    Pros +

    • Nice, clean room in very convenient location.
    • The location was perfect, the room clean and cozy and staff very nice.
    • The location is absolutely fantastic, within short walking distance from all of the big landmarks in Florence. The woman at the front desk (when she was there) was very kind, sweet, and helpful. The property also felt very secure, with a locked/coded outside door, inside gate, and other locked internal doors. The room also felt clean. Common areas (hallway, lounge, cafe) were cozy and comfortable.

    Cons -

    • Reception closed at 8pm so you're on your own at night. I prefer a hotel that includes breakfast.
    • The pictures and details posted online for this property are very misleading. There are some rooms on the first floor that have a shared bathroom. We had a room on the 2nd floor with an en suite bathroom, but the sink and shower drains didn't fully drain properly, and the bath towel in the room is made with so much plastic that it might as well be a tablecloth. The pictures online make it seem like you get standard travel sized shower soap and shampoo, but in reality were tiny satchets that barely went the distance. Also, no washcloths. The water did get sufficiently warm, but the water pressure was very weak. The bed was hard as a rock, very much like a dorm bed. The pillows were also very flat and hard. Not ideal for someone like me with broader shoulders and is a side sleeper. The pictures online made the bed look very different than what we got. Also, there was only a sheet, no blanket. The posting online made it seem like this was going to be an actual hotel with front desk staff. In reality, it was one woman running the whole show (check in, room cleaning, etc). The hours on the door indicate that they are open 8am to 8pm, but there was no one there at least after 6pm during our stay. Which was unfortunate, because the AC malfunctioned in our room, and we could not get a hold of anyone. The walls were also pretty thin, and we could hear everything going on in the hotel. Again, not ideal for a hotel situated on a street that has activity going on all day and all night.
    • Our first room, 101, had a funky smell that we realized was mold when we noticed mold growing on the walls. The shower also did not spray, the water just drizzled out. We asked to change rooms, which was done no problem. The next room had the firmest beds we’ve ever slept in, so uncomfortable! The room also had a smell, kind of like a wet dog, but better than mold I guess. The AC is apparently turned off in October, even though it was very warm, so we had to open the window which faced the street and it was unbearably loud. The bathroom walls were dirty and it was all around a poor experience. I would not recommend.

    The location was absolutely perfect!

The beds were a little firm and the bathroom wasn’t super clean.

Great location, although in the center it was quite. Very nice and helpful host!

The bed was not that comfortable but it is very personal

The location is amazing, the rooms are updated and very clean, and the price is super fair. They have very good air conditioning and they even have a mini fridge, which I did not encounter. I did not use the kitchen area with available hot water, coffee, but appreciate it being available. For negative reviews about no lift and noise from the streets - you are staying the middle of a busy European city, bring earplugs if you need and pay for another hotel if you can’t go up stairs. Make sure you are in communication with the hotel about checkin time because it is not 24 hours. Dorina, the receptionist and the cleaner is amazing. She is so sweet, so helpful, and works so hard..

It is certainly right in the heart of Florence only a few steps from all major attractions.

Internet/phone service was sparse for me and if you were to be constantly coming and going getting in/out of room could be laborious given lack of elevator past the first floor.

    8YongPosted on: 4-29-2025

The location is great. And it is very quiet.

There were hairs and nails in bed.

    9BlakePosted on: 4-21-2025

Perfect location very close to everything. Didn't need to use the car the whole time we were there.

Parking was very hectic but that's expected in a major city in Italy. The hotel could use a little updating and a microwave would be nice for at least the common area. Shower was small and very low water pressure.

Nothing, it’s very ugly and dirty please. It’s scam by booking as well as by the hotel. Booking is cheating, for my room there was only a shower and no WC. It was not written in the description that there’s no WC in the room and you need to use a shear WC.

Everything, it could be a jail not a hotel.

Fantastic location near the heart of Florence. The receptionist Dorina has been such a great host. Thank you Dorina

The hotel is in the center. We had to walk a few minutes to the station. The room itself was clean.

The building is a bit old with a small lift. Or review is a bit biased since we had a baby stroller. Only one person with one luggage would fit in the lift. The bathroom had Some things broken and the shower is not verry powerfull. There is no space to put you shampoo.

The propery is really close to the centre and all the sightseeings. The room was clean, I stayed for two nights and room service visited us every day. Recommend

I had a very good stay at Hotel Centro, so I was able to enjoy the walks during the day in FlorenceGreat location, great stuff and clean room.

    7ThomasPosted on: 3-13-2025

Easy to find , the room was decent , the location perfect to walk almost every important place . It was clean though it was some dust on floor could be better . Moneywise cheaper compare to other considering the location but overall building/room is not worth that money alone for sure.

Reception closes at 8 pm meaning i have to carry a bunch of keys to get in , building is old which is okay I guess but main issue was the arrangement u enter on ground floor there is an old elevator that fits on person that takes you only to first floor ( i press 2nd and 3rd didn't work at all ) on first floor there is the reception then after you get your keys you go to other floor above the was an inner at reception that was better and the reception guy told us it's for luggage but let use it anyway. Overall wasn't anything very bad it is a bit strange tho going up and down , 1by 1 half way stairs half way elevator etc

    The location.

The smell of smoke in the staircase, constantly. It was sickening. The lack of a receptionist between 9.30 and 10.30 (Booking.com say they are there between 8-20). I did not have the option to leave my luggage with no recetionist even for a few hours.

    7MabotofuPosted on: 2-2-2025

The location was perfect as it was on a relatively lively street with lots of shops, restaurants, the Medici Museum and right next to a small supermarket where you can buy pretty much everything!

The WiFi didn't reach my room well (street side), so I had to work all day in the common space. We were offered to move to another room when we reported the issue. However, it was a smaller room, so we didn't take it.

    7WilliamPosted on: 12-14-2024

The location was great, room clean and easy check-in. Would recommend for travelers that just need a place to sleep at night.

I work remotely and was never able to get the wifi/internet in my room working.

    8IroniPosted on: 12-2-2024

Well located in the historical center and with many attractions and good restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is inside ZTL area (in case you come by car) - the suggestion is to park in Garage Sant'Orsola, just behind the hotel, where they can remove any ZTL tariff from your car.

The building hall smells cigarettes.Wifi connection is terrible - it only works in the reception floor.Bad sound insulation.
