    • We enjoyed our stay at Casa Santo Nome di Gesu while we explored Florence. The former convent is a beautiful old building to stay in, and is renovated to a very comfortable modern standard. We had beautiful views over the square and the gardens towards the city, which were especially special to see at night. While not in the middle of Florcene, it was a very easy 5-10-minute walk into the centre of town, and staying here was a great base. Walking over the briedge each day was a great part of our experience of Florence. We enjoyed the location, being a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the tourists but not miles away. The room we had was very comfortable and clean and had a huge bathroom. While there was no TV in the room and we found we were so busy we did not need one, if you do need one, there is a communal lounge room with comfortable chairs and a large TV. The staff are warm and welcoming and will make you feel at home. The breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated the variety on offer. We really loved having the opportunity to stay in the lovely old convent and to be able to walk around the grounds. Walking up the central staircase made the building feel special, as if we were really living in history and know that our stay was supporitng the upkeep of this beautiful building.

    Cons -

    • Mosquitos bad with open windows. Bathroom situation strange.breakfast not good. Coffee terrible.
    • The bed was not comfortable. I could feel the springs as if there I was sleeping on them.

The Staff was friendly, and the building was historical and had a welcoming feel.

The breakfast could have had both cappuccino machines working. There was always a line to get cappuccino. Allow the guests to select the table they want to eat at instead of it pre-selected.

Nice location, very close to the main attractions, but still a quiet area. Friendly staff.

Basic room, much more basic than the pictures suggested. Quite cold, especially in the bathroom at night, and in some of the common areas. The breakfast had enough variety but was also basic (e.g. industrial pastries). All in all, it was an ok hotel, but overpriced and the cold was a dealbreaker.

Everything. Old convent or place for religious training converted into hotel

The lights went off while we were having breakfast, but that seemed to be a one off

Our “room with a view” of the beautiful garden and nearby church. Wonderful breakfast. Large common areas decorated with antiques and collectibles.

Wonderful old building with a fascinating history. There are large areas of common space. Modern facilities are fitted in with old features. The hotel has a large private garden with space to sit out, all within easy walking distance of all that Florence has to offer. The private car park was secure with plenty of space.

I liked the historical feel of the building and the praceful garden.

There could have been more fresh rolls available at breakfast - all gone very early as they don’t make very many!

Good location on the south of the river so not as busy. Lovely garden and interesting and attractive building. An elegant communal sitting room furnished with antiques, overlooking the garden was next to our room and a pleasant place to sit. Comfortable bed, excellent shower and a good breakfast.

Our room overlooked the square which was noisy until 4am on the Saturday night. Not enough bread rolls at breakfast! Ran out every morning before 8.30am.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Location was great to access the city. Garden and breakfast were great.

Beds a little uncomfortable. No tea/coffee facilities in your room - machine in reception that allowed you to buy a hot drink.

Breakfast was very good. Nice variety. Plenty of choices

The room was rather plain and not cozy/ warm feeling. Bathroom was fine. Felt like a dormitory.

Everything was fantastic. We have stayed here several times before, and it's always our first choice when available. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are helpful and the location can't be beaten.

The breakfasts are better than before but not it's best feature.

    7DmitryPosted on: 10-26-2025

    Good location. Nice building.

The breakfast was poor and the pillows were uncomfortable.

    8MichaelaPosted on: 10-25-2025

The property was beautiful. Super comfy bed and a newly done up bathroom. Easy access to the centre of Florence. Very lovely staff.

The room we were in had thin walls - you could hear people walk and talk - and snore - in the room next to us. Take ear plugs.

Close to city center and main interesting pointsNice building

Poor breakfastToo many mosquitos in the room No free plugs close to the bed

    9MichaelPosted on: 10-16-2025

Very peaceful interior and very helpful front desk staff.

The hotel is situated on an open square that can be noisy at times late at night.

    8RachaelPosted on: 10-14-2025

That it was near a Catholic Church and loved the breakfast

The shower seem t leak water into the bedrooms and the air conditioning didn’t work well

    8AnnaPosted on: 10-12-2025

Beautiful building with a fantastic story behind it. Good quiet location within walking distance to everything. Safe and comfortable. Good breakfast that was included.

    6YanranPosted on: 10-11-2025

The decorations of the hotel is kind of elegant. Nice breakfast. Clean. Super thick mattress with which you don't feel you are sleeping in a metal frame bed.

My room has no ceiling painting and mosaic floor, which is totally different from the picture. I feel so disappointed for I was so expected to live in a room with ceiling painting before. if I got the room exactly the same as the picture I could score it 10....all in all, the room I got is not worth the price.
