Clayton Hotel Cambridge

The Hotel Receptionist - Suhas was fantastic, he greeted us very well, he was friendly, professional and very helpful and he even upgraded our room to a king suite with a balcony as we decided to stay in Cambridge at the last minute after spending a lovely afternoon having lunch and drinks with a friend that I was visiting - I came all the way from Australia and we had a lovely chat about that too.Suhas also guided us to the best place to park overnight for our car and this was within walking distance of the hotel. The bar staff were very professional too as we had a drink in the bar / restaurant area before retiring to our room. I only wished we could have stayed a few more days and use all the facilities located at this hotel.The location was perfect - I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Cambridge

Possibly provide car parking facilities but that was no big deal given the distance of other car parks near the hotel

Size of room

Long wait at reception post 3pm to get into the property. The chocolate strawberries were stale and were not presented well. No water bottle provided and no fresh towels

Incredibly clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable- the best ever. Lots of great extras too.

I love the Clayton Hotel. The staff are always most welcoming, even for very late check ins. The location is perfect -- 3 minute walk to Cambridge station platforms. The breakfast is great. The gym is much better equipped versus most other hotel gyms -- there are a decent set of free weights and cardio machines.

A really lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to all at the hotel.

Everything was wonderful

Very clean, bed was amazing, great shower, lovely staff. Breakfast was amazing! Best breakfast in a hotel. So many options. Anyone looking to stay in Cambridge stay here

The hotel was lovely all the facilities are clean and up to date just making it a perfect place to stay the night 15 minutes away from town so close and convenient it honestly amazing.

Nice spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Staff very accommodating in providing different pillow upon request. Good wifi. Nice breakfast. Location next to the station with easy access to buses into town (but a bit far to walk).

Using room card to make the lift work. They first warn me at reception and I couldn’t find it!

Only grumble was that the bar shut at 11pm

A beautiful stay at a glorious property. Wonderful rooms, beautiful bar, efficient staff. Wonderful and friendly concierge. Bathroom is spacious & modern. Rooms are large, but remain well heated, important in a bitter winter. Please note that the atrium is a wonderful place to meet. Do not feel reluctant to enjoy a drink there.

One person on the concierge with a school party checking in could have been remedied more quickly, but this is but a mere quibble on the whole.

The location of the property is great, it’s newly constructed and is maintained nicely.

Bit pricey and vegetarian/vegan options are limited on the food menu.
