Pros +
- Location was good. Staff were friendly.
- The breakfast menu was nice. CHeck in was available from 2 as we arrived early. There was a big car park.
- Stayed the night with autistic grandson he loved the spa
Cons -
- The soundproofing was non existent as we could hear other guests arguing or shouting at their children. The doors to the rooms were very noisy when opening and shutting.Room felt grubby with poor cleaning standards.
- I recently stayed at the Cambridge Hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.I booked three twin rooms, spending close to £500, so I expected a comfortable and pleasant stay. However, from the moment we arrived, there was a strong smell of mouldy dampness in the corridor leading down to our rooms. The odour was overwhelming — it genuinely took your breath away — and this persisted for the entire duration of our stay. It gave a very poor first impression and made returning to the rooms unpleasant every time.To add to the frustration, after spending nearly £500 on accommodation, I was then charged an additional £10 to park in the hotel car park. The hotel is not situated near the town centre — it’s at least a mile’s drive down a private lane before you even reach the property — so charging guests for parking feels completely unreasonable and unnecessary.I waited to speak with the manager about the principle of this parking charge, only to be told to email her instead, despite being informed she was somewhere on site. That lack of willingness to address concerns face-to-face was extremely disappointing. The beds and pillows were also uncomfortable and outdated which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

The location was lovely and easy to access
Having to pay for parking especially when it’s not accessible by public transport
We’ve been a few times Staff are brilliant Rooms are clean and comfortable Overall great experience
Now what you pay isn’t all when you arrive at the property they now make you pay £10.50 per 24 hours which changes the price. I feel the parking like other hotels should be free for paying guests.
Very poor
No central heating in the room, dirty shower pipes, jazzucci bath did not work. Bathroom light broken. Sink plug broken. Mould around the window. Not a good experience for a superior room.
Thecsetting of hotel
Toilet brush disgusting, tv to small, bar staff very poor
The spa was lovely. Gym fantastic. Bed was a lovely size with all the amenities you would need. Lovely location too as it is nestled in the middle of the Cambridgeshire country side. Staff were neither overly friendly or unfriendly. Breakfast was superb.
Swimming pool was cold upon visit. The bed was not the most comfortable of beds. I did not like having to pay for parking too, not sure why this is not advertised upon booking.
Room was lovely we were in the courtyard in a Queens Suite. The hotel itself was very bright and clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast we had was very good although the service was a little slow. This was due to the fact there was a young girl on her own dealing with everything. She was however very polite and helpful. I used the pool a couple of times during my stay. It was very nice clean and facilities good. Again staff very helpful.
It didnt make it clear when we booked that we would have to pay £10 for parking at the hotel. Also you had to do this on an app which was ok but some older residents would have struggled with this. The only place in the hotel that if felt probably needed a bit of TLC was the bar area. Although it was very light and open it didn't have that cosy feel and felt a little clinical.
Great location and picturesque.
Was disappointed that after spending a lot of money on our stay and meal, shouldn’t have to pay for parking.
Clean, rooms comfortable, available parking spaces They have a very tasty & lovely food. Complement to the chef.
A bit pricey, service for breakfast a bit slow
good spa facilities
The food was over seasoned and very salty. Couldn't eat it.
I enjoyed the spa
I got fined £100 for the car park! I'd been before and never had to pay for the car park. Apparently the rules have changed and now the residents must pay £10. I didn't know about it, no one told us the rules have changed. No one asked if we had payed when we were leaving or asked us if we had seen the new signs. When we called and asked for help with the appeal - the receptionist and the manager were very unpleasant and said it was all our fault as we should read the signs- they are all over the car park. I'm never going back and will tell all friends not to bother as well
Breakfast not up to standard as to what paid
Having to pay £10.20 to park the car when the hotel is isolated. Dinner menu poor, more like a McDonalds, chips with everything!
Not good
Charge you 10£ per night to park - Ring Go app, on site, don’t get it!!!!!!Human body fluids on bed runner, bath not clean (draining for the basin and bath terrible), - late check in after a 12 hour shift - no time to complain.Overall - this room needs a deep clean, I won’t mention what I found behind the bed when I pulled I out to sort the cover…
The location , and the use of the spa.
Parking charges as it’s the hotels own land and not NCP I think parking should be free. They take 50.00 holding fee Upon check in
Lovely food and great location. Big room with comfortable bed.
Room felt cold on arrival. Parking is expensive.
Reasonable price for Cambridge and very clean.
Given the hotel is rural it is outrageous that they have begun charging for parking at £10 per day! I will not stay here again for that reason. The rooms were also very cold and the small wall heaters were not sufficient to warm them up.
Use of the pool was nice to relax after a long journey. Staff were very welcoming and helpful
We hd a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was excellent clean and spacious. The spa facilities were first class. We booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal and had superb choice of menu. Our whole experience of the hotel was 100%. We would highly recommend
