Boutique Hotel La Casa di Morfeo

This hotel was very homey and funky, and I like that in a hotel. Great breakfast (but could have been fresher, they recycled pastries). Hotel employee at the desk was wonderful and very helpful. The to order cappachino each am was grand.

Needed fresh breads each day for breakfast.

Too hot we couldn’t figure out how to configurate the temperature

Well situated slightly away from all the touristy areas, but still within walking distance to most. Room was fairly simple but comfortable, with everything we needed. Breakfast was great; we liked having fresh cooked eggs and espresso made to order, and the pastries were yummy! Very nice and helpful staff; good restaurant recommendations and advice about taking local public transport. We arrived quite late and it was very simple to enter the hotel and find our room - instructions were very clear.

The hotel is conveniently located within an easy walk of the duomo. The surrounding streets are full of great restaurants and interesting shops.

The lock on my bathroom door was broken and I wasn’t told in advance so I got locked in the bathroom and had to call for help, quite stressful, the reception team were lovely though and said they would get their maintenance team to look at it. Everything was great besides this.

Very well located, beautiful rooms and very welcoming staff. Just perfect.

The location for us was ideal. Immersed in the local residential area, walking distance to all of the things.

A little noisy on a morning when staff were coming in and setting up breakfast, but this could have been as I am a light sleeper and we were close to reception

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, they even upgraded us to a larger room when I asked for more space. The room was old but beautiful, and the hotel’s location was excellent.It also seems that hotel standards in Florence, and perhaps in Italy in general, are a bit lower compared to other European countries, so it’s good to keep that in mind when booking.

Breakfast was quite basic but enough to start the day. The room felt a bit cold, likely because the air conditioning wasn’t set for heating during this season. It was also a bit noisy overnight, though I don’t think that’s a regular issue.

The location was OK. That's it

I was woken out of my sleep at 6.30am from a dark room to all bright lights coming on in the room. This happened 3 out of 4 nights! Highly disturbing and disruptive of a decent night's sleep. The management said it was a very unusual technical issue..but one they couldn't fix during my stay. They offered me to come back and stay another time as compensation for the horrible experience. I refused to accept that as I would NEVER wish to stay at the hotel again. The 'owner' was faceless, voiceless and the Manager Julia kept hiding behind any responsibility by blaming the owner. As well as that the breakfast area is unkempt and the breakfast highly disappointing. One banana and one apple for 8 bedrooms! Plastic chairs in the bedrooms! Not relaxing not restful. You'll do much better elsewhere for less money.

All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly particularly reception staff. Convenient location for centre of city and easy to find. Good selection of breakfast items. Able to leave suitcases at reception on last day while sightseeing.

Nothing springs to mind!! Stone staircase to entrance carrying suitcase could be difficult for some people although there is a lift.
