Victoria Altstadt Hotel

Location

No elevator, bringing heavy luggage from 2 and, floor very dangerous on the stairs. They talk about reception there is no one available., and no place for reception, its just the staircase and rooms on each floor . You show up and if not arranged properly you wait outside as front door is locked. Transparency would serve them well, not to disappoint people. The only positive is the location. Although on weekends its loud bcs of the bars across the way.

Great location, room was clean and comfortable. Modern bathroom everything in order.

The location is perfect if you want to be in the middle of the old town! It’s literally around the corner. If you keep your window closed, there is barely any noticeable noise from the street. The staff was super helpful. We arrived before check-in, but were able to stall our luggage in their office near the train station.

The sink was still dirty from make-up residue I think? There were also a few hairs on the bathroom walls. There is soap available to wash your hands with, but it’s attached to the wall in the shower because it also serves as a body wash. So after going to the toilet we had to get into the shower to get some soap to wash our hands with. Would’ve been nice if there was a bottle of soap attached to the wall next to the sink as well.

Room was clean and renew lately.

There is no reception so needed to call how to enter hotel and from where get the keys.

Just I like the location.

The room was very dirty. I saw hair everywhere. Also don’t have any hand soap. Last two days internet was not connected.

Cosy house, nice room, and friendly host!

Very noisy neighbourhood. Police patrol was watching the street to asure safety.

The location was just perfect. Right in the heart of the Altstadt. Enough eateries and sights to see on our doorstep. Very vibey area. The hotel room and shower was clean. Bed was comfy with a nice big TV screen. Coffee machine. A gorgeous retro pink fridge which I fell in love with and nearly took back with me. The only thing that irked and confused me a bit (bearing in mind I was not familiar with the area) was that the reception is a 15 minute walk away although it is easily accessible from the train station or an Uber. You are asked to call the reception and someone would then meet you at the hotel but in my case I was meeting someone who was coming from somewhere else.But as for the location you cannot go wrong because the choice of restaurants is just incredible. The area is busy so expect a bit of late night noise and obviously in the morning when the cleaning and delivery trucks drive through but nothing excessive. Really worth a visit. Fell in love with the Altstadt.

The reception not being closer. We would have liked to have left our bags to do more sight-seeing but we managed okay.

Good location in the city centre

This apartment was up 4 flights of stairs, wasn't clean and the tv did not work in the living room area. The bathroom had no privacy at all as it's just a glass door, I didn't feel like this was good value for money

Location is good.

There was cleaning towel and some hair in the sink..In the booking it was said that there will be the bottled water, but there was none.Staff was not helpful.. When I called to ask for checkin, she said key is in box and she will send the code. I called after 20min, and she said room is not ready and key is not in the box.After check out, I called 3 times to get the invoice, and every time she said she will send it now, but didn't.I hoped for this price range, some minimums are met...

Location was good, right next to all the bars and nightlife.

Awful experience. First of all, the keys that were left for us were to the incorrect room. We had a large double room booked on the third floor, they had left keys for a single room on the first floor. This meant one of us had to sleep on the floor. I tried to get in touch but response was few and far between. Finally a response was that they would move us 2 miles away out of the center to a new location! This was no good as we came for the nightlife, hence why we paid extra for the location.Second, the rooms facilities were awful. The sink was blocked, it took all day to drain. This left an awful smell in the room constantly. The toilet has no door so no privacy.Overall the team are not helpful, I have asked for a partial refund for our experience and they have offered us the equivalent of 3% of the total cost! They are reluctant to respond and when they do the replies are rude and unhelpful.

Be warned there is no lift , if you've got big or h3avy suitcases

Modern, great beds and location.

No door to the toilet/bathroom. A lot of stairs. Dirty dishes.

Location is very convenient, and the pricing is sensible. Also the room was neat and clean, and exactly like the picture.

During the heatwave the room gets really stuffy, so you have to open windows, but then there's street noise (it's a central location after all). But the pros still outweigh the cons.

Great location, room has good aircon, room is as advertised. Cute little getaway.

It could be noisy at night, I am a heavy sleeper so this did not bother me at all. It is also on the top floor, lots of stairs to go up and down. Doesn't really affect the stay though, just something to keep in mind when you book.

Central location

It's advertised as a hotel, but it is actually a self service room rental service. There is no reception.

Location is great, central. Lovely design of the rooms. Easy check-in and out. You get everything you need, and I really appreciate blackout curtains too

The floor was quite dirty, the mattress in one of the rooms we had (12) needs to be replaced (it is so soft that you can't sit on the side, you'll slide right off. You need to throw yourself into the middle to lie down). The room had an unwelcome scent of citrusy cleaning products. Bathroom could be cleaned better, there were residues of cosmetic products on the shelves. The rooms are soundproof in regards to street noises, but not inside, you will hear people walking and talking in the corridor and staircase. For the price (almost double because of the trade fair week) I would expect better.

Nice room in the city center, clean, response quickly from 'staff'. Bottle of water in the fridge was nive welcome. Enough towels, very clean. Nice bed.

I did not realise this was un apartment and not a hotel so when I showed up earlier to deposit my suitcase (which I was told was ok the day before) there was nobody there. No table in the room to work or sit down to eat.
