About

Once built as a private mansion in 1869 and later in the hands of bankers, this magnificent 19th-century classical building has been renovated and converted into the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Heritage. The hotel is just 165 ft from the market square and has free Wi-Fi. The Heritage Hotel offers its guests elegant, stylish rooms, all characterized by individual decoration, and nice soft furnishings with well furnished bathrooms. An iPad is available in each room. The house has a 14th-century old cellar with special arches, of which stones are now displayed at the museum of the archaeological society. Guests can enjoy regional dishes in the hotel's restaurant. Cozy restaurants, interesting museums, elegant shops and romantic carriages that take you through the city are only at walking distance. Boat rides on Brugge's famous canals show you the hidden corners of the city. The Relais & Châteaux Hotel Heritage has a pleasant and welcoming lounge with bar. A splendid buffet breakfast is served in the charming 1869 room, which reflects the glorious past of the house.

    Cons -

    • Decor is dated and hotel not nearly luxurious for a RC. Small room.
    • the size of the room was very small, we had difficulty moving arround. The bathroom needs renovation.
    • Twin beds were a little too narrow, and rooms are a little on small side, not sure if there is any room to improve, but not a big problem.

On the positive side, the hotel was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. Also nice decorations within the festive season. The reception staff were kind and welcoming, which made check-in pleasant.

Considering the hotel’s Relais & Châteaux affiliation and the high room rate, the overall experience did not fully meet expectations. Certain areas of the property feel in need of renovation ( bathrooms particularly) , and the stay lacked the small thoughtful touches one would normally expect at this price point. There were no complimentary amenities in the room, and everything was offered at an additional cost. In comparison, other hotels in a similar price range I have stayed always offered a welcome drink or a small gesture from the house.Breakfast was another area where the experience could be improved. Although breakfast was not included , we still wanted to order a few items from the menu of our choice. Instead, the offering felt quite rigid, with a set structure that encouraged ordering additional items such as pastries, juice, and coffee. Despite clearly mentioning that I did not want coffee, it was still offered ( probably that was the standard set up for 2 persons, I guess) leading to a breakfast bill of around €70 which felt excessive and poorly explained. On top of that, the service also felt uncomfortable, as the waiter came across as somewhat snobbish and uninterested.

Beautiful property. Very comfortable room. Nice bar and restaurant. Parking on property. Extremely helpful staff. Excellent location in historic city center.

Location was perfect for touring Brugge. Small boutique hotel with pretty restaurant and nice intimate bar area. Staff felt overwhelmed on a couple of occasions (possibly understaffed) but they made up for it in service once you got their attention.

    Pillows could be more comfortable.

Excellent location, accommodating staff, fabulous breakfast, beautiful room.

Very kind staff, caring. Central location, walking distance from attractions. Amenities in the room as welcome.Excellent restaurant.Parking has extra cost but they charged fully my electric car without getting special instructions.

Bed a little small for us.

The staff at this hotel was EXCELLENT! The room was beyond comfortable. I am not a late sleeper, but the bed was so comfortable I slept till 10 a.m.! You can not bet the location it is located one block from the main square. This hotel would be perfect if you were attending Brugges Christmas. Definitely will stay here again.

At this point there isn't anything I disliked about this hotel.

This hotel is hands down the best! The staff goes above and beyond in every task. We were blessed to stay here for our 35th anniversary. We wish we could have stayed longer. It is a couple blocks from the Market Square and there is a bike rental next door, so you may do some sightseeing. The room is gorgeous and the dining area was so elegant. They offer a turn down service, which I absolutely would encourage, as they put Belgium chocolates on your pillow. Absolutely love the Relais & Chateaux Hotel Heritage in every aspect.

    Nothing. They do everything fabulous!

This was an awful old hotel. Room, reception, especially bathroom. Any 3 star hotel would be better. We left after check in. Lost our money but still enjoyed not staying there.

We were greeted so well on arrival and the service was maintained throughout. Dinner at the Restaurant was excellent. This is a superior property.

The bathroom is a little cramped and the light could be better.

The staff were amazing. The breakfast delicious. The fruit and chocolates so nice. Very prompt housekeeping.

Loud at night from surrounding places. Minor repairs needed in room - window latch broken, shower handle was stuck, weak water pressure, clock phone chargers would not work
