Each of The Telstar's rooms benefits from a TV and DVD player, and some also benefit from scenic views. Guests at The Telstar can enjoy a full English breakfast in the morning, with food made from local ingredients. Lighter options are available, including juice, cereal, fruit salad, prunes and yogurt. Exeter University can be reached in 15 minutes on foot, and Exmouth is a 30-minute drive away. The edge of Exmoor National Park can be reached in 45 minutes by car.

- Location is brilliant, very close to Exeter St David's station, yet close to central Exeter and cathedral via well lit, safe streets. The hotel has been sensitively renovated yet is not precious. Very good value - good breakfast - prunes available.
Cons -
- Not ideal for a large lumbersome heavy footed person as footboards are quite creaky.
