Hotel Genzianella

Giovanni was so kind from check in to check out. We had a 2 night stay for a quick trip to Florence from Rome. We had parking nearby which was helpful. There was an elevator which is nice if you have luggage or have difficulty with steps.

IT WAS VERY, VERY CLOSE TO ALL ACTIVITIES. CLEAN AND KIND PEOPLE.

Good location, check-in time and responsive staff.

Tired as it can be and would have appreciated better fitting linen and a slightly larger shower. Though for the price and location it remains a very good option.

It’s not so far that you need to take the tram or bus, and not so close that you pay an outrageous price! The location is good, the bed is comfortable.The building is quite old and the elevator is a bit scary at first but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The shower was extremely small. I’m not a big person, I’m an average size woman and I could barely wash my hair without hitting my elbows on the wall or the sliding doors. There was also no place to put my toiletries on, which always made showering a task to get over with as fast as possible.

The location was perfect, walking distance to all the turistic places and also not turistic places, had a cafe place in the corner for fantastic and delicious breakfast also really cheap compared to the turistic area. Hotel staff was really welcoming and helpful, the hotel was very clean, and had a beautiful view of Florence. Tram just outside of the hotel, very easy and convenient that bring you straight from the airport. Overall it was amazing, I will definitely comeback again.

What I liked the most was the location; I was able to get around everywhere on foot.

Nothing. But it’s important to note that the shower is small and low; it can be uncomfortable for a tall or large person.

Our room was super luxury. Entrance, private balcony, a little living room, bathroom and fantastic bedroom with all facility you will need.

Besides to the Hotel facility itself, there were no local shops to buy even a bottle of water. I need a conditioner but the first available shops was about 2 kilometers awayBut there were lovely cafe and restaurant around which are open until 10-11

5 minutes walk to the centre and a very kind staff, also good airconditioning

The character of the room with a balcony was fantastic for us. Very high ceilings, tall, tall door windows. We're a family of 3, and the single bed was as comfortable as the double. We could see the sun set from our room and the balcony had a cute little table and chairs with lots of plants.

I wish I had stayed longer!

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect – quiet yet very close to the city center and all the main attractions. What truly made our stay special was the incredibly kind and helpful staff. They were always available and made us feel very welcome. Everything was just perfect – we would definitely come back and highly recommend Hotel Genzianella to anyone visiting Florence!

Nothing went well. The main issue is they say that have parking but THEY DON'T. There is no parking within 400 meters of the hotel. It's fraud.

And the parking they claim is actually a public parking a few hundred meters away. When we went there we were told we couldn't park there (full or some work being done, don't know). We couldn't park, couldn't check in. They denied our refund and Booking.Com has been ZERO help also. Basically, both in on the fraud.

The hotel wasnt far from the tramstation and city so that was very nice. The bed was good, the room was clean and pretty big. Also the option to get some water from the machine and cook water on your room was good and the airco was working.

The entrance downstairs looked like an ghetto place wich gave me weird vibes at first and made me doubt if this was the right place to be. Also the first impression of person who welcomed me at first seemed very strange and not professional at all.. maybe he was there just for a little while and not on daily basis because the next day there was a woman but after we spoke a little longer the vibes shifted into something better. The shower was very tiny/small couldnt even turn around in it so small. The shower was a little broken as well and the door didnt close normally.

It was clean. The beds (2 twins) were comfortable. The air conditioning worked. The staff were friendly and helpful. The shower was nice.

Asked for two rooms got one. Small room. Old room. Small old lift. Tiny shower. Not very clean

We liked the location and friendly staff members. The room itself was pretty mediocre, it was nice of them to give us towels and soaps. They also had a fridge and a microwave which we found really useful.

The elevator was really tiny, our sheets didn’t look too clean.

Charming family owned and operated hotel in a great location - rooms have recently been completely renovated and are like new (many have great views over Florence), located at Plaza della Liberta with many shops and a wide range of great restaurants nearby and trams to the Centre outside the front door. I am disabled and the staff are a great help as they are to all guests - I have stayed here many times and regard it as my home in Florence. I cannot recommend it highly enough - it is away from the main tourist traffic but is easy to get to wherever you may want to go.
