Pros +
- Facilities, location, friendly staff
- Size of room. Style. Decoration
- Comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere, love the authentic decor of the hotel.
Cons -
- The only gripe I have is the parking. Although very close to the hotel and easy to access it turned out to be much more expensive than advertised
- Our room was absolutely tiny, even though we were only staying for one night, we weren't given a kettle, tea coffee or any bottled water. The window looked out over the dingy roof tops (not the hotels fault but just added to the feeling of low budget) We paid £120 for the room which felt expensive for one night, its a 4 star hotel so we were expecting relative luxury but instead felt that it fell short of even a premier inn level stay.
- The only saving grace with this hotel was the staff, who were friendly. The hotel was tired and and needed a good clean. Our room was ok but only just. The room had old tired brown furniture, a very uncomfortable bed, the noise from the street at night was terrible, and there was a constant drone coming from somewhere in the hotel but it was too late in the evening to do The bathroom floor and skirting left a lot to be desired. We would rather have stayed in a Travelodge. Will never book this hotel again.

Excellent location. Unbeknown to us the restaurant was closed for our stay so we didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. The room was massive, plenty of wardrobe space, large bathroom and absolutely spotless. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Overall a very good experience

The location was fantastic, the overall appearance of the hotel was very grand. Walking through reception, the hotel looks very high end! All spaces were clean, quiet and well kept.

Not a great deal really.

Fantastic suite bit noisy with early deliveries as hotel opposite large stores.
The hotel was beautiful and ideally located for our trip
My only issue was the lift from street level to the hotel didn't have any information on which floor we needed, but this wouldn't stop me staying here again.
Very friendly staff. Clean room and brilliant location.
The bed was a little small ( small double) but comfortable
Mini was fabulous and made sure we had the perfect room. We asked for a bath and Mini went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect.
The radiator in the bathroom kept shuddering. Was fine once I turned it off. I forgot to mention it on the way out. Breakfast was OK but could have been better
good location, clean sheets and comfy bed, breakfast was ok and they made me eggs but the selection of cold cuts / pastries etc was quite small and sad.
my room (321) was quite draughty. the TV was really old and the TV remote didn't work. the doorframe looked like somebody had tried to force it open, and generally it really needed a thorough renovation.
The Room was spacious and clean. Staff were lovely.
Breakfast was awful. For such a lovely hotel i was really disappointed. Cold selection was very basic & cooked vegan b.fast was not the best. Hash browns were rock hard. You have to pay extra for a Cappuccino!? Only Orange & Apple juice from machine, not fresh.Would reccommend not including B.fast, lots of nice places to eat very close to hotel!
Locations, tidiness
It’s nothing better than cheaper hotels in the same area. In any way. Also some kind of alarm went off 3 (!) times in the morning. It was painfully loud and distressing
The position within Birmingham The staff especially at breakfast were very inviting, customer service and interaction was exceptional and that was all of themBreakfast was very good
The bedroom within the suite was open no door and the room had a very high ceiling with only one radiator which is positioned behind heavy curtainsThis meant the room was colder than o would have liked
Have stayed here many times, so we like the hotel.
This is first time we stayed in a standard double. The bed was very small and the mattress wasn't very good at all. It sunk in the middle so both me and my wife were rolling towards each other.
Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed and hot powerful shower.
Location of room relative to the street below. Noise of people drunk shouting at all hours, trams and tram announcements. Ear plugs in the drawers were a telling sign.
Zero sleep, cold drafty room...
Noisy rooms, windows drafty
Mini at the reception desk was very helpful
Other staff at the reception desk could welcome guests with a smile - Bathroom heating very poor and ineffective
Breakfast great, lovely room and location spot on.
All good.
The staff were excellent, and couldn't be more helpful. Mini especially was fantastic! She ensured the birthday surprise for my best friend went the best it could go!The hotel itself had grand, classic high-class hotel vibes without being dated or looking worn. The room we had was spacious and spotless, and the breakfast was great. The location couldn't be any better either, being literally a stones throw from Birmingham New Street station. Highly recommend!
