing and the staff was VERY helpful. 10/10 all the way!
- One of my 2 fave hotels in the world! I chose it for the pool - it was amazing. On the roof with incredible views of the Florence skyline. The hotel is set on a "park," so you have space and quiet away from the fray. The rooms are stunning.
Cons -
- Nope- only odd thing is you have to reserve the gym- but that wasn't hard.
- No - the front desk was amazing, the breakfast was 5-star. The rooms and pool and lobby all gorgeous. 5 minute taxi ride from train station. Short 7 minute walk to all the sights.
- I was under the impression that that roof top was open to enjoy the view and relax- even if the pool was closed. Unfortunately, it was all under construction and we could not enjoy the rooftop experience.

The accommodations were lovely - everything new and clean. Breakfast was amazing- the nicest array of food and treats in the most beautiful setting -- easy to walk everywhere- especially for day trips out of the train station. Staff was always lovely.

There were doing construction in the hotel and I couldn't take a nap or I was woken up in the morning with hammers, metal cutting, and very loud noises.
The location and staff were wonderful. So helpful in navigating my way around
The friendly helpful staff and location
hotel employee greeted us and each time she saw us, made us feel welcomed.
Amazing hotel at the heart of the city. Perfect location! The staff was fantastic and our room incredible!!! Can't wait to come back
Roof top view of sunset and bird show
Cleanses and location.
It is extremely difficult to pinpoint what we like best about this hotel, because every single aspect of it was far beyond what we even expected from a typical five star hotel.
hotel employees were both awesome host.........thank you both!!
The location. The staff. The pianist Davide on special nights. What a treat. This hotel felt like home. Breakfast selection was also great. Check in process can be length with the passports and all that but that’s not their fault. It just feels long when all you want to do is get to the room. The gym is great and has all your essentials. Would love to visit this hotel in the summer time.
Nothing it’s perfect.
The hotel dates back to the 1800s, but has been recently renovated. As soon as we set foot into it, we felt immersed in luxury and drawn by art installations everywhere we looked. The hotel lobby is just stunning. Our suite was absolutely beautiful and featured a ceiling that was part of the Santa Maria Novella monastery. It was a special room that made us feel special. It took us on a trip to the past, but kept us grounded in the present. The hotel is centrally located next to the Santa Maria Novella train station and is a walking distance to anywhere in Firenze.
We were suffocating because of the heat in the room. The hotel turns off the cooling system in winter (even though we are basically still in the fall season); but the heating system was on. Our baby and we were overheating and weren't able to sleep all night, especially that overheating puts the baby at risk. We complained about it, and the hotel provided us with a fan and turned off the heating in the room. This didn't fix the problem, but it was better than the sauna we had experienced. To make matters worse, they joined 2 twin beds together to provide us with the "king bed" that we requested. We were feeling the gap between the beds all the time, which also didn't make the bed comfortable.Another issue was the Wi-Fi connection. It disconnects very often and is really slow. We didn't expect this to happen at such a luxurious hotel.Lastly, the breakfast buffet was very limited in terms of food offering. We were not able to feed our infant every day due to the limited options we had (which aren't safe for an infant in terms of texture and/or consumption). The buffet offered the same foods every day. The tables were kept dirty even when we finished our plates. The waiters didn't ask if they could offer the baby any specific food and didn't seem to care. We were cleaning up after our baby, and no one bothered to help. The service isn't really welcoming to be honest, but whatever options they had were tasty. We skipped breakfast twice as we didn't think it was worth it. This definitely didn't make our stay memorable, but rather more frustrating with the heating and Wi-Fi problems. As we were checking out, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay was, even though we stayed for 5 nights.
The location and the decor of public spaces. Also the restaurant was good, especially the staff.
The rooms for one person were disappointing. Too basic for the hefty price one paid.
The hotel was so spacious. The staff were fantastic. The lounge areas were spacious and respectful of privacy. My bedroom was extremely comfortable and stylish with ample space and great view of the SM Novella. The dinning area was EXQUISITE and choice of food was generous.
Lounge areas, rooftop swimming pool, bedroom and dining area. All this was enhanced by the friendly staff.
location location location, What a delightful place to return to after touring this lovely city , the roof top pool overlooking the piazza is just magical. Breakfast was great with fresh and cooked options and the gym facilities whilst small were fantastic.
Breakfast was outstanding. Lots of gorgeous fresh fruit, pastries, bacon, coffee.. was all gorgeous
Great location, felt very safe, close to everything. Beautiful rooftop pool, stunning views. Lobby areas were beautifully decorated! Rooms very nice.
Only minor thing I noticed. Nice to have breakfast buffet included…but fruit and cheeses always dried out and looked like food been sitting too long. For price and all their attention to detail in other areas, wouldn’t have expected. However, overall, this didn’t detract from our wonderful experience.
