    Pros +

    • Very cute building and rooms. Shared bathroom was very clean and felt updated. Sink in the room also made the shared bathroom easy. Facilities were very nice and staff was very kind.
    • Great location, ammenities provided (included already with the room), really nice staff.
    • The hotel was very central and it was easy to reach the sites we were wanting to see by walking. The hotel itself is renovated from an old palazzo which made us feel as though we got to experience some of the history. The host, Vincento, was also very welcoming and was available yo help when we had questions. The free cappuccino in the morning was also a nice addition.

    Cons -

    • The shared bathroom floor was wet due to a previous guest showering and not cleaning up
    • Breakfast wasn’t offered (but they apparently have the ability to)70+ stair steps to get to our room (fyi, nothing they can do about that)
    • The room I got was smaller than what I had seen in pictures. There was a smell of cigarettes in the lobby area.

I can’t recommend this place enough! It’s stunningly beautiful, right in the center of town, a great price, and friend staff! I loved it so much!

Location in Florence is fantastic - near Duomo, Uffizi, and lots of restaurants. Staff was very helpful and kind. Went out of their way to help me find my phone.

The location was great and the facilities were nice. I got a room with shared bathrooms and those were kept really clean.

The room I got was smaller than what I had seen in pictures. There was a smell of cigarettes in the lobby area.

The location is 3 minutes from the Duomo. Overall 10 for location. The vibe of the place is like an old historic castle.

    The cleanliness can be improved.

    Location

No elevator, claim 3 levels with luggage is nightmare…

    10HeiePosted on: 9-17-2025

Hotel Bavaria provided a spacious room for two located only two blocks away from the Duomo and very central to other attractions. The hotel hosts and housekeeping were super friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Hotel Bavaria!

There was not air conditioning but there are big windows for an evening breeze.

Loved the location, size and history of this hotel. It was close to everything we were interested in seeing. The staff was friendly and there is a fantastic coffee shop across the street.

We had the family room and the room was very large with a nice bathroom. The hotel is located very close to the historic city center and all the buildings. Parking is close by however it’s 40€ a day

There is no A/C. I didn’t pay attention when I booked it and the room was so hot. Much warmer in the room than outside. We had a very hard time sleeping and if you left the windows open, the mosquitoes would start biting.

Location was great, walking distance to everything was close by. even walked to/from the train station for our day trip to Venice.

There was no air-conditioning and the two floor fans provided did nothing to help cool the room off. if you can't sleep in the heat, do not stay here in the hot months. it was unbearable. The staff was not very friendly. They provide water and a cappuccino machine, but you must drink the water/cappuccino in the dining area and you may not take it back to your room.

Great location, clean rooms, kind staff, let us store our bikes for some hours on the day we checked out.

The heat in our room was unbearable while it was 37 C outside as there was no AC, I got sunstroke and could not find relief in the room with just 1 fan.Toilet was shared, but kept very clean.

    8CarlosPosted on: 6-15-2025

Very historic building in the heart of downtown Florence, and a short walk from the train station. Staff I experienced were friendly and escorted us to our room. Staff kept in contact before arrival.

Keep in mind if you are staying during the summer months, there is NO air conditioning. The room will get rather warm. But, two fans were supplied in our room. Also, not all rooms have a private bathroom. You will need to request a room with a private bathroom.

    - Location. Every possible attraction is 10-15 mins walk from this property.- Property: This is 15th century building so room was huge in size and ceiling was high enough. - Clean and comfortable

    - It could have been better if coffee was available any time and not just 8 to 11 AM. We had to go out at 7 AM and we could not get coffee.- Since this is 15th century building, there is no elevator, I knew it but if it was little tough to get to 2nd floor with bag.

    10HannelorePosted on: 6-12-2025

The location was perfect for exploring all areas of Florence! Very central while also quiet. We reserved the room with a private bathroom and everything was as advertised. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

No A/C may get pretty hot in summer months.

Second time staying at Hotel Bavaria - and loved it! The location cannot be beat - close to the Duomo and a little more lively restaurant area up the street. Great recommendations from our hosts - who are absolutely accommodating and so responsive. The cappuccinos in the morning are a huge bonus.

Love staying here, and would absolutely do so again - but the stairs may be a lot for some at the end of day.

    10EricPosted on: 5-20-2025

The location was amazing! A 10 minute walk from every direction maximum to all of Florence’s greatest attractions (the Duomo, Academia Gallery, Ufizzi Gallery, Medici Chalel, Plazza del Vecchio, etc.). Aside from its ideal location, Vincenzo at the front desk was the kindest most helpful soul; he provided me with a map of Florence and traced an optimal walking itinerary to view all historical landmarks and hot spots, also letting me know which restaurants were the best since he had been going to them for nearly 40 years (ask about the Bistecka a la Fiorentina!!). My favourite trip so far in Italy <3

    No complaints here!
