    Pros +

    • We did not eat breakfast
    • Nice staff but rooms could...
    • Great location. Friendly staff. Parking was available (but pricey)

    Cons -

    • The room was excessively warm, windows could not be opened. The toilet was continually running so water was heard throughout the night, the cold tap was difficult to turn off. The bathroom floor sloped towards the bath making it difficult when stepping over the bath out of the shower.
    • Very noisy rooms- can hear when people take showers at 4.30am in different rooms and floors. Can hear conversations in next door rooms and doors slam through out corridor.Very poor nights sleep.
    • Breakfast was awful. We were told they serve breakfast from 8-11. We went 9:15 there was hardly any choice, all warm trays were cleaned. No coffee machine or tea. When we asked receptionist she went to kitchen surprised and informed us that all trays with warm english breakfast were cleaned and now they serve platess. Ok we asked for full english and coffee. What we received was the worst breakfast we ever had. Coffee we didnt drink as it was awful, cant even describe how bad it was. Breakfast was half a plate eggs, the tiniest sausage ive ever seen, bacon and a little bit of beans. Thats it. There were some toast available and not very well looking ham and cheese. Pastries were so hard like there were there for few days. I have been in many hotels and prices for breakfast were similar, but this was the worst so far.

I did not have breakfast as I only like a light breakfast but the dining room looked lovely and clean

I honestly cannot pick out anything that I didn't like. That's why I keep coming back to this hotel because its lovely

Great location on the front with good staff. Comfortable bed and all facilities in room. Staff cleaned room daily. Plenty of shower consumables and clean towels

Room a bit tight getting past bed end and getting in and out of wardrobe. Bath base surround broken and a bit tatty, could be replaced.

Great location at a good price for Brighton. Clean, comfortable room. Powerful shower was a bonus.

The room was quite lovely and spacious, with a great view. Breakfast was great. Good variety and decent value. The staff was extremely friendly. It's a beautiful, old, seaside hotel that is now owned by an international chain.

We were told the room had a king size bed. It was definitely a queen size, but it appears the hotel doesn't really have king beds. We would likely have chosen a less costly room had we known. I understand the building not being equipped with air conditioning, but most of the windows were painted shut, and the one that did open was chained in such a way that we could not get much ventilation in a south facing room. I guess I expected a bit more since the Marriott chain took over the property.

    Good location, clean room

Prior to the trip getting multiple texts asking for money to secure my room or else id lose my reservation. I had to query this with staff who told me this wasn’t from the hotel. Is concerning as there is a breach of security with customers details being accessed by scammers wanting your details and money. There was little concern for this happening from the hotel other than saying it wasn’t them. Not great. We stayed in room 302. Early hours was woken by crashing water as the room next door was having a shower. Zero sound proofing as the bathroom is right by the beds in our room. Beware if you are given this room!

Very comfortable bed, happy, friendly reception staff, nice bar and good choices of drinks. Very easy to check in/out!

Breakfast not very good, no choice of eggs offered (scrambled only), coffee bleak and cold, staff member annoying talking to friends in front of guests. Bedroom floor not level and large crack in the ceiling! Kettle and instant coffee offered, maybe an update to a coffee pod machine needed. Parking was next door in an open car park. Returned to car the next day and someone had vomited over it! Very hard to connect to wifi, so didn't bother.

Locality and facilities and friendly staff. Also your rates were much more reasonable than the other local hotels.

    7RaymondPosted on: 1-6-2026

Location was good, room was clean and quiet.

    8FrankoPosted on: 1-5-2026

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff did their best to be helpful. Room was great and had a lovely view.

The location was a bit far away from town. Fine if you wanted quiet but quite a long walk if you were going out.

    10TracePosted on: 1-2-2026

I don't know why this a 3 Star, it deserves 4. It's spotlessly clean. The Staff are friendly and helpful. The location, on the seafront is amazing. Walking distance to many nice things to do. The room was warm but airy. Great size, clean....and generally quiet (it's just I was there on NYE so bound to be slightly noisier) Dog friendly option was perfect. Breakfast was delish. I literally can't fault it.

There was nothing I disliked about this hotelHowever, a couple of details that could have made it more perfect. A couple of coat hooks on the door or wall. A biscuit with the tea and coffee making facilities.
