- The hotel is very central. 2 minutes walking distance to the Fitzwilliam museum and about 10 minutes into the city center. The hotel itself has a nice interior. We had a very spacious and comfortable room and really enjoyed our stay.
- Liked the location, staff very friendly and helpful.Room comfortable, slept well.Shower amazing plus bath nice snd big.
- Lovely suite on top floor, away from.road so quiet despite being so central. Helpful staff (we moved rooms as 1st room.smelled!). Large comfy bed. Huge shower and bath in bedroom. On street parking overnight in front of hotel (restricted hours). Ideal location for 5 mins walk into town. Superb breakfast.

- There isn’t anything I didn’t like. I would recommend this hotel if you are coming to Cambridge!
- Room clean but sweet found under cabinet and a leaf from a flower on floor too.Bathroom fairly clean. Some toothpaste splashes etc behind bathroom door and toilet roll holder broken, therefore difficult to use it properly.
- Dim lighting in room! No

Dim lighting in room! No
Great location just out of the busy parts of the town centre but only a stones throw away.
Room was slightly tired, could do with a deep clean or repaint.
Fantastic location. Staff friendly.
We got down graded!! Not impressed. Room very cold and drafty.
The food we had was very good and the location is ideal
The front of house staff are generally very young and more importantly poorly trained. Both the room service menu and the breakfast menu reduced as they had run out of some options. It was half term week and the hotel was relatively empty. The heating in the room is controlled by a box in reception that fixes the temperature, I assume to save cost. 16 degrees in Feb is too cold and I couldn’t increase it on the controls in the room so I had to go to reception to get them to change it as the phone wasn’t answered. This is a first for me, not being able to control the temperature in the room you are in.We stayed in one of their ‘Cinema Suites’ it was not clean and the cinema room was not pleasant. Oh and the bottled water requested in the Library room was tap water but they charge for it !We won’t stay in this hotel again and I would suggest that others look for better options available in the city in equally good locations, The Graduate Hotel or Hilton maybe? I have stayed in other du Vin hotels but this is most definitely the worst by quite a margin !
Lovely large comfortable roomAnd bed . Liked having a window that opened .
Bath beautiful but difficult to get out of. Safety mat essential!
Comfortable / spacious /period
External noise from aircon units
The suit was beautiful, the well was really a nice touch and the whole place felt so authentic and stunning. I appreciate the free drinks. 2 cokes, 2 diet cokes, 2 Heineken, 2 other beers 2 wine in a can, and 2 other flavoured cans of wine. The espresso machine was nice, the tv was great however it doesn't work well on iPhones. The outside private area was really beautiful and such a nice vibe! The bed was comfortable, the sofa was clean. The toiletries were all there and the shampoo, body wash all smelt incredible!! The lighting was amazing!
Regarding the TV my misses with an apple iphone couldn't cast her phone to the TV but luckily me being on Android, i didnt have any issues at all. There was a mini fridge but it was not connected and turned on, later realised the plug wasn't on. The outdoor private area doesn't have a handle outside, and the ash tray wasn't on top of the table, instead it was flipped upside down where the leaves are. The thermostat was awful. It was stuck on 22 degrees which i did find it too warm, and even tho there are arrows pointing up and down, you couldn't lower it or increase it. It would have been nice if they included breakfast bars but honestly the fact that they had all these alcoholic drinks free for the taking fully makes up for it. I wish i could adjust the picture quality and the sound quality through the remote settings but it wasn't a problem at all, just a nice to have but i understand how frustrating it could be for the workers to have to constantly reset it. The shower has a leak on the top, so when you turn it on, it turns into a fountain. The left side of the bed pointing to the wall, the bed side lamp brightness was not adjustable but the other side was (literally such a minor thing)
central location, excellent meals, attentive and friendly staff
signposting within the hotel.More intelligent and extensive lighting layout within bedrooms
A really lovely hotel in a great location. The staff were very welcoming. Great bar and seating area.
A good hotel and consistent with our experiences of others in the HdV chain. The meals were very good. Accessibility on entering the property and within it is awkward in places, due to lots of steps, heavy doors and quirks of the interesting building.

Breakfasts were good though it was a pain if you are a tea drinker. Getting hot water out of a coffee machine is not fun. The room was lovely, and a good place just to hang-out in. I would recommend the hotel just for the rooms.
Getting hot water out of the coffee machine for tea in the morning isn't great. The catering staff are understaffed both for breakfast and dinner. It isn't very relaxing when service is very stretched.
The room was fantastic and very comfortable. And pretty too! Breakfast was very nice and staff were always friendly and helpful. Very close to the city centre and easy to walk there.

Too hot in room and windows don’t open for fresh air, remote thermostat didn’t work
Always stay here in Cambridge - just beautiful rooms, all individual in a lovely period property in a wonderful part of the city.
Room was too cold - I stayed New Year’s Eve in a different room and had same problem. That time, the staff brought heaters as they couldn’t fix it. This time I was with my 86-year-old Mum and her room was also cold. Our friend in a different room which had radiators was fine. So it seems to be the rooms which are heated from the hotel’s central system. Bathrooms are fine as have underfloor heating. I didn’t report the problem this time until checking out as we were late to bed and I couldn’t face the intrusion of having someone come to the room. Please sort it as I’m a regular and a big fan - but would think twice booking again until the weather warms up.
Always stay here - beautiful period building. This time stayed in the room with its own underground cinema which was great.
Too cold! Bedroom was icy - it couldn’t be fixed by staff who eventually came and turned off the cold air that was blowing out and brought us little heaters. Bathroom fine as underfloor heating. Didn’t spoil the trip but we specially chose to spend New Year’s Eve here and so it was disappointing. Perhaps a complimentary bottle of fizz or a free cocktail might have been in order here - but nothing. Such a shame as it’s our favourite hotel in Cambridge and we stay here a lot.
Carpeted flooring, big bay window, large TV, and location (very close to the Fitzwilliam Museum and River Cam).
Amazing location. Spacious room Helpful staff
Our first room was noisy but the staff listens to our comments as moved us straight away.
Cozy room, with confortable bed and nice bathroom (L'Occitane bath products are a plus). Tasty breakfast a la carte
