Pros +
- Historic building in a very convenient location with excellent connection with transportation network. Great staff!
- The hotel in its antique style is wonderful and very unique. Great experience. Felt like staying in a museum. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Breakfast was very nice with lots of freshly cooked buffet options & served in an attractively appointed breakfast room. Located close to Underground & S-bahn stations. Fresh towels provided each day, upon request.
Cons -
- The internet!!! There pretty much is none. It dropped every few seconds. Not usable at all. We ended up using mobile data all the time. The hotel should not advertise internet because there really is none. We could manage but if someone travels and depends on internet for meetings and work, they will have a big problem!
- No available room safe. No in-room mini-fridge & microwave, especially since there were no communal kitchen facilities available to warm up leftovers & no fridge to store medication requiring refrigeration. Upon first arriving at appointed time, there was no one to check us in & no instructions how to access property. We ended up doing it remotely by phone, which was unexpected. There was an open kitchen area that appeared to be available to guests but, when we entered to explore - as there was absolutely no indication it was off limits to guests, we were verbally attacked by a staff member, who not only yelled at us for being in there, but also insisted we had not actually checked in!!! In retrospect, it seems she was supposed to be staffing the front desk upon our designated arrival, but no one was present to formally check us in & provide a tour/introduction to the facilities, including the uncommunicated strict rules about staying out of the kitchen! Not a warm welcome at all, & jarring to say the least.
- Walls are paper thin, it's like living in someone's house, it was super loud, the wood floor made loud noises; my hairdryer did not work, only for 30 seconds and then you had to cool it off (bad quality)

Location, design, very elegant
Walls are paper thin, it's like living in someone's house, it was super loud, the wood floor made loud noises; my hairdryer did not work, only for 30 seconds and then you had to cool it off (bad quality)
Lovely little hotel, of the kind that you can just love at first sight, not because they are luxurious and modern, but because you see that they care for the quality of your stay, the decorations, the paintings hanging at the walls, the tables, the chairs, ... Everything is done to fight the anonymity of the majority of the hotels out there: every room is different from the next, different volumes, different orientation, different level...Breakfast was a relaxing moment, with lovely little croissants and pains au chocolat, freshly scrambled eggs, and a very good selection on a buffet.
The carpet, although perfectly attuned to a British hotel style, should be renewed.
Great location. Nice and quiet. Comfortable.
No tea, coffee or water in room. No lift in building.
The authenticity of building. Beautiful round top doors with original hardware. High ceilings. Updated bathroom. Helpful staff.
The shower gel dispenser was empty but we improvised with the hand soap. Check in was a little tricky because there wasn’t staff on duty when we checked in but we managed.
Beautiful old town house, warm and cosy room. The breakfast is fantastic, freshly cooked eggs and a wonderful buffet.
Only downside was that I had a very small room with separate bathroom and had to lock my room and the bathroom with a key each time, which is not ideal at 4am.
The room was really lovely, large and spacious with quality furnishings and decor. Bed was comfortable, pillows extremely soft (a little too soft) but manageable. WiFi was non existent which was disappointing. Breakfast had lots of choices and cooked elements were cooked well and were tasty. The breakfast room was elegantly furnished and well equipped. Shower was at a strange angle but again manageable. Although our room was to the front and looked on to the tram lines noise was not an issue once the windows were closed. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming.
Although very near to local transport, trams and trains, more information around how to navigate and use them (and how to pay for them) to reach particular areas would have been helpful as it was a bit of a long walk to the Old Town (for me). We used Uber all the time which was great.

No internet. No employees at night. And no elevator. The stairs are steep and hard to climb with your luggage.

The location was great and the room was clean, not perfect and very friendly staff.
The location is convenient. Nice British style with particular pictures.
I understand that it's Germany, however it's a hotel and with such a name I expected a much better level of English. Didn't like the rush of an early breakfast, limited spots and the poor selection of options. The final bill wasn't initially correct and I paid extra, even though later on received back the money on the card.
It was very clean and the interior design was beautiful. The location is also perfect if you're looking to spend most time in the city centre.
We had heavy luggage and there was no elevator. The makeup mirror in the bathroom was too high and not suitable for use for people below 1.68cm. Also the light of the mirror was broken. There was no tall mirror. Only mirrors for your face or upper body. Also the parking costs were 18 euros a day instead of 16.50 as listed in recent reviews, so they increased the price.Breakfast was most disappointing of all. Because of the small space, we were given times lots to eat breakfast (one hour max). This was not nice. We felt very rushed and one of the staff even asked a person sitting next to us to finish up her breakfast so that others could eat. For a four star hotel asking this much money, this is not acceptable. Also, the staff was cold and unfriendly during breakfast service because there was either only one person working or two. The workload is too much for the staff during breakfast. They have to setup the tables, clear the tables, cook eggs for all the customers, check in customers all at the same time. Also, the coffee was very watery and was filtercoffee. Again you do not expect this from a four star hotel. Also people were told not to sit outside during breakfast (despite the beautiful weather) otherwise the staff would have to walk too much. This takes away from the experience and feels very limited and almost like you are in a ward during breakfast. The atmosphere during breakfast was very somber at times. Personally we think they should reorganise the table set up and go for square tables instead of circle/oval tables. Also increase staff members, add some lounge music and allow people to have breakfast outside during beautiful weather. And last but not least, I would strongly advise a real coffee machine.
The room was very nicely decorated! The beds were super comfortable. We did not eat breakfast but it looked delicious. The staff was very friendly. We had a very nice stay.
Everything was better than expected. However, there is no lift. It was no problem for us, but I’m not sure it is being said in advance.
The location, staff, breakfast, room
Location is very convenient: S-bahn connection, several U-lines, in walking distance from Little Tokyo. The hotel is very nice and beautiful. We didn't mind the stairs, but we also didn't have any suitcases with us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the coffee was great! For breakfast there were eggs (you can choose how you would like your eggs to be cooked), Müsli, waffles, vegetables, fruits, different types of cheese, spreads and meat etc.The room itself was very clean, a lot of place to store your things. Spacious and very nice bathroom. Great working air conditioning - it just saved us when it was +35 +37 outside.
The room is missing a few things: a mini fridge and a tea kettle.
Ideal city location, with nearby tram. Parking in adjacent premises. Stylish presentation on a British theme.
The stairs are very steep so if that would bother you, then check you are booking an appropriate room.
Baroque style, nice pentings on the walls. Good breakfast
