    Pros +

    • Amazing location with beautiful views. Underground parking although £40 made travel to easy. Helpful and friendly check in /reception staff. Lovely spacious room with good facilities.
    • Ideal location and incredible staff.
    • Breakfast quality needs to improve and tables need to be cleaned regularly. Staff generally needs to be a bit more attentive to guests needs.

    Cons -

    • Quite a wait for drinks at the bar which is to be expected when all cocktails handmade with care but felt staff should acknowledge those waiting. Fridge in room is very small so fine for one night but for longer stays larger storage would be helpful (staff helpfully got us an ice bucket to keep our things cool).
    • The trades unloading rather loudly below my window early to prevent a lazy morning.

The staff were excellent. We requested an early check-in and, to our delight, they managed our request. Thank you.

The restaurant was full. It was a Saturday night and we should have booked.

wonderful room and bed, massive bathroom, great concierge service, great location.

check in was slightly late after 4pm but the excellent room and concierge service made up for it!

Location, location, location. There are very few places like the University Arms in Cambridge so it is a stand out.

We organised 2 rooms and even confirmed everything when we checked in- but the front desk staff put our other party in the wrong room.

Very attentive staff; nice jazz music in bar in evening

breakfast was pricey; bar staff struggled with bill and got pricing wrong twice

    9RonniePosted on: 1-27-2026

Vestibule good. Dining room good. Appearance and general tidiness good. Room warm, bed comfortable. Fridge a good aDDITIOJ.

Can't think of anything. We have been coming here since 1989 and whenever we return, whether it is just for breakfast, lunch or overnight stay, the University Arms is our first port-of-call. It was quite frustrating when you were closed for up-=grading.

    Location

Nice bathroom- bedroom basic lots of marks on carpet

Despite residing in Cambridge, we chose Parker’s Tavern for a celebratory stay, and it was an excellent decision. The décor is superb—stylish without feeling overdone—and the front-of-house team and staff were genuinely outstanding: attentive, warm, and highly professional throughout. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally well maintained. The whole experience felt calm, comfortable, and genuinely relaxing, and we had a fantastic day and stay overall.I would highly recommend staying here. For a premium property in the heart of Cambridge, it represents excellent value and delivers on every level.

Great location, comfortable room, great shower room. Very nice breakfast with good coffee.

Bar staff very slow, inattentive and odd system for drinks.

    9CarolPosted on: 1-22-2026

    Luxury feel

Not enough staff on bar or breakfast. It lead to giving up on trying to order a second drink at the bar and buffet refill delays/slow table clearance at breakfast. Staff who were there were trying hard, just not enough of them to get the service excellence I’d expect from this hotel.

    Location. Breakfast, good staff

    10KellyPosted on: 1-15-2026

Clean, well decorated, staff were very efficient and helpful. Room was spacious with a nice clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The bar downstairs is fantastic! The location is perfect for the city centre. Breakfast was very good.

The tv wouldn’t connect to the Bluetooth in our phones - a very small gripe! Oh and my macaroni cheese from room service was appalling but I got a refund and an apology.

Location was excellent. Car parking with electric chargers

We had an issue with the room overheating. Rectified for second night.

    9RupertPosted on: 1-12-2026

Fine and elegant historic hotel in the middle of Cambridge, plus the excellent food

Our room only had a view of a rooftop

    9CardyPosted on: 1-10-2026

    Great location & fantastic staff!

Nothing! Had a bit of an issue as room hadn’t been cleaned but the concierge sorted it quickly

    10SimonePosted on: 1-2-2026

Iconic building, excellent location and wonderful staff

    6AbubakrPosted on: 1-2-2026

Excellent location, decent size gym, and friendly staff

My room was on the second floor, not much privacy with the excellent Parker’s piece view. Would have liked a higher floor room better!

    9GuyPosted on: 1-1-2026

It was well located, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and clean.

I looked at the bar area and it was more like a family room with a bar, so didn’t stop in for a drink as we were were just a couple
