Pros +
- We booked for comfort. A huge plush bed and a freestanding bath in the room fully achieved that. The weather was pretty tough during our visit but being able to lounge in the bath and look across the pier snd out to sea was glorious. The staff were lovely. Personable, professional and attentive. It was perfect. And we will revisit.
- The location was brilliant, walkable to town centre, the lanes and pier. The bed was absolutely huge and the comfiest bed we’ve slept in ever! The room was very spacious, bright and smelt clean walking in. The view was amazing and it was lovely having the windows open overnight and listening to the sea. Check in and out times were perfect.
- Wonderful staff, great location. Loved the bath in the room. Nice touches too. Comfy bed. Good products.
Cons -
- Parking was a little steep but not wholly unexpected with the location.
- Although the room smelt clean, on closer inspection it was actually quite dirty. Surfaces were sticky, a lot of dust, we moved the tv (angled on the wall) and it was thick with dust on the back. Breakfast was “ok”, it was included in our room fee, however at £15 per head I would’ve expected much better quality and quantity, the bacon was tough and over cooked, the meal was served lukewarm. A misunderstanding with parking, we had already found a space in Brighton for free, but was offered by the hotel to park directly outside, which we accepted, what we hadn’t realised was the £25 charge that would come with it, this wasn’t made clear verbally with us and then when handed the large parking pass, we only noted our room and parking space number, not the much smaller print which said £25 charge (this was our fault I guess for not reading it, but then why would we read through the whole pass, when it wasn’t stated there was one verbally when handed it). I argued this the next day and stated we would be mad to have moved the car from a free space to a £25 space for the sake of a few minutes walk. They agreed to waive the charge, but moving forward they need to be clearer on the cost for customers, especially when booked through sites where this fee is not clearly shared.
- Plumbing was a bit shakey at times. Bathroom has flimsy door.

The Drakes Hotel is a real gem in Brighton. Super friendly and helpful staff with great communication. The “pink and green” room was the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Stunning interior design, an incredible sea view and such a comfortable bed. We had the most relaxing stay and can’t wait to return.
Absolutely nothing! The hotel was perfect in every way

Great, quiet location. Nice breakfast. Convenient parking. Large bath in the bedroom.
Service was slow at breakfast. Very small bathroom.
Very good accommodation, excellent parking facility, polite and very helpful all in all a very good experience. Thank you.
Durable bed. Beautiful rooms, food was lovely.
Alot of stairs lol
Location was great, closed to the main hub of brighton, view from the balcony as we were at the top of the building was lovely. Breakfast was very good.
We were allocated a smaller cosy room at the top that was not featured in the photos of the rooms on the website, so a bit misleading, so not the value for money we expected. Also even parking on there own forcourt they charged an extra on top of the room of £ 25.00.
We had a fantastic stay at The Drake Hotel. The location is perfect—close to the seafront and an easy walk to everything Brighton has to offer. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented, making it a great place to relax after a day out.The food was excellent throughout our stay, with great quality and attention to detail. What really made the visit special, though, was the service..
Anthony and Casey looked after us brilliantly—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel completely at home.Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely return
Great location and comfortable room (the freestanding bathtub in the room is a lovely feature). Reception staff were very helpful when the TV didn’t work in my room, they offered another room instead.
The room was gorgeous, we were very lucky to be upgraded to a room with a sea view and a bath. The bath was a great size and lovely to relax in. The breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Casey especially was great when we were checking in, she was really kind, and gave us lots of recommendations for Brighton.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but the doors to the bathroom don’t give you much privacy as they are glass.
It was beautiful, spotless and warm.
There was an internet problem and we wanted to stay in and watch TV but the TV apps were affected. When we asked at reception they said it was a problem with the provider. It would have been nice to have been offered a drink voucher or something for the inconvenience but it was not a big deal and I would return.
The view from my window was beautiful. Up early enough you do get a beautiful sunrise. It is near a buys road, but you still get a great view of the beach and Brightons iconic pier. Seeing the dogs on the beach chasing the waves was special. The fact the hotel has kept it regency originality whilst upgrading as much as it can, within respect to its character, is brilliant. So many buildings are knocked down to make way for concrete jungles, and this is a gem not to be missed. The mirror on the staircase is particularly pretty

Beautiful room with bath overlooking the sea. I requested a specific room and was granted this. Loved the large windows. Really comfy bed and pillows. We had breakfast in the room, service was excellent. Kind and attentive staff.
It would have been good to have a little fridge in the room. Otherwise everything was perfect.
Comfortable stay, good breakfast. Have stayed before many years ago so were hoping for a wonderful stay.
Lost its boutique charm. Room dated and stayed for my husband's birthday but no extras in the room. Fell short of expectations
Breakfast was good - though not offered anything outside of what was on the menu. No juiceOffered or toast.
Great location with a view over the sea and pier.
We loved our little stay, the toilet/shower was tiny but worth the sacrifice for the views. The staff were really friendly.
Great location, comfortable room.
Lack of atmosphere and not very welcoming, including on arrival and in the bar area in the evening.
The room itself was decorated really well with green and pink as the main colour palette. The large bath in the main room was lovely, the lighting was soft and not too bright. Really lovely selection of bits in the room for tea and coffee, the toiletries as well are nice. The bed is superbly comfortable with fluffy pillows and huge soft duvet. Views from the room to the sea are also fab! Staff are very friendly.
After spending nearly £400 on the room, I was a bit miffed that the parking was £25 per DAY not per STAY so we paid another £50 on top of our room rate (although this is advertised in the listing and I missed it). We were also a bit disappointed when the member of staff boasted about the new TVs with all the bells and whistles, only to find that Netflix was completely inaccessible as it hadn't been downloaded or something, and the TV still only had options for regular channels or youtube.
