The Old Red Lion Inn

One of the members of staff was particularly efficient and friendly during our stay. The room was very clean and aestheticly pleasing. The bathroom was also very clean with nice little touches toiletries etc. The bed made for a comfortable night's sleep.

Continental breakfast sufficient with toast, banana and yogurt however a little more choice would be nice e.g.cereal, croissant. We were only given one bath towel and one hand towel.Other staff, although polite, could have been more welcoming and friendly

I never bother with the breakfast / packed lunch.

We were attending a family birthday celebration in the pub restaurant so decided to stay at the same location. The room was well appointed and extremely clean. Plenty of parking in the car park. When we arrived pub was very busy and we did confirm on booking that assistance to the room was not required so could book in earlier than advertised. Continental breakfast included in room price, this included fruits, cereals, pastries, toast and conserves but at weekends can upgrade to a cooked breakfast for an additional charge. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food and service were excellent.

The heating in the room could have been put on to ensure the room was warm for arrival. Took a while for the heater to take off the chill in the room complimentary coffee, tea water and biscuits should match number of occupants not one of each. This is not a critique but a tip to future guests that a hairdryer is not provided so you may wish to pack one for your stay, together with your other toiletries. Breakfast is served at one time only and at 9am on a weekend away was a little early than we would have liked on a Sunday morning.

My only comment would be the shower/bath didn't work very well as it had a circular rail over a freestanding bath, and when you turned to divert on the bath tap it sprayed all over the floor.They were renovating the hallways, so it would be good if they can do the bathrooms too

Purpose built bedroom block, good continental breakfast included. Bed large and quite comfortable.

Mansard roof awkward in bathroom. Very dated bathroom but adequate.

The friendly staff, lovely room and excellent food.

A few things, especially in the bathroom, need attention: eg the towel rail didn't work, the door needs some shaving off at the bottom, the basin plug is unreliable, the loo seat is awry.

The place, the food, the staff especially were great. The room was a little spartan, but fine.

Great location , quiet and private accommodation. Excelent food and service from staff . Property clean and meet our expectations. I would recommend 100% to anyone who would like to visit .
