    Pros +

    • Rooms were standard
    • Didn’t have breakfast. Hotel was nice. Nice views
    • Clean, comfortable and ALL staff were exceptional

    Cons -

    • Advertised Free car parking was £20. Hotel keys card initially didn't work (up and down in lift) In rooftop bar after being seated we were ignored by staff. Music played until 03:30 in the morning - unable to sleep
    • The room was a little bit dated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We had to wait 45 minutes to check in due a queue. The first lift we had to wait 20 minutes on top of that to get up to the room. Missing our meal booking after all that waiting. Then when we came back and waited for the lift it was stuck and two people walked out and said they had been stuck for an hour in there. Made our walk up to the room via the stairs which wasn’t the best considering how many flights it was
    • Tv didn’t work as workmen had severed a cable whilst doing work on lift shaft. The rooftop bar was closed- this was one of the main reasons I booked this hotelOnly 1 working lift. Long waits for lift

This is our third stay it’s very close to shops and bars , excellent Italian just over road , shops just a short walk away.Concierge so friendly and found us free parking outside.

    Great location and bars

Our room was tired. Tv didn’t work or the phone to call down to reception to report it. The bathroom was old and rough round the edges, water damage to the floor and bottom of the door. The drainage in the bath/shower was so slow the water was up your calf by the time you’d finished showering.

    It was a good location.

We waited 40 mins to check-in. The lift wasn’t working. The room was dated - windows filthy, curtains hanging off, toilet seat broken. Rooftop bar only available for bookings - no walk-ins.

Great location. Accommodating and welcoming staff making the husband’s birthday weekend with cake/card in room.

The hotel is great, just minor Challenge of a lift being out of action whilst works undertaken on 2nd lift and waiting for lift, once completed this will not impact guests.

The rooms were very good - good size, clean and comfortable, the beds were very comfortable. The decor and general environment was to a high standard. We really enjoyed the breakfast, lovely food and lots of choice.

It was very noisy and we were anxious when there were earplugs left in the room for us - we're not sure where the noise was coming from but there was loud bass music which started at around 7pm and continued until after midnight which slightly ruined our plan to stay in and enjoy the room and the view with some takeaway food and made it difficult to get to sleep.

Breaskfast was amazing, lovely and fresh

No lift working sat night and had to walk 11 floors, but was working by morning

    All good.

    Location

Staff at reception were rude and unhelpful. Many communications before arriving to ensure 2 connecting rooms and all prepaid so I didn't have to do anything as was a special birthday treat but connecting rooms locked, bookings not correct and staff not interested. Charged for a quay view room and was not at front overlooking Quay was pretty much on top of railway line at the sude.Oh and my poor hubby told them on 4 occasions on telephone, on booking and via email it was my birthday and I even mentioned to reception and no effort at all. Wish I'd read the trip advisor reviews!

The location was perfect, friendly staff, very comfortable rooms and very good breakfast.

Could have had a hand rail to get in and out of the shower, which was over the bath.

Lovely room, great building. Nice central location in Newcastle.

We went on a Saturday night and from 11pm-4am there were people loudly talking and slamming doors. A lady was screaming at 3am—4am and while the staff did come to escort her out after that time, bringing this up to the concierge was met with “that’s a shame” which for not getting enough sleep was a bit of an understatement.

Staff were helpful and kind Stylish surroundings Fantastic location

Expensive for what you get. Very expensive mini bar... 2.75 for water

    8MichaelPosted on: 2-7-2026

Beautiful decor. Lovely bars and restaurants.

Room was chilly. Only one small radiator isn't big enough to warm such a large room.

    7ChrisPosted on: 2-6-2026

Ideal for purpose - great lounge/ bar area - very helpful concierge and staff - criticism is that it was advised that the holding 50£ on card was returnable in 10 days / why 10 days ? It should be re-funded immediately on check out and it should not remain in the hotel chains account for any longer . Infact it was returned the next day but this needs addressing

    Great central location

Our apartment living space was uncomfortable. We were there for Christmas with our grown up children and there was nowhere to all sit together and relax. The area provided was more like a booth for eating and not at all like a sofa for lounging so it was impossible for the 4 of us to relax together. The bedrooms were comfortable and the price was excellent.
