You’ll love the features that make this a grade I listed building while enjoying all the modern amenities, from free Wi-Fi to flat-screen TVs. The iconic quayside and a host of theaters, art galleries, restaurants, and bars are located just a short walk away. For attractions that are a little further afield, you’ll only need to walk for a minute to reach Newcastle’s central train and metro station; you’ll also inevitably enjoy spending plenty of time back at the hotel. Unwind in the swimming pool and sauna and stay on top of your exercise routine in the fitness center.

This is a nonsmoking hotel. Guests are advised that the same card used to make the booking will be required to take the payment. The card used to make the booking has to be presented upon check-in. Leisure Club opening hours are as follows: Monday to Friday, 07:00 until 21:15, Saturday, 09:00 until 17.15 and Sunday 08:00 until 15:!5. Please note last entry into the Leisure Club will be 30 minutes prior to closing time. The Leisure Club will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. For Bank Holiday and Christmas opening and closing times, please contact the hotel direct. Convenient to the train and town. They were quick to bring up an item that I needed.

Cons -

The room was small and dingy.
The room is delpidated, nothing like the site photos a fantasy. Cracks in the ceiling, bathroom sealing bad. Fitness was a joke. No showers rusty or out of use equipment. Room was only cleaned once. Breakfast not ready staff talking instead of serving.
Bed was very hard, room was small, and pillows were awful, either flat or lumpy. They did not service room, and I had to call the desk for toilet paper. The club was extremely loud and I could hear the music thumping until 1:00 am.on Saturday night.

The location was faultless, and the grandeur spoke for itself. The staff were responsive and friendly, and the facilities within the room were above par. Great quality TV, bathroom was great, and no disturbance from outside noise (V important!)

Disappointing that the "double bed" was two singles pushed together, and unfortunately the carpet in my room was very tired- presumably impossible to keep very clean. i was concerned that the creaking floorboards may have disturbed the people below.
