Pros +
- good location
- The staff is amazing, allowing us to drop off our luggage early. The room and shower are spacious. My delicious dinner was an added bonus, mushroom toast. The best I have ever had. I was especially surprised that not only do they offer liquid soap, but also a lotion dispenser. This was offered in their restaurant bathroom. Noah is a pleasure, and an angel.

This is the second time we have stayed here and would definitely rebook. Staff very friendly and helpful, the pub downstairs has a great bar and there is a restaurant and outdoor area.

Perfect location with friendly staff. Room was great and comfortable. Food in the pub was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was really good for what I needed. The bed very comfortable and the shower super.
The hand basin was a tad small but workable.
The rooms are cute and above a lovely pub. The barman/staff was extremely helpful and even paid for my on-street parking in front of the pub/mini-hotel when I couldn't get the app to work on my phone (and I paid him back I cash). The location is extremely handy for visiting Cambridge University - it was a nice and short walk into the heart of the University town. The pub downstairs had terrific food (quite fancy - gastro-pubby)
While the room, decor, little coffee station and bathroom were all quite nice, the room was very warm - and I could only get one of the two windows to open. There is no AC which is not a surprise, but we were there in July and it was very stuffy in the room. There is a large oscillating fan mounted up high in a corner that helped - but it was in the alcove by the door and not close enough to the bed to be of much help. Otherwise, all was good.
Staff was excellent and drinks were priced well and bar staff were friendly. The location was also a short walk to city centre.
Convenient location to downtown Cambridge.
Decor a bit tired and could do with cleaning/updating stairs and doors to rooms.
The pub was nice, breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and a good size, but varied a lot.
The inn needs a serious overhaul. Carpets on the upper floor hallways were filthy and the hallways were hotter than an oven. Door handles were falling apart. No AC and it was HOT. Too hot for sleeping.
Staff went above and beyond!! The location is perfect for walking to places. The double paned windows to the outside were such a nice addition that they really care about guest comfort!
The ONLY issue I had was that I could hear the neighboring room people talking late into the night. It was almost like they were sitting in my room chatting. It only happened one of the three nights I was there. I used my earbuds to fall asleep but walls do seem paper thin.
Nicely decorated. Comfortable bed. Quiet location and food was very good.
Room was dusty in places although bed and bathroom were spotless. Nowhere else to eat in the immediate vicinity and no parking.
Very friendly staff, ease of check-in, simple room but clean comfortable beds and modern bathroom.Dog-friendly!
The room was a bit dark due to small window.
No wardrobe or drawers plus 2 coat hangers.1 comfortable chair plus a stool. It was not made clear that the pub didn’t have a car park and that breakfast was not included.Towels were changed every day-not necessary. The staff were very pleasant and the beer was excellent. The breakfast reports on Booking .com were excellent but we found our 1 breakfast was very ordinary.I have found the information on Booking.com very informative but not this time
About a mile outside of Cambridge but getting anywhere near Cambridge is a nightmare especially a value place.Great findBreakfast is amazing!
Central
Old dodgy shower. Hooks on wall broken.Generally tired
Great location close to river and townComfortable quiet room
The location? The pub downstairs had good coffee, the boutique rooms and all the body care products (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) were very nice and unique. The coffee provided in the room + the milk.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to enjoy the coffee cause the kettle looked a bit rusty it was a problem but a room for improvement to do a round of check up. Was a bit confusing to check in since there was not visible sign on where go.
It was an ok location to walk to the centre of Cambridge. Can bring you dog.
I was in room 7. I ended up leaving at 4am due to people outside my room shouting, swearing and screaming relentlessly all night. I didn't get a wink of sleep and felt quite unsafe. There isn't any reception/concierge service, everyone goes home when the bar shuts so I couldn't report this to anybody. I didn't have a working shower, again couldn't report to anyone as the bar was shut. Not only didn't it work at all, it was constantly dripping and had to use all the towels in an attempt to drain the noise out (which didn't help much). The bathroom and room wasn't clean at all. Lots of hair in the sink. Hard crumbs and hair in my bed. Toilet handle was hanging off. Scuffs all along the wall. As a solo young female traveller I was shocked when the member of staff who checked me in spotted me in a bar in the city centre and said ' aren't you staying at the waterman'. I thought this was very unprofessional and made me feel quite uncomfortable as others around could hear and it's actually quite unsafe. There isn't any grass outside the property so when I took my dog out for a late night wee I felt quite unsafe as I had to walk down the road to a dark field.
Excellent shower and bathroom. Nice toiletries. Nice coffee in the room. Comfy bed. Friendly staff.
No milk with the tea and dirty mugs weren't replaced during room clean, room very small and a bit tired looking for the price.
The room was excellent. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom had an amazing shower and it was very clean. The arrival was really easy, with very friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay!
Even with the window open, it was quite hot!
