- The spa was excellent, unexpectedly nice.It felt sumptious in the hallways and stairs with the thick carpets and everything felt like it had had a facelift.Bed was comfortable, always an essential.
Cons -
- Not really.
- Spa is nice but small and expensive for treatments, probably wouldn’t bother in the futureLate checkout fee was £90 prebooked but when we looked in the info booklet in the room it said £20 an hour which would make it £60
- There shouldn't be a £10 service charge for room service, either offer it or not.Disappointed there wasn't a pool for the kids. May reconsider whether to bring the kids next time.If it's a 4pm check in then it should be 12 check out, not 11am.

Old school glamour combines with modern luxe. We loved it!
Everything. A completely faultless experience. I am pretty sure we were upgraded in terms of room which was fabulous. One of the best I have stayed in in the uk certainly. All members of staff were fantastic I can’t single out anyone everyone was fab.
Very comfortable, a beautiful building. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was well equipped and the bed was comfortable.
Food and service very good.Bedrooms and decor, beautiful
Drinks prices are too expensive
There was a great choice and the service was first class by the staff always on hand to help
I think the communal areas were cold and when seating on sofas by lifts there was the smell of dampness
Love how the staff are attentive and welcoming. Organisation of the breakfast is excellent. The breakfast is value for money compared with cafes, restaurants in the area.
Historical, very well maintained and modern amenities.
Location and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.Ash - duty manager enjoys her job and helped us greatly.
The first room the rug wasnt that clean and not hoovered and the bed moved easily away from the head stead
Great location, beautiful big room, very clean, comfy bed and even dog friendly! The hotel provided feeding bowls and a bed and even a bag of treats.
Refurbish is looking good.
Lack of security presence at night. Many people walk in and out unchecked which is a concern for me. A non customer walked in while my wife and I were have an evening drink and began taking pictures of the bar and hotel unchallenged and came right up to us. Not a very nice experience for us and quite unsettling.
Location and parking
Some staff a little obnoxious
Beautiful building. All area just stunning. Rooms looked very newly done. Super clean and very comfortable.
Nothing!
The staff were exceptional, always friendly. Room was very clean and spacious.
Limited parking
Professional kind caring staff. Especially Lilly who I spoke to.
Everything
Good seafront location
Everything was extra - breakfast / gym / parking / pool and all very expensive.
What went well? Everything. The staff of The Grand were friendly and very professional. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
One small thing the writing on the toiletries are in a series of pump action bottles on which the writing was to small of me to read without my glasses.
The staff reception and the breakfast hall were really hospitable and greets you with a smile making you forget about the room yiu were given which clearly has not been cleaned properly .
The room given to us which cost £250 plus was not what I was expecting. The pillowcase was inside out when put in. The sheets which supposed to be tucked in was lose like the housekeeping team were all exhausted that they can't even shove it in. Then there were crisps on the carpet, near the tele stand and even on the chair. This is a 4 star hotel? I guess they should get it down to 2 star. Then the kettle, yes the kettle that's got stain of chocolate? Or God knows what it is. It truly is not what I have expected. I was aiming to get at least a refund of some sort but I got sick, and I don't have the energy to speak anymore. So I'm glad we can drop this review i have photos of the said pillowcase sheets and crisps. Forgot to take a photo of the kettle. This should not be a 4 star it should be a 2 star Even the table inside the breakfast hall is wobbly. Got the picture of it
Just across the main road from the beach was great.
The room was fine but there was a constant noise (24 hrs) from the outside which seemed to be coming from a generator (?) in the inner courtyard which unfortunately made for an interrupted night's sleep. Given the age of the hotell, the floors creaked incredibly loudly everytime somebody walked along the corridor past my room.
