Boasting an 18-hole golf course and beautiful grounds to explore, Cambridge Bar Hill Hotel really is a place to unwind, let your hair down and enjoy some valuable ‘me’ time in beautiful Cambridgeshire. There is a wealth of attractions nearby if you fancy exploring the world around you. We’re located on the A14, just a mile from the M11, so getting around is a breeze. There’s also a bus stop just around the corner with regular services into the center of Cambridge. The famous academic city is 5 miles away, with its mesmerizing colleges and museums including the Fitzwilliam, home to over half a million artworks. One of the best ways to take in the sights is on a punt along the River Cam and, in the evening, see the city from a different perspective as it comes alive with cocktail bars and clubs. Elsewhere, Duxford’s Imperial War Museum has more than 300 aircraft on display, while Newmarket beckons for a day at the races. We have an onsite fitness rooms and each of our contemporary bedrooms have comfortable mattresses and plump pillows to help you get a great night’s sleep. You can relax in the Gallery Bar, which offers a selection of drinks and bar meals and has a decked area overlooking the golf course – pleasant in the warmer months.

Pros +
- Breakfast was nice, very nice .
- We had a dog friendly room which we were very pleased with. It was a big room and the bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant, the staff were very nice and both the food and wine were great.Location was perfect being close to Cambridge for a day out and then for getting onto the A14.
- Quality, cleanliness, simple check-in
Cons -
- I thought the bedrooms were dated, the shower water pressure was very low, toilet flushing was difficult. There was no safe in the room , bathroom was a little old and seen better days, drinks expensive, food expensive.
- The bath hadn't been cleaned that well, there was a line around the bath! The rest of the bathroom was clean as was the room and all the linen was fresh. It didn't bother us a we had a shower and we had been staying in campsites for the previous 3 weeks, so it was nice to have a bathroom to ourselves.
- Rubbish in car park. Charge for parking. Bedside light not working

Comfortable bed, nice shower and nice bar area
Everything was fine
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
Hotel entrance. Not met by a smiling face (that was hidden round the corner) but rather by two 'terminals' inviting automatic checking in. Very modern day but not what I would call welcoming.
Will not be coming back.
Smell of the room was disgusting and the changed room because of the smell was not good either. The shower didn’t work, we booked double room and got 2 single beds with a lower grade room. Was told will refund some amount of money back. The staffs couldn’t refund it so waiting to hear from finance team on Monday since the refund is not getting to bank account but the system keeps trying to take more money from my account said by the hotel receptionist.
Clean tidy reasonably priced, reasonable food on site
Pay parking
Was fairly discreet
No fridge in the room, plugs not near the bed and no usb ports to charge the mobileToilet was difficult to flush as needed to be pushed down multiple times for the flush to work, edge of the bath had a rotten patch of wood, and only enough coffee and milk for one coffee each.
Bed was very comfy and room was clean. The bar staff were friendly and it's a great location to get the number 5 bus into the city.
It was a bit noisy at night with the doors locks slamming, but otherwise quiet location, considering it is near a main road
It was really a surprise, a huge room with a king size bed and a sofa in the room. Close to the town center. The bed was comfortable, plenty of room.
There is an extra charge for parking your car, Not sure if it is mentioned. I booked this just an hour before we arrived and I may have overlooked that fact.
Very clean and easy to parkThe food was very good
We didn’t have enough towels. There wasn’t a hair dryer The tissue box was empty and there wasn’t any spoon’s to stir the hot drinks
Beautifully decorated and really comfortable bed
A little noise from traffic but to be expected with the location
Breakfast was excellent as was the staff
Bathroom was shabby And the fact that I had 2 payments charged to my credit card after I checked out
Practical location at Bar Hill just a few minutes North of the M11/A14 junction. There is a good restaurant and a Tesco Extra within walking distance.
Shower had grody, old-looking fixtures with no hot water- had to go to reception and complain 3 times over 2 days to get them to fix it by letting me have a different room. Rooms have no electric wall outlets near bed for charging laptop or phone on bedstand so had to go to the nearby Tesco to buy an extension cord. NO FREE PARKING. Even this far outside of city they actually nickel and dime you with 4 pounds per night parking fee (and that may be the cheap off-season rate). Not staying here again.
Everything is nice and Clean. The staff are very approachable and friendly. Thank you Kira
Great experience staying at Bar Hill. Thank you
Quiet room with a comfy bed made for a good night’s sleep. The hotel Receptionist and the man working behind the bar were both lovely (friendly and helpful).
Only one vegan main dish on the menu, so we decided to go out and eat instead. Lady behind the bar wasn’t exactly warm and customer focused - she gave the impression she didn’t really want to be there.
Room, breakfast and staff were great, good meal options at restaurant
pay to park
Great location as dropping so off to Cambridge uni
Check-in was not personal a machine to check in and out. Bar was great the only member staff we saw and spoke to.Don’t like the fact that even though we were staying there still had to pay for parking not a huge amount but still had to park
Free water and sweets in reception.Self check in
You have to pay for the carkparkProblems with card payments.Shower was quite small
The price & nice restaurant
Advertised to have a pool, but wasn’t one
