Pros +
- Lovely little hotel within metres of Piazza del Duomo. Fantastic welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable room with al facilities you need for a city break. Very good breakfast and the bonus of afternoon tea served in the lounge every day.
- Poor and disappointing experience overall.- When we arrived staff was all over the place, anxious, chaotic and everyone telling us a different story on where to park our car. All the while it was raining and my family had to endure all that. Then a random guy who won't even say hello to you picked up the car and we saw it through our alarm system, in different locations throughout Florence. When I asked about it, I got literally a vague reply that they are going to look into it.- The room was cold, the bathroom was cold as a fridge throughout our entire stay and also nobody did anything about it.- Wifi was not working or extremely weak during our whole stay, we had to use our phone data to do basic things.- Breakfast was a depressing experience as for the money we paid, more than 850e/night, we got a hostel type breakfast where we had to boil our own eggs.- Biggest nightmare was the elevator that wasn't working most of the times. My wife has a health issue with one of her legs so we had to climb 2 and 3 storey stairs everytime we would go for a smoke, with our 3 year old along. When we complained about it, we got the amazing reply that it only happened to us, all the while we were watching the poor elderly people going up and down the stairs 'cause of the elevator fail.- We had to beg and bargain for water, literally. We never came across anything similar in any other 5 star hotel in the world. We would ask for an extra bottle of water for our kid and we simply wouldn't get it. Biggest irony was that one day they charged us for 2 bottles of water. We asked why, they replied it is a mistake and all water is complimentary from the mini bar, only to see the charge was still there after all. We were so fed up, we paid and left without any words.- Location is not the best, but decent. You will see that all the places you wanna visit are always a 10 min walk away.- Overall, better pay other 5 star hotels with better location and service.
- Breakfast and location was exceptional
Cons -
- Disappointing overall.
- 1.Room was not soundproof as my room was “1” near reception and lounge. I can hear all talking at reception and lounge. During daytime, it was so noisy.2. Staff were generally not friendly and kind for us.
- The refrigerator is too small. And one day, the elevator broke down, so I had to walk around, which was a bit tough.

It felt like staying in a very antique castle. It is a hotel with a good location where you can see the Duomo Cathedral directly from the window. I remember how kind the man who kept the room cleaning
The refrigerator is too small. And one day, the elevator broke down, so I had to walk around, which was a bit tough.
Great location and very nice concept. The staff is very friendly the rooms very clean and nice. The Breakfast was amazing, I will definitely stay over if I would have the chance and I will recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Florence,
There is nothing wrong with the property, everything is exceptional!
Everything is fabulous! The location, decor, staff are top notch. The beds are super comfy and our bathroom was next level! The breakfast was delicious and the sitting room was regal.
The location was perfect. So central. The room was large and very clean. Staff were wonderful and attentive. And the breakfast was delicious too it’s many options. The breakfast staff were delightful and attentive. Thank you
The room was stunning with all the Fresco's it gave a very authentic Florentine feel. The location could not have been better for us, waking up on Sunday morning to the bells from St Maria Cathedral was so special. The poetry as part of the turn down routine was such a lovely touch.
It would have been nice to have fresh complimentary water every day and not just on the day of arrival.
Walking distance to everything!! Helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms, spa room was incredible! Great breakfast! Great experience
No complaints
Everything as this exceeded our expectations! This is the most unique, charming and service-oriented hotel I have experienced. They helped me prepare for my friend’s 70th birthday party. As we entered the room, there was a bBeautiful bouquet with a variety of flowers in different shades of pink-gorgeous! A box of chocolate where the box is chocolate too, a magnificent Chianti reserve wine with snacks. The location is behind the Duomo - less than a two- minute walk as you go out the door and there it is! Everything is within ten to 15 minutes! Breakfast is so delicious and elegant in the sitting room either soft music playing and they have pastries and tea in the afternoon. We stayed in room 5 and loved it! They have a restaurant right there on the corner and we had our last dinner there overlooking the Duomo-same excellent service and food! Would highly recommend as they pay attention ion to every detail! I would always stay here! What an awesome and exquisite experience!
Not one single thing! Everything was exceptional.
Great attention from the whole staff, everything was super clean and with attention to the detail. The location could not be better. Completely recommended.
It literally was a palace! Just beautiful and updated to be very comfortable. The location was perfect for us, just a couple blocks from where our son is living. We would definitely stay again.
The one drawback was that our room was facing the street and it was loud at night over the weekend. A plus and minus for staying in the heart of a very busy city.
Breakfast was very good. Assortment of food was good, the only thing I would change is that I would have decaffeinated coffee by the pot so I could get a full, regular sized cup.
Said it above, the lack of decaffeinated coffee by the pot.
The location was excellent. The staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
Extremely palatial beautiful residence well maintain & all high speck
The room was very large with lg bathroom 2 sinks 2 shower heads nice and large good hot temp ! Luxe design in the traditional manner
We truly loved the spacious room, great air conditioning, Fantastic Breakfast and the staffs second to none care and candor with me and my Love. Will return soon.
The location was second to none. The Duomo towers above you the minute you step outside the front gate of the hotel, and all other sites of interest in Florence are within walking distance as well. At the same time, the minute you enter the hotel, the hustle and bustle of the city subsides, and you can get a welcome respite from the heat and the crowds (we were there in July; thankfully, there was excellent air conditioning in our room). The entrance, a little unusually, is on the second floor, but there is a small lift to take you up there as well as a broad stone staircase. The inside of the palazzo is stunning and authentic, yet intimate. The small breakfast room is full of frescoes and antique furniture, and it feels almost like sitting in a dining room rather than a hotel. There are only 12 rooms in the hotel, and this boutique feeling is present throughout. We had booked a junior suite but were upgraded to a suite, which was just lovely. We got the impression that they willingly do this whenever possible. Our rooms were beautiful and generous, with original floors and furniture, and it felt just right to experience the renaissance city of Florence this way. There was an espresso machine in our room, which was appreciated, and in the afternoon, there are complimentary tea and cakes in the dining room, which was a welcome touch. All of the staff were kind, down to earth and helpful, which we appreciated so much (having had other experiences at other palazzos in other cities). Upon check-in, we were shown to our room and told 'this is your home away from home for the next three days', and it truly felt that way.
Breakfast was lovely and had a decent selection of everything, and so we were surprised that the coffee was cold. When we asked for new coffee, it was immediately made, and we could also order cappucinos. However, you expect warm coffee to be readily available. We often like to make use of room service when visiting larger cities if we're tired from walking, but we felt it was a little too expensive here, which was a shame.
Excellent location, helpful staff, great breakfast, big room, jacuzzi bath.
Can’t watch Netflix or cast tv
This was a gem of a property. The bed was do comfortable it was a vacation in itself. The romance of an aged structure and history just made it all worth the trip. Absolutely we will stay here again. The breakfast will set the pace of the day and you will look forward to falling in bed once your day is over. I wish we stayed longer.
As an aged building it will have small issues that are easily overcome. The staff is more than accommodating and willing to assist you if needed.
Fantastic location, lovely building that was a nice blend of historic and modern.
The WiFi was less than amazing.
