About
An elegant, peaceful relais, overflowing with art and history, completely made from scratch where once stood the tower-houses of the noble families of Florence, cradle of the Renaissance: the Relais Uffizi lies in the deepest heart of the city, right in Piazza della Signoria, just a few yards away from the Uffizi Gallery. Hosted in a sixteenth-century carefully restored palace, today our relais comes to new life with a totally modern look, but keeps track of an illustrious past, when it was a noble residence in the most lively part of the historic center. It is a relais with a modern concept, refined and wedded to art: among paintings, statues and sumptuous furnishing, everything is conceived to warmly welcome and make you feel at home in the heart of Florence. Furniture and materials play with the elegant shades of petroleum blue contrasting with beige and gold that warm up the environment. In addition, all rooms are soundproofed, in order to allow our guests a good rest. Customized and attentive to the needs of our guests, the services of our relais are an invitation to stay: our lounge bar with a view on Piazza della Signoria, free Wi-Fi, breakfast included with three different a la carte menus to choose from, the concierge service to reserve tours and museum tickets, family rooms, a reception desk open 24 hours a day, a tea room with a wonderful samovar at guests’ disposa, Samsung TV with Chromecast, mini-bar in the room and much more await you. At the Relais Uffizi every stay is created professionally and custom-made according to your taste and needs. Our bar hosts the breakfast service and awaits you anytime of the day: at the comfortable tables overlooking Piazza della Signoria or on the soft couches, you can take your time for a coffee or an aperitif, a cocktail or a liqueur after dinner, as well as for a quick lunch or a selection of cheese and cured-meats of course to match with an excellent selection of Tuscan wines. The Relais degli Uffizi lies in the historical part of Florence: in 16, Chiasso del Buco, you access from Chiasso dei Baroncelli, a narrow medieval alley that opens up on Piazza della Signoria and flanks the Uffizi Gallery. Spending a holiday in our relais means take a trip back to the XVI century Florence and fully relive the atmosphere of that time: here resided some of Florence’s most eminent families and there were workshops of painters, blacksmiths and farriers. To reach the city’s wonderful attractions it only takes a few minute walk: you only need to get out of our relais to find yourself in Piazza della Signoria, in front of Palazzo Vecchio, the statue of David by Michelangelo, the Loggia della Signoria, the Fountain of Neptune and then the Uffizi. In just five minutes, you get to the Ponte Vecchio, the Florence Cathedral and Santa Croce.

Pros +
- Perfect location, friendly staff, and good breakfast. The rooms are quit old but, well maintained and clean. This would be our first choice if we went back to Florence.
- Location, style and staff
- The hotel is ideally located, close to all the main attractions. The rooms are spacious, a good size, with soundproofing and high ceilings. The bathroom is excellent and equipped with professional-quality toiletries. The staff are very polite and friendly, and the breakfasts are delicious, prepared with the guest’s preferences in mind.
Cons -
- The rooms were old. We were there four nights and had occasional noise problems but, nothing too serious. Overall though, the location made up for the small inconveniences.
- Shower drain was not working properly, AC wasn’t enabled (because we travelled during fall) and the bed was not super comfy

Excellent hotel, exceed our expectations, great location, steps from Piazza Signoria, easy to do everything walking, all amenities! We really appreciate! Breakfast was great with fresh and high quality items! Staff was amazing!
The only negative point was that our windows were above the trashes, and we could listen to some noise during the night and were not able to open the windows because of the smell.
Location was great and the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely come back next time we visit Florence.
Location was incredible. Right in the center.
Can only say that one night in our room which was like an attic (although very nice) we were stuck listening to the people below us. The woman had a very loud voice, and obnoxious laugh. and it was difficult to sleep.
The location is amazing. There is absolutely no faulting that. Sadly there were a number of reasons our stay didn’t match up to our expectations. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very helpful. The shower was great. Bathroom nice and clean. Very comfortable bed.
The main problem was the noise in our room from reception. Our room (206) was literally right next to the reception desk, same as 207, so I imagine the same is true of that room. You could hear every word said at reception, every phone call and could hear breakfast being set up in the lounge bar. This meant that I was wide awake from 5am from hearing people at reception and had to put my headphones in on our second night. We didn’t bother complaining because we were leaving that morning and the previous night we had not been woken by reception until 7am and we were getting up early to go out and about anyway. There is a spare bed set up in each room, which is a bit like a day bed, and clearly lots of people had put their luggage on the cream cushions because it was pretty filthy. The rooms are very hot (our stay was in October, and so it wasn’t that hot outside) the aircon takes some working out/doesn’t work consistently. We managed to get the room to cool down, but the auto feature doesn’t work. The turndown service was fine, but they didn’t clear up any of the crumbs near the coffee machine. I expected an awful lot more for what we paid, but I was too tired to say anything about it. The other rooms would probably have been perfect, but I would avoid 206/207.
Amazing location, couldn’t be in a better location than this. It’s hidden right behind the main square with palazzo vechio and 5 min away from Uffizi Galeries. Great breakfast every day and a good variety of fresh and tasty pastries in the buffet. Very Kind and helpful people.
Excellent location, great amenities. Beds were super comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
The hotel cannot be more central. You are right near Pallazo Vecchio. Breakfast with view on the square.
Under the window is an airco running all night. You have to keep the window shut.
The location is fantastic for sightseeing
The AC was constantly malfunctioning which meant I was freezing in my room most of the time. Most uncomfortable. The shower was mouldy. The bathroom was very compact - a bigger person would struggle ish access to the toilet unless they moved the furniture
1) Location 2) Good decor3) General cleanliness
1) Shower basin not free draining resulting in the basin flooding during use , user standing in a puddle during shower with water overflowing to the bathroom.2) Shower pressure is non existent. 3) Pump located in the bedroom toilet is constantly recycling throughout the day. This is a loud intermittent noise which becomes quite disruptive during the night , causing poor sleep.
excellent, kind and helpfull stuff, great location of the hotel, just near Piazza della Signoria, excellent breakfest with the view of Piazza, well organised pick up of the car and valet parking in the center of the town
Couldn’t have booked a more centrally located hotel. We were literally walking distance to all of the main sights and restaurants in Florence. Would highly recommend.
The hotel showed its age and maintenance and upkeep especially in bathroom and furniture required a bit more attention.

Perfect location. Just 1 min walk from the the museum. Excellent breakfast.
The room was a bit tight
Staff, location, breakfast, and robes
Had trouble working the thermostat and coffee pot
The location was amazing and the rooms were spacious
It does not have direct access to the street so you can’t load luggage at ease. There’s no one to help with the luggage and no parking on the premise plus the parking is different price to what’s written on the website.
The location and the room layout and the breakfast
It was dusty in the room
