Hotel Villani

I write to commend the service of those at the hotel. After I left behind my AirPods at the hotel, Hotel Employee found them the back of the room, and the hotel administration coordinated the helpful return of them through affordable shipping. Very appreciated.

Excellent location and staff. Good breakfast.

Heating system was not good enough. However, when we told them room was not warm enough, they promptly got us a very efficient space heater.

The location is exceptional! It’s in front of the Duomo and all the historic Center close by by walking. The room was small enough for a short stay with a beautiful view of the Cathedral, clean and the the staff very kind and supportive. The breakfast very complete and nice! Excellent location and beautiful rooftop view of the Dumo and Florence skyline.

Bathroom was very small but functional. It’s a hotel on the 3rd floor of a building versus what I thought would be a free standing hotel with restaurant and concierge etc. Rooms a sufficient.

We stayed 5 nights and the standard of 2 stars is spot on. The room itself as can be expected in a very old hotel but the bathroom ensuite was really only the size of a large cupboard and had 2 steps to negotiate on wet tile floors as the shower curtain did not contain the very slow shower.

The Hotel Villani is so well placed with the most exceptional views from the roof terrace bar serving the best virgin mojitos. This was an experience not to be missed.

Be prepared for a small lift as you are on the 4th floor.

I have stayed here before and I returned because I love the terrace overlooking Santa Maria del Fiore and the city to the East & West. Glorious.Plus, the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful and the location is absolutely perfect. All the key sites are within 10 minutes walk.

As with most older hotels, enough electrical outlets to run our gadgets is a challenge but an inconvenience you can live with.

Water pressure was iffy

Everything! The location. The helpful and accmmodating staff. The room we had exceeded our expectations, always clean and spacious enough. The breakfast comes with a view! And breakfast is actually a biggg breakfast.

There was actually a power outage during our stay but the staff made sure that we are comfortable enough and even offered to let us sleep on the other hotel downstairs.

Very nice budget hotel downtown Florence.Excellent location, in the middle of everything, friendy staff and amazing view.The room was comfortable, cosy, a bit cool as the bed was near the window.The breakfast was great for me. This hotel was a great surprise for me, nce decorated, cozy, I liked it a lot.I will come back, for sure!

The bathroom is small and the showe pressure not stable.

The location was great. Our room had a nice view. Good Breakfast, able to eat on the terrace with amazing view of Cathedral and the city.

Location was a little difficult to find. Plus, parking was about 1 km away which was also hard to drive to and find. However, on departure, the parking attendant brought our car to the hotel which was convenient.

Bathroom was a bit outdated, shower not functioning very well. Due to the location next to Giotto tower, early morning the bells ring and since the room is not soundproofed, it can be uncomfortable and difficult to rest

We paid extra for a Junior suite as 3 adults were sharing, however the room size didn’t reflect a suite. The room was in serious need of refurbishment with mold, peeling paint, damp and was generally unpleasant. We requested a refund so that we could relocate and the staff were really understanding and helped resolve our issue by moving us to two rooms in their sister hotel which was much more in line with the amount we’d paid. Our stay at the sister hotel was really pleasant- we only wish we’d booked here or elsewhere instead.

The size of the Junior Suite, decor, general state of the room needed maintenance.

The view was definitely great - got extra lucky with the room overlooking Duomo! It was pleasantly warm inside unlike some places where central heating is not a thing. Definitely a great choice for a short city visit

The shower was just 4/10, quite small, the type where you keep bumping your elbows everywhere

Location is amazing! Views were incredible! Breakfast was great!

My room was located near the kitchen and the noise was not great! One morning they even played the radio at 6:30am!! Also my bed was so uncomfortable, I could feel the coils/springs and my back is not good after 5 nights!

What we loved about the location was THE LOCATION! Walking distance to several key attractions the Ufizzi Gallery! The roof top bar was the perfect viewpoint to the Duomo of Florence, both day & night.

The elevator was the worst we have experienced, each trip was a shaking & scary ride. The room was very small & when we asked for heat they said heat until November!The bed promoted back aches. Etc., Etc…. Bottom line, @$400/night, “I believe” we can do better next visit to beautiful Florence.
