We will definitely return next year and book at this beautiful boutique hotel in the center of everything. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and welcoming.

I loved this hotel! It truly exceeded my expectations. I was a little nervous since there weren't a ton of reviews, but it was a newer property so I think that's the reason for lack of reviews. It was truly an amazing stay. We took the train into Florence from Rome and we were able to walk to our hotel from the train station. It took about 15 minutes. In hindsight I would have just used a taxi because it was hot outside, but if the weather is nice it is definitely an easy walk from the station. The hotel staff was amazing from the moment we walked in. The lady that checked us in gave us a map of Florence and a ton of recommendations for food, shopping and sight seeing. The hotel itself was very private and clean. It was also in a great location. 10/10 recommend!

The STAFF! The location, cleanliness, organized, and even though the room was smaller than US standards it had plenty of storage and even more than some US hotels.

The bed may be a bit too soft. But that is just personal preference.

We fell in love with Tuscany and felt right at home at Porta Nera. Christina was an amazing host—always so helpful with restaurant recommendations, or simply sharing a coffee and a pleasant chat. The neighborhood is wonderful, close to shops, restaurants, and all the major historical attractions. We truly fell in love with Florence and will definitely be back—both to the city and to Porta Nera.

Overall, our stay was wonderful. Huge shoutout to the front desk staff. Unlike in the US, they did not have desk workers on duty 24 hours a day. They had normal business hours. The staff on property were incredibly friendly, helpful, and catered to our every need, question, gave tons of recommendations and were very knowledgeable of the area, as well as future areas were we visiting over the course of our trip. I can't praise the staff enough, they were top notch, it was like the US "chick filet" version of service. Meaning, they truly seemed happy to see us, went above and beyond our expectations. The room itself was well maintained, clean, and comfy. The room size was smaller than rooms in the US are but were in compliance and expectations with the size of other rooms throughout our stay. The location was also great to the amenities and tours that we had planned to visit. It was a bit of a walk from the train station, but honestly, that could be because when we got there, we were already tired, and lugging 2 big ass suitcases each, made it seem much further than it really was. Upon leaving, we were rested and had a better idea of where we were so the walk was not nearly as long as miserable as I felt it was on the trip in. =) One the second day that we were there my wife had a pretty bad migraine, and we were not able to do much that day but lie around and let her recover from this. Due to this, we extended our stay for an additional night and the front desk once more, came through, and was able to allow us to stay an additional night at a discounted rate, as well as worked it out so that we could remain in the same room and not have to move all of our stuff around.

Really no complaints at all to note. Was a pleasant stay, and we enjoyed it very much, If we return to Florance, we will stay there again.

The WiFi was really bad. No wifi in our bedroom and not a lot in the lobby

Modern / updated building and facilities. Amazing location - central to everything. Great in-room AC. Comfortable bed.

    Rooms a little cramped.

Everything.. the staff very friendly and they do their best to serve you.

There is no reception service after 8 PM.. but they gave me a clear instruction to do self check in .. the other thing is when you miss the window of cleaning the room you need to inform the reception even though you put the make up the room sign on the door.

Loved the room! Professionally designed and extremely clean, looked brand new, ca 25sq/m.

We loved absolutely everything about this hotel.

    9AdrianPosted on: 10-15-2025

We did a quick night stay and loved the place. It was centrally located, modern, and with a friendly staff. I thought it was good value against some insanely pricey alternatives in Florence.

It would get a 10/10 if we didn’t have issues with WiFi coverage in our room. One more router and it would be perfect.

    9MusselmanPosted on: 10-14-2025

Super clean and well finished. Bed was extremely comfortable and linens were nice!

Small room. No amenities past 8pm. It was ok but I just didn’t realize.

The property is an amazing place to stay in Firenze. Value is super good. The staff is super nice and helpful. It is very well located and you can walk anywhere you like. It is super clean and new.It is like staying in a apartment but with “some” service. The only point it is not an hotel - breakfast, room service is not available - but you walk anywhere close and fulfill your needs.

Sometimes you need “some” perks that are not available here.
